“When I first entered toots I thought it was rather small. I had no idea there was a back room for shows! The place is actually pretty nice and has ample space inside. Parking is a little tricky and the sidewalks are rather high as my friend fell off of one of them. I recommend this place for good shows and great gatherings'n“

“This is a nice place to grab food and a drink after work or with a friend The service is nice and friendly. They have a pool table & bar games, karaoke nights, host parties and watch sports. Inside has a clean homey feel and is nice and open beyond the bar area.“

“We dropped into Baxter's randomly last night and we're lucky enough to be seated in the speakeasy. This was a side room of the restaurant but also a world away! The atmosphere was amazing, plush, comfortable and yet sleek with a bit of a club feel. Then the food! Not only was it beautiful in presentation but absolutely delicious. My husband had the lamb and practically licked the plate clean he loved it so much. The scallops were also amazing and not over sauced. Both came with mashed potatoes and veggies which at most restaurants aren't that great, Baxter's however made these side dishes equally fresh and appealing. Their bartender knew what he was doing and made some great martinis as well. Overall it was an excellent experience, highly recommended! Usually I'd have to go to SF to get this kind of service, food and atmosphere.“

The owner, Lara, is usually present, and may sing an aria if she stops at your table. A mostly Italian menu, the food is always great. And you are trying to listen to the karaoke (SLAM!) and they just won’t stop with the effing cup (SLAM!) and then you finally get fed up and (SLAM!) scream at them to shut up (SLAM!) and ask the staff why they don’t just ask (SLAM!) those 5 people to stop doing that because the other (SLAM!) 45 people in the bar are annoyed with the cup (SLAM!) being repeatedly slammed into the MF table over (SLAM!) and over and over and over and then (SLAM!) the staff doesn’t even understand why they tolerate that $h!t (SLAM!) either and then you are exasperated with the (SLAM!) constant slamming of the dice and so you leave and say, (SLAM!) “Yeah, I’ll probably never be back because (SLAM!) even though I had a nice time, I cannot stand (SLAM!) someone slamming a effing (SLAM!) cup down every 3-5 seconds over and over and over and over and over (SLAM!) againSo that’s my review. “It was my first time at the Beverly Elks Lodge. The have a full bar and kitchen if you're hungry. I was there because on Wednesday nights, for a nominal charge of $10, they teach Chicago Style Steppin' . I has a great time and met some new friends. I can't wait to go back next week.“

“An Amtrak layover for me. First time in this city. A lady at the Chamber of Commerce recommended it to me. Walking distance from the train station. I had the large Gyros. The meat was seasoned wonderfully. Yet, that beautiful meat taste was overcome by excessive lettuce. Thereby, not having as much meat as other places. When I go back I will take off the majority of the lettuce, but I still take issue with the lack of a good quantity of meat. The first picture is after I cut it in half. Another patron had the Greek fries which looked wonderful. I will go back and try them with another dish, but as far as the Gyros, not enough meat for the price. But let me state clearly...what meat was present was absolutely wonderfully tasty.“

Food: 5/5 Every time I have been here the food has been excellent. The portions are huge, everything is hot and fresh tasting, the sauces are great and I love the flavor and spice of the hot and sour soup. During the lunch special, it includes a good amount of food for a very reasonable price. I usually get the Kung Pao Chicken. It includes one entreé, rice (white or fried is included, or brown for $2 extra) 2 wonton chip, as well as hot and sour soup or wonton soup. The chicken is always very good and the veggies are always perfectly cooked. All that food for only 12 dollars! Service: 5/5 Every time we have been here we are seated quickly. In fact everything is very fast. Our food came out about 5 minutes after ordering and our server was ready to take our order within 2-5 minutes of sitting down. (But, they don't rush you. You have as much time as you need to look at the menu.) Ambiance/Space: 4/5 The ambiance is good, it's not anything extremely special, but it's comfortable. The restaurant is actually a pretty good size as well. They have 2 dining room areas, one of which has a bar (The room with the bar is usually closed during lunch). They also have a couple small tables on a small patio outside for nice days. Parking: 4/5 There is ample parking right in front of the restaurant. The only reason it is 4/5 is because this is a city parking lot and you have to pay to get a parking permit. Although it is very cheap. We paid like $1.50 for almost 2.5 hours! I'm sure it's very good for dinner as well. This is definitely a great little gem if you're wanting to explore the antique shops and the surrounding area in the nice little downtown of Martinez. After we eat here we usually like to check out the antique shop called Antique Corner right across the street. I will posting a review about them as well.“
