“My boyfriend and I came here here on New Year’s Day. So many restaurants closed, they were open so we decided to try a new place. He ordered the Cubana Torta and I had the quesabirria tacos. Food was really tasty and the portions are big! Service is great and staff is very friendly. My one suggestion would be to provide a larger portion of consumé for the tacos since the tacos are so big. Overall great place. Highly recommend !“

In a city where “Californian” culinary ambition often plays second fiddle to casual dining, Heritage in Long Beach has carved out a place of quiet excellence, earning a well-deserved Michelin star. This intimate dining experience is a testament to ingredient-driven, technique-forward cooking, where flavors are both restrained, unpretentious, and deeply expressive. From the first bite, it was clear that Heritage excels at layering textures and flavors in unexpected ways. The meal began with an Amuse Bouche trio: a delicate prawn cracker topped with sweet Dungeness crab, a green leaf with another seafood salad that was to be eaten like a mini street taco, and balanced with the brightness and light crunch of pickled turnip. A seemingly simple couple of bites, but one that foreshadowed the precision and thoughtfulness of the courses to follow. To cleanse the palate, a mint tea infused with palo santo was served—a meditative interlude that was both refreshing and aromatic, setting the stage for the evening’s journey. The first official course, Crème Caviar, featured Russian Sturgeon Heritage Caviar and chive, a chilled preparation that was rich yet elegantly restrained. This was followed by Kanpachi Crudo, presented with carrot, ginger, and macédoine vegetables, offering a balance of clean ocean flavors against bright, vegetal undertones. Then came what I consider the star of the evening: a dish that fully captured the ethos of Heritage—Hen of the Woods Mushroom, topped in a “sunchoke stew” (crispy fried sunchoke) with fermented mushroom. For an additional $25, an indulgent shaving of black truffle took the dish to another level, transforming it into a sensory experience that evoked the deep, earthy satisfaction of foraging. The interplay of umami-rich elements made this course a masterpiece of textural and flavor contrast. The proteins that followed were executed with equal care. First, a perfectly prepared Rainbow Trout, sauted to perfection with a crispy layer of skin on one side, delicate pink flesh on the other, bathed in a delicate dashi and punctuated with bursts of smoked trout roe in a light creme sauce, which lent salinity and depth. Then, a 32-day dry-aged rib chop, a cut that can sometimes lean too “gamey” in the tradiinal steak house that cuts corners on a post aging trim, yet here was a revelation—tender, deeply beefy, but balanced. Accompanying the dish was sous vide endive, black garlic, and a shaving of Parmesan, which surprisingly lacked the usual sharpness, instead presenting a more rounded, delicate, nutty flavor. Desserts were a study in technique and balance. The first, a Grilled Strawberry with strawberry granita and Meyer lemon crème, was bright and refreshing, its layers revealing different expressions of cool and sweetness. Then came the Coco Craquelin, a delicate choux pastry filled with beurre noisette ganache and banana cremeux, meant to be eaten with the hands—a playful and interactive moment in the meal. Finally, a Sage Basque Cake, its subtle herbaceousness complemented by toasted hemp seeds and lemon curd, provided a grounding, crispy finish. Heritage is the kind of restaurant that doesn’t simply chase trends—it refines them into something personal, something intentional. The execution is confident but never showy, and the experience is paced with precision, allowing each dish to tell its own story. This is not just a meal—it’s a quiet, profound meditation on flavor, technique, and the land from which it all comes. Where other restaurant profess to be a true “Californian” style farm to table experience , Heritage is, without a doubt, a must-visit for anyone who seeks out truly exceptional dining in California.“

“easy to like, easy to miss; hidden in the corner and definitely more mexican-forward, i came at an odd hour and tragically missed out on the tiramisu, but the beef enchiladas in green sauce made for a lovely meal with its buttery-tender tortillas and smokey-savoury barbacoa filling 👌 and them avocado slices were just the perfect add-on, loved those too. the green sauce itself was rather shy in flavour, but the rice and beans were seasoned hella rich and a nice partner to the complimentary salsa's extra tang! generous portions, local-vibe ambiance, and a dashingly-attentive owner that was a joy to chat with, really the best spot to recharge at after running some errands near the towne center plaza 🔋“

“I was at a program at Kaiser and a couple of members brought up this place. I went in and Nadia was super helpful. She explained that I could walk in and purchase a meal or they also offer a subscription program. I picked up a meal from the store and it was wonderful. Healthy and Tasty. Their pricing is extremely reasonable and if you subscribe (no cost), you get an additional discount off the cost of the meals. I immediately went online and placed an order. 😀 This is a great find!“

