“There was no one to seat you or take your order. I ended up downloading the app ordering online then go outside to smoke and not a single employee was concerned about me being there. The group that came in after me got seated promptly though.“
“A place on 24th St., the salvation to have a coffee, eat a good sandwich, have a beer and if you like everything Italian you will find it here! The guys are very friendly and the owner can't even speak of, I really liked it, I recommend it!“
“Got a great parking spot across the street in front of Now Valley Bakery, which is not always the case on 24th Street. We were meeting friends there in the back outdoor area. TVs at every booth and you just ask the server to change the channel - we wanted to see the Giants. Midday beers on St Patrick’s Day weekend and it was lovely out. Lots of locals go there, so we saw a few friends. Service was great and I was introduced to the Black Velvet: Prosecco and Guinness! Sounds kind of awful but it was great. Our server was Shanna and she’s so much fun and works hard. Took great care of us!“
“We'll be hitting up the Mad Dog for some bangers as soon as we adjust the Whipply Pimpertickler on Goosebump Charlie's old Draveport Traveler, that way he can use it for something other than a door stop at his place there on the Ashbury.WOW! That Mad Dog restaurant sure can put out some great food, might even day it was Amazing! ☆☆☆☆☆“
“The first time we came here it was a rainy night and packed. The music was going and it seemed like a local crowd. Tonight it was a little less crowded but just as lovely. The food, drinks are great. The Sunday music transports you to another place across the Atlantic. So sweet and highly recommend this place. The pork chop is a fave, as is the cottage pie and roasted chicken. You will have leftovers.“
“We ate wings here last year- best we've ever had. Crunchy, hot, amazing sauces, fast service. Went back thinking no way they are that good. We had to have been tired or really hungry or something. We knew, we were cashing the dragon. But we went again on Easter...and HOT DAMN!! BETTER than we remembered!! So rarely does food measure up across time and memory! They did not disappoint! The fry on these wings is special and spectacular!! NOT TO BE MISSED! The MVP and Lemon Honey wings- I miss them already. Great onion rings too! Plus a great jukebox.“
“I would have to say, as an avid traveler and a person who loves Irish Pubs, this bar is my favorite Irish bar! If you are in the area of San Francisco I strongly recommend that you go to the Irish Times, you will not be disappointed! the food is amazing, the drinks are delicious and the atmosphere is out of this world!!“
“Quite frankly my favorite spot in all of San Francisco. The food's great and it's nice inside, but what really sets it apart is the warm atmosphere and friendly service. Trivia nights with Erin are a must - just make sure to put a reservation in ahead of time. So glad I found this place, and I am confident that many others feel the same way. Thanks SFAC!!“
“Liquid Gold is a perfect name for this beer spot. How else can you describe the golden elixir's on tap? If you are a beer person, you will leave this place happy. And I would't say you have to be a certain kind of beer person (that is, ipa, sour, etc.) Different styles are fairly well represented across many excellent local craft breweries. I really like how LG offers a very small pour option for most beers, which allows me to try a lot more without both the cost and getting too toasty. But I believe they also offer growler options, which is super convenient (especially if you're close by, which alas I am not.) Also, they have a pretty big cooler with cans, so if you need more options to bring home you're very covered. Finally, they don't serve food but I have brought snacks, etc. inside (Nourish cafe is just a few doors down, hint hint.) Enjoy a sandwich in a low-key, relaxing joint, with plenty of beer to keep your thirst quenched.“
“I returned back to SF after 8 years. I wandered in one night and met Justin. Hell of a guy and a place to match. It doesn't matter what you're wearing, who you're with or if you're alone, they will make you feel welcome. Even if the day went wrong, the personnel will help make it better. The drinks for an inside SF bar are reasonably priced. The gents are as honest as the day is long. Refreshing place to find and so close to where I moved. It's my new go to place for watching the game or whatever is on and having instant camaraderie with the patrons.“
“My now favorite sports and nonsports Tavern in the Richmond. Atmosphere was just the right balance of enthusiasm and still being able to talk and hear a conversation. Beers are great! And I'm a huge sausage fan, and they hit all the marks. But the biggest surprise was the Sauerkraut. This is exactly how my Polish mother cooked it with apples and caraway! Wow!“
“this is definitely the neighborhood bar, it's small and intimate and feels very locals only. no tourists or even people from too far having a drink here. there's a pool table and a jukebox. the prices are fair and service is pretty quick. clientele is pretty varied which keeps things interesting.“
“I love this place my local neighbor bar. Hayden is the best bartender looking out for me and my cousin the moment we stepped in. The best service and making sure we were safe. Hayden also makes the best Irish coffees and I would trust him with my life!“
