Having Delirium Tremens in their beer stock was amazing, hadn't seen many bars with this many good options in a while. A good place for a quiet and private date, but with good walking distance to Echo Park and local bars and venues.“

“The food was great but we were yelled at as soon as we entered the pizza parlor. All the employees were nice except this very rude woman who accused us of breaking the front door, which had no posted signs outside that it was out of order. She seemed to be the manager as she barked orders to the nice gentleman who took our food order.
There was no way of knowing that the door was not functioning properly. The responsibility lies with the establishment's manager to properly notify customers if there are issues with the building. She's lucky the door didn't fall on us.“

“Pelicana is the OG of KFC (Korean Fried Chicken) boom in Korea. It faces stiff competition along South street in Artesia, from Dave's, Raising Cane, Chik FilA, Jollibee, Popeyes, McDonald's, and bbq.

I ordered the half chicken, original with Smokey hot sauce. The chicken is not as juicy as Jollibee or bbq, the sweet yet hot sauce, however, is sticky good. It comes with pickled radish / chicken-mu to cut through the grease and spice. It's good to enjoy it with a glass of cold beer.“

“This place has changed so much. I used to come here when I was in high school and it was so much smaller. Looks like they expanded and added a lot more wallpaper and decoration. I like it a lot. They moved the bar area over to the middle of the room off to the left side. The place honestly seems a lot more lively haha.

Also the clientele seems to have changed too, went from older people to a lot of younger people but they are all really chill and respectful. And I felt like they charge pretty decent hourly rate, better than some of the other billiards in the area.“

The strawberry matcha was sweet had bright strawberry flaves with mellow matchay notes and was nice and milky. If you’re not into cafe like drinks they also have a cooler full of other fun drinks to pick from too. The corn dog came with some crisp corny tortilla chips and salsa and was topped with sweet ketchup, gooey cheese, was coated in crispity crunchity panko breadcrumbs and had an a bit sweet fluffy bready batter filled with half mozzarella and half a spongy fish sausage. Course we gotta mix up the bibimbap that had a not spicy chili flavor gochujang sauce, crunchy nutty lettuce, tender grilled veggies, pickled yellow radish, an egg, and perfectly sweet, savory, grilled, galbi short ribs that were just pure deliciousity. The kimchi beef soup came with a side of rice and pickles and HAD A BUTTON of jiggly soft tofu, crunchy kimchi, and tender beef, all in a savory, a bit spicy, tangy, kimchiy broth. More people should be talking about this spot cuz it’s pretty good.

“I grew up on German food from my native German grandmother and mother. All the dishes were authentic. The sausages were wonderfully spiced and not fatty. The mackerel had a wonderful sauce and the apple cake was better than my grandmother’s. The home brewed beers were great and the staff were very friendly and attentive.

Think of it as a Biergarten meets LA chic. All the good food without the lederhosen, dirndels and oompah band. The only reason I can think the rating isn’t 5.0 is the more negative comments are from people who wanted the shlock or from people who don’t understand real German food.“
