“We tried the beef tongue sandwich with crushed green olive, and it was fantastic. The beef tongue was tender and flavorful, and the crushed green olives added a really nice fresh, slightly briny touch that made the sandwich feel unique and well balanced. Every bite tasted fresh and satisfying.

The vibe of the place is great, and the owners are super friendly, which makes the whole experience feel even more welcoming. It’s the kind of spot where you feel comfortable right away. The only downside was the parking, which can be a bit tricky around the area. Still, the great food and warm atmosphere definitely make it worth the visit.“

“Nayeb Kabob on 1300 S. Los Angeles Street is a true gem if you’re looking for authentic Persian food done right. The flavors are rich, well-balanced, and clearly made with care—everything tastes fresh, perfectly seasoned, and true to traditional Persian cooking. From the tender, juicy kabobs to the fragrant rice and sides, the menu offers a comforting, home-style quality that’s hard to find.

The prices are very reasonable for the quality and portions you get, making it an excellent value. The service was friendly, attentive, and welcoming, which added to the overall experience. You can tell the team genuinely cares about their food and their customers.

While the atmosphere is more simple and casual and could use some upgrades, the food more than makes up for it. During our visit, they were unfortunately out of a few menu items, but even with limited options, what we ordered was outstanding and left us wanting to come back to try more.

If you’re a fan of Persian cuisine—or want to experience it for the first time—this place is absolutely worth visiting. Authentic flavors, great portions, and solid service make Nayeb Kabob a spot I’d gladly return to again and again.“

We ordered two sandwiches:
one chicken breast with cheese, and one chicken breast with mushrooms and cheese, plus one order of fries.
Total came to $42.

Everything was very tasty, fresh, and well prepared.
The owner who made the sandwiches was very kind and friendly, which made the experience even better.

The place itself is small and simple, with a small indoor counter and high chairs, and a few outdoor seats next to the laundromat.
The area was clean, calm and pleasant.

Overall a nice local spot with good food and great attitude.

“Probably the best Mediterranean food I have ever had. I tried the chicken kebab—it was delicious. The chicken was flavorful and cooked to perfection. The rice was flavorful. Hummus was amazing. The side salad with the beet dressing added the cherry on top. Will definitely be back!“

“I'm at a loss for words, but I'll try my best. Food? Amazing! Perfect amount of seasoning and the portions are huge! And this is coming from a big dude. For the appetizers, my favorites were the Kashk E'bademjan (Eggplant Delight), Potato Salad, and the Hummus! They have more selections, but this is what I was able to try. I hear all are great! For the Entrees, ALL OF THEIR KABOBS ARE FIRE (MMM MMMM YUMMY). I had a sample of most them and in the islands, we would say "broke da mouf kine", which translates to, the food is *beep beep* GOOD! If you've never had Persian Food, or you love it, this is the restaurant for you! Drinks? I love Korean Soju and Cass beer, so yeah, +10 points from me. They do carry various Wines and Beers though...and of course your choice of Soda Pop. Atmosphere? It' gives you a Kewl Kids Vibe; a classy place where you can be yourself with family and friends and just enjoy each others company. You have your choice of Indoor and Outdoor dinning which is amazing. There's also a private room upstairs that can hold 20 people for a meal and karaoke (there is a fee to reserve, but very much worth it). Staff? We were greeted at the door as if we were coming home. Pasha and his staff go above and beyond to make sure all your needs are met. Their suggestions on meal and drink pairings are spot on. I can't thank Pasha and the crew for making our group outing a success. Overall? I'll be going back and I hope that you add this restaurant to your list of 'go to' places to dine at. You will not be disappointed, I promise you. (Unless your attitude stinks or you're not willing to try new food ‍) Pasha again, thank you so much for the hospitality. “Update 8/25/2025:

I wanted to make an update since some things have changed since I initially wrote my first review. This is still easily one of my top three Mediterranean spots in the area. The flavors are always on point, the portions are generous, and the quality has stayed consistent over time. One thing that has changed, though, is the gradual price increase. The chicken kabob plate, which comes with hummus, pita, rice, and salad, used to be about $17 but is now closer to $20 or more. I feel a little conflicted because for the taste and portion size it still feels worth it. At the same time, if you are bringing a date or ordering for more than one person you should expect to spend a bit more than you might anticipate.“

“Since I was born, kabob has been my favorite food, full stop. I’ve had kabob all over LA County. They charge you $38 at Raffi’s and Pardis for a kabob barg plate, give you the same amount of meat, and fill the plate with rice. Masis Kabobs’ food has no flavor; they don’t marinate their meat correctly and don’t cook their tomato enough, as it’s always mostly raw.
Harry over at Moon Mart Kabob gives you the best kabob, jigar, and abgoosht. If it’s you and a few friends, go over to Moon Mart Kabob, and you’ll realize why it’s so good, in my opinion. He charges you $20 for kabob barg, and he’s such a nice guy that you’ll be really happy eating there and giving him your business—not just because of his niceness, but also because he knows his stuff.“