“I’ve been frequenting Richmond Republic since the week it opened and I’m not sure I’d live here if it didn’t exist. There’s a great rotating beer selection and the food is delicious. I especially like the burgers and salads, and the fries and tots are cooked to perfection. I love all the bartenders, especially the Tuesday crew. Make sure to get an Underberg before heading home!“
“Excellent food and very authentic. I lived in Ireland for a number of years and thoroughly enjoyed the full Irish fry for brunch. They even had Barry’s tea (I used to be more of a Lyon’s Gold Blend but Barry’s is my close second). Lovely.I went another evening and had the lamb riblets. GORGEOUS! I watched the barman pour a few Guinness. I normally don’t order Guinness in America but the barman poured a proper pint and there was plenty of Guinness flowing. Best pint of Guinness I’ve had in ages. I’ll be back!“
“Late-night vibes in San Francisco ?? Had a blast at this bar. The ambience was spot on, with cozy lighting and a lively crowd. The pool table added some extra fun to the mix. Shoutout to the hardworking bartender who kept the drinks flowing smoothly despite the busy night. Tried three different beers and cocktails, all top-notch! Definitely a must-visit spot for a great time in the city. #SanFranciscoNights #CheersToGoodTimes ??“
“Chieftain’s is the best Irish Pub in San Francisco and the best bar in Soma. We have so much fun every time we’re here and every employee is amazing. Richard, Lorrie, Danny, Dianne, Mark, and the rest of the staff are amazing. Highly recommend the Shepherds Pie!!“
“Great spot with surprisingly delicious food. The pretzel is excellent, and I love that they serve it with a nice spicy house made mustard. I've been twice and gotten the slushy both times, which have been delish. My girlfriend likes the corn dog, although it could use a thicker batter. Recently I tried the Bacon Beef burger (aioli, onion jam, wild arugula, gruyere) which was scrumptious. Cooked to perfection with the right amount of sauce and toppings (two nice slices of bacon that were perfectly cooked). Pretty decent prices for the serving sizes (burger comes with fries and a pickle). The staff are friendly and there's lots of seating both inside and outside.“
“Misery loves company. If you're done with life, this is the place for you.Perfect place for a few hundred post-breakup/divorce cocktails. If there’s a Nobel prize for depressing ambiance these guys deserve it- I mean this sincerely because I absolutely love this place! A++ service and“
“I've lived in the area for three decades, (South Bay, East Bay & the Peninsula) but only recently discovered the historic 7 Mile House and can't wait to return. In fact, I'm headed there right after I post this ;.) I walked in on a weekday afternoon for a late lunch / early dinner to-go and sat at the bar with affable locals who all seemed to be enjoying themselves. I was warmly welcomed by the bartender; cocktail service was swift and with a friendly smile. Their mouth-watering menu offers much to choose from. After some deliberation, I selected their pulled pork adobo sandwich with a "side" salad which was an enormous serving of fresh field greens (entree size) along with the gigantic, succulent sandwich which DID NOT disappoint. The meat was tender and smokey, and their adobo is what I'm going back for today ! There was plenty to feed at least two people or one hungry woman with a half sandwich left over for lunch the following day. See you at the Seven ! I've gotta go ~ photos next time . . .“
“Cool tap room with a great selection of beer and casual atmosphere. Some of the tables (or possibly all of them) are self serve by ordering at the bar which makes it very convenient for a quick drink or bite to eat. There’s some fun classic arcade games too!“
“I was surprised that after passing customs, there was a restaurant with really delicious food and a nice atmosphere that could provide travelers with a satisfying meal. The wine and food here are really delicious. Although the price is a bit higher, it is reasonable because it is located in the airport and it is a special occasion. The restaurant decoration and atmosphere are great. I will still choose to come here next time I have the opportunity. The waiter is very busy but will pay attention to the progress of the customer's meal even if the food is not served in time. The service is really great. It’s really nice to be able to sit down, rest and relax after the rude and unreasonable interactions in the airport hall and customs.“
“Came here at 6 am to watch English Premier League for the first time! There are TV all around so everywhere is a good spot to watch the game!Coffee is good and food is served at 7 am. I got fries and wings. Fries is crispy! Wings are a bit sour to my taste but it's crispy so it's still good! Bartender lady is super friendly. No wonder people come here to watch the games!“
“From the interior vibes to stellar staff who all have great personalities, this place is a gem! If you’re a fan of dive bars that have character, satisfying food, and that are grungy but not dirty or sticky — I believe you’ll love this place, “