“Last night we went to Speak Cheezy on 4th St at Termino. First off, EXCELLENT customer service! We had the Shroomday Button (Oyster and Maitake Mushrooms/ White Wine Braised Leeks / Truffle Cheese / house stretched mozzarella / shredded mozz / parsley / post oven of lemon zest. *We love to add Hobbs Sausage*). I added that delicious sausage and loved that pizza! We also had the Bloomsdale (garlicky bloomsdale spinach / hand stretched mozzarella / shredded mozzarella /pecorino / smoked ricotta / gaeta olive / za’atar / feta salsa verde)... and YUM! And we decided to try the Garden of Farms Little Gem Caesar Salad (little gems / kewpie caesar dressing / pizza croutons / anchovies / Ribbons of Fiscalini Gold / soft cooked egg). Again, tasty, tasty, tasty. Speak Cheezy sure seems to use high-end products in the creation of their pizzas and salads. Everything was top notch. That salad was so yummy with that incredible salad dressing and the jammy soft cooked egg. I want another one to eat with my lovely pizza leftovers. :)“

“This is a great concept for a takeout restaurant with prepared meals. I got the cilantro rice, spicy black beans, a buddha bowl with tofu, and honey spicy sweet potatoes for a great price. Some items were 25% off because they were going out of date the next day, but they lasted in my fridge, and still tasted fresh, for 3 days. They also have meat entrees, but I really appreciated their vegan options. The only reason I didn't give Everytable five stars is because they use more oil than I prefer. The food is yummy, but wish they'd use less oil, at least on the vegan dishes. And, the service was helpful, especially for my first time there. The location in Torrance has a small area with tables and chairs and they will heat up your food, if you prefer your meal warm.“

“I’ve never seen this done before. So let’s see if they’re pretty good eh or ew. There are pretty much two things on the menu, schnitzel tacos and sandos. I got their sando combo and You can either customize your order with all the daily fresh made in house ingredients or be like me order it crazy and just trust the chef. Which you should cuz my man AC knew what he was doing and made me a super epic sando with plenty of perfectly pankoed crispity crunchy thin schitezel, crunchy cabbage, pickled onions to add some bite and acidity, and creamy, nutty, hummus. Which was all on this super fresh, pillowy, slightly sweet, chewy challah bread. Everything worked together super well and was really yummy. The schnitzel itself could’ve used a tad bit more salt and seasoning tho. And since I ordered the combo version it also came with fluffy potatoey fries, crispity savory fried eggplant, and a panaply of sauces. The thinner orange sauce was a tangy curry flavor, the thicker orange one was pumpkiny? But my fave was definitely the green one which was super garlicy and yummy. All of them paired well with the meal too. The value here is insane since everything is so big, fresh and yummy. This place is pretty good

The best part is my area has brick and mortar stores where I just walk in and buy my meal prep for the week...Meals cooked in a local kitchen by real chefs with local fresh ingredients. I'm busy all the time and although I love cooking it's hard to cook for just one person. The majority of meals are 600 calories or less. An easy way for me to stay in my calorie deficit. I just had the chicken schwarma bowl and it was soooo good. Tasted just like a home cooked meal. Highly recommend“

“If you haven’t been to Cava yet, let me save you the suspense. From the moment you walk in, the ingredients look fresh, and the entire team moves with purpose and professionalism. You can tell right away they take pride in what they do and that starts at the top with Stavo.
Stavo was so sweet, friendly, and overall amazing. I absolutely loved his personality! You can tell he genuinely cares about both the people he works with and every single guest who walks through the door.
Now let me talk about something that surprised me.
I have never tried their Mint Cucumber drink before because I simply do not like anything minty. Ever! Stavo suggested I give it a try. I asked him directly, “Is it minty?” He confidently told me it wasn’t overpowering and that it’s actually one of their top drinks. And let me just say he did not lie!!!!
The Mint Cucumber was divine. So refreshing. Light, crisp, and perfectly balanced. It wasn’t overwhelmingly minty at all just clean and cooling in the best way. Thank you for that suggestion, Stavo. You converted me!
And while we’re here, if you haven’t had their Pita Chips, you are absolutely missing out. They are the BEST. Perfectly crisp, lightly salted, and dangerously addictive. Make sure you get them when they’re fresh and come right out that’s when they’re at their peak. Trust me on this one.
The food is consistently amazing fresh greens, flavorful proteins, creamy hummus, vibrant toppings everything tastes thoughtfully prepared. But what truly makes this location stand out is the experience. The teamwork. The hospitality. The leadership.
