“The ambiance was intimate but lively. Great music playing in the background.
The service was great- Nina was so kind and offered great suggestions.
The food was robust with flavor and a generous portion.
The chicken bites were crispy, a little sweet and tangy.
The Jollof rice with crispy catfish was cooked to perfection. It came with black beans (delicious!) and sweet plantains.
The burger was good but definitely worth skipping and trying other menu items.
The house lemonade was so refreshing and not too sweet.
Overall wonderful experience. Will be back!“

“I did not realize that this is the same family that owns Aunt kizzy's in Malibu The food was very good The owner came over and greeted us He was very personable the waitress was very nice
Our first visit on Monday I ordered the smothered pork chops with succotash which was very tasty on Tuesday I ordered the oxtails mac and cheese and cabbage and very tasty“

“Let me start with its a very long line & wait.
The food is absolutely delicious and the portions are very generous. Customer service is fantastic. But geez the long line up…we arrived at 1:25 they open at 1:30pm & there was a long line, I mean long but they did provide ice cold water which was refreshing & needed when standing in the sun for any length of time.
By the time we got into the restaurant, order, pay & actually get our food it was 3:50pm. They have seating available once you get inside and wait another 30-45 min for your order so you can relax.
Yes people thats how long the wait is. 2.5hrs to wait for food don't get me wrong like I said the food was great but just cant see myself waiting in line again for that length of time hence the 3 stars for atmosphere. I was told the line up is the norm.“

“Absolutely the finest Soul Food. You don't want to skip this place. I had the lunch portion of the Oxtail and chose the Candied Yams and Mac and Cheese as sides. It came with 2 Cornbread Muffins. It was all delicious and filling. I ordered the Coconut Pineapple Cake for Dessert. It filled the container. See the picture. Totally Recommend this place.“

If you find yourself in Cali you need to make it a point to go.
Staff is always friendly, explain anything you may have a question on. Service is fast and the food is always on point.
Took my husband here as he has never been he ate all of the food I posted on this post, and hes very very picky.
The food is great, we weren’t a fan of the mac and cheese it wasn’t bad it just wasn’t a fan favorite of ours.
Great job, this is my favorite location it is downtown LBC by the queen Mary.
Chicken is juicy, tasty, succulent and crunchy! The cornbread, potatoes, biscuits and gravy, was great. The hot sauce is great, we even bought one to go. The lemonade is freshly squeezed and tasty.

“I enjoyed their food...I didn't particularly care for the instant mashed potatoes... had I'd known that they were "instant" and not real mashed potatoes I would have passed on the instant mashes potatoes, and definitely not ordered that particular item with my 3 ( three)to go orders. Other than that..everything was good and seasoned just right... :)I support this business, and I love that they are also an organization that is helping men and women get back on track with their sobriety.. Dare U To Care Grill is helping to keep them gainful employment and also helping them establish stable housing.Everyone deserves a second chance...Dare U To Care Grill is doing great things!! “I specialize in the renovation of kitchens, but this is Grandmas country kitchen 2.0. Both a local market and an incredibly good southern inspired restaurant, be prepared to be warmed by the good spirit of true comfort food and energy of the old days... when food took time but every1 chatted away... It was my first time here, so I didn't get a chance to really experiment on food (chicken sausage, eggs, and pancakes), but it was pleasant. Good prices and a local spot you should not miss.“

Parking is plentiful since it's located in a shopping center.

“Best BBQ hands down! I have been getting my Que for over 3 years now. So much they know me by name and my order. I'm a no sauce person and a lot of places can't deliver that "wow" effect when it comes to seasoning. But Rowes seasonings is to perfection. All the sides are fire, my favorite is the potato salad. Plates are well portioned, for a great price. And we ain't gonna talk about the Peach Cobbler??. Gotta get there early tho, because by 3 or 4 some food can be sold, that's just how good it is. No cap, I have business I do bi weekly in the area and I never leave without going thru and grabbing a plate. Keep bringing that ? Que Rowe I'm a customer for life!!!“

“Absolutely loved the chicken and waffles! The chicken was fresh and moist. I also ordered the lemonade iced tea and that was so refreshing. Hot sauces were perfect too, they had flavor and enough heat. My favorite sauces from left to right as seen in picture.
Spent about $20 each person not bad because although it doesn’t look it, food was very filling.“

“Very surprised to read the bad reviews. Yes it's an older establishment but clean. The band was amazing! The service was excellent. There was no long wait for drinks or the food. The chicken was seasoned to perfection and not overcooked but juicy! I literally have zero complaints! I had agreed great time and can't wait to come back.“