“My boyfriend and I came here on a Saturday night to watch football. We heard great things about this place so decided to check it out for ourselves. We walked in and the place very spacious. Not too busy, so we were able to grab a table and they had all the big games playing. The guys behind the bar - Glen and Jay - were awesome!! Very attentive and friendly. While we were there we ordered food from "The Hidden Spot", which is located all the way in the back of the bar. The two spots are not connected so you'll need to pay separately. We heard so many good things about their wings and they were delicious. $10 for 5 wings or $18 for 10. We wanted to try a couple different flavors and they were both really good. The place has a chill vibe, no frills, just a fun neighborhood bar. We had a great time and will definitely be back again.“
“The 4 of us started with pikilia, a nice sampling of the mezethes, which were delicious. It would have been easier if we hadn't had to cut most items in half so that each of us could have a sample of each item. (Perhaps the plate could be sized and ordered "for 2, for 3, for 4," etc.) The beyti was beautiful and tasted wonderful. Also fabulous were the kotopoulo brochettes, souzoukaklia, and sultani. We had room to share the chocolate dome and the salted caramel gelato. We loved the food, and our server was delightful. Although the place is small, there was only one bartender and one server that Monday night; we had to request attention from time to time. The door also tended to remain open, which allowed cold air, cigarette smoke, and truck exhaust to infiltrate. We did shut the door several times, but next time we'll ask to be seated in the back. We'll definitely return - often!“
“This gem is perfect for a night out w/ friends, Happy Hour or a quick bite to eat. There are two bars and plenty of open seating including the options of a booth or table. One time I even dropped in here last minute w/ 8 of my coworkers and they were super accommodating. Shoutout to one of their managers or bartenders named Chris. I've dealt w/ him a few times and he's always super friendly, knowledgeable about the menu & wines/beer and makes you feel like "sometimes you want to go where they all just know your name".“
“Nickie's was great! We visited San Francisco for my birthday and it was close to our hotel and just what we needed... A fun bartender, cheap drinks, and great locals to chat with. No frills, didn't try the food, just there for the late night mellow dive.“
“What a total cool brewery to hang out at. Food really good and great IPA's. The atmosphere is outstanding with indoor and outdoor seating. It is right next to (literally) Chase Center where the Warriors play and other concerts etc. perform.“
“The food is great here, they always have a huge selection of beer, and it's an amazing place to watch games with a group. For especially big events, they'll pipe the game audio to the bar speakers, so you can actually hear everything going on. One of my favorite places in the city to catch the game or just get casual drinks. The service is also pretty great, even when they get really crowded.“
“Came here after work. Lots of tv. Have outdoor seatings and some tables inside but you can also seat at the bar area. They have free popcorn. They wr code for the restaurant next door but they are okay for you to bring outside food. As for the drinks, they have beers, cocktails, and wine or take a shot if you want too as well. They have a pool table and jukebox if you want to play music. The staffs are nice but they can get busy once the place started to get busy. Prices are decent/average.“
“I don't want this turning into some crazy hot spot, but you should go there! Amazing sandwiches and other bites, a pool table in better shape than at least the nearest 5, AND just a good low key vibe that's makes for an awesome brunch!Vegetarian options: Enough choices and options you'll find food there I'm sureDietary restrictions: Enough choices and options you'll find food there I'm sureWheelchair accessibility: Typical front door access and ada bathroom“
“My husband and I met at Blackthorn at Blackthorn 8 years ago. I've had many happy memories including new years, world cups, and other great moments in my life. It would be detrimental to the SF community if this bar closed, and I WILL NOT come back if a new bar opens. McGrath, do the right thing and let Blackthorn have that space!!!!“
“My favorite bar from comedy night , dj's , to hanging out with my neighbors this dive bar exceeds expectations . The staff always remembers my name and is welcoming / engaging in conversation .... a true gem in regards to service. The Ave is and will always be the best bar around and a place that I call home.“
“Great sports bar with the best buffalo wings in SF! Only removing one star because the prices have increased a lot. The main issue is there's been multiple times only one dude is there to serve a full bar -during a game- which can mean up to a 30min wait for a drink (even if it's your first and just a beer). He's great, but the risk of that definitely keeps me from going pretty often. It's always a good time after you get a drink though :)“
“My new favorite dive bar in the city. A great blues band was playing the night we went and the atmosphere was fun and full of happiness. Excellent and creative cocktails (the Bee's Knees and the ginger cocktail are very much recommended). Service was exceptional, we'll be definitely coming back! Love this place, A+++Parking: best to get here via ride share because parking is extremely difficult to find.“
“The dubliner is a very nice neighborhood bar. The bartenders are very friendly and nice. The crowd are mostly just locals. Friendly vibes. I've had nice chats with some of them. I've been to a couple trivia nights and was lucky to win one. I try to stop by if I'm in the neighborhood. You should too.“
“I decided to stop by this local sports bar. Fairly empty when I came in. Packed by the time I left. Good menu selections. Weekend breakfast options. They even offer mystery shots. I had the steak and eggs. The bartender/server Freddie was super nice and attentive. Prices are on point. Especially for the location. Food was ok. Nothing extremely special but the customer service was superb!“
“Felt like a nice welcoming place to enjoy a few beers away from fisherman’s wharf. By no stretch were we the only tourists there, but generally tourists were in the minority. But and this is a big but, all seemly were made to feel welcome. Barmaid was friendly, chatty and attentive.Always nice to find somewhere like this away from the hotel and main tourist hotspots. Oh and they had sport on the tele which was nice, but it wasn’t dominating..“
“Place totally exceeded expectations. Peruvian classics with killer sazon, standout dishes were the Vaca Frita and Lomo Mar y Tierra. The ceviches and wings were also both very nicely executed. Pretty good portions at overall reasonable price point. The place is set up with a DJ/live band for dancing on weekends, is a good option for salsa/bachata but the ambience can vary depending on the night. Definitely recommend this gem hidden in plain sight!“

“I forgot to get the name of the woman who was working tonight (2/3/24) but she was amazing!!! She was not only attentive but she was kind and we had great conversations… moving out of the area and wish I had come here sooner but hope to come back here someday because of this bartender!“
“Great European food especially the schnitzel and stroganoff. Beer choices are always great with a majority euro selection including dark and light polish, German, and Belgium beers. I have been going to this place sporadically over the years and am just now reviewing it. Love this spot and hope it stays for years to come.“
“Very cool chill environment. Bartender/waiter had great hospitality. Small Mexican restaurant inside the bar offering a delicious menu with cheap eats. We tried the elotos, berria tacos, and buffalo wings...all was delicious. Definitely a place to repeat!!“
“Awesome service, neighborhood friendly place to watch the game. Really nice bartender, Betty there made my NY Eve super lovely as well. I went in the first time, forgot my phone, came back and immediately greeted by Betty. She made an awesome cosmo drink perfect for pictures. Pink is my favorite color as I am aka babysoftpink for my online broadcast. Clean no stickiness on table. Easygoing , nice crowd there. I sat on the side to post for my pictures and felt totally comfortable, everyone was having lots of fun to prep for the new year so if you need some family vibe of happiness, this is the spot. I saw the pool table and there were pathway to the backyard for smokes, dog runaround and business etc. Not your typical Irish pub is also situated to a certain four-stars seafood restaurant if you are hungry before or after! My UberEats super store for dim sum is also nearby. Plenty of street parking outside. I saw two both times I stopped by this afternoon. I recommend giving them a try if you like mellow, parkside vibe, neighbors friendly pub. Betty knows how to entertain and uplifts the crowd too if you need some positivity!“
“Super fun bar-crawl sorta pub! The Drinko Plinko is the star of the show with a decent reward every time (unless you get motor oil! Yuck!). Service was surprisingly fast for a bar that was filled to standing room only, and the drunks were strong. Price was pretty typical for a SF bar, not divey prices but also not making your eyes water. Absolutely love the second floor loft space where you can chill with a big group of friends! Great place overall, super packed on Trivia nights!“
“For a place to eat after running this was great!Good:- Good price value and lots of food per order!- The $1 wings deal was awesome and had a ton of wings in our group- Food came out super quickly and it was all really easily brought out to our tableBad:- The place is really casual so nothing fancy- Burrito bowl was a little blandOverall liked the fun group experience here and bar vibes!“
“My partner and friends been coming here since they opened. Claudio, Patrick and the whole staff are super friendly and welcoming. We always have a great time here, the alcohol selection is amazing. We also tried the food a handful of time and it's super yummy. They have the games on TV on game days, pool table in the back. This is just what this neighborhood needs.“
“For birthday parties, I personally do not recommend it, I celebrated my son and the food was not good at all. It is better if you only go as a family and celebrate, since the food is much better at regular tables than reserving a place and bringing guests, since it is a lot of money. So I enjoy going apart more ??“
