“This is the first iranian restaurant ive been to that doesnt serve kabob. Its so unique, and all their dishes taste so so so good. Its like traditional home-styled dishes. Amazing. They have some modern twists to some stuff like the appetizers. And they have sekanjebin, I loved it (an apple cider vinegar drink - kinda like poppy but better lol). Im going back forsure. P.S. the ambiance is nice with the old-school iranian decorations and plants. The lamb gheimeh is to die for.“

“Food this good could only be made with a mother's love! Sogol's plate is a great business run by great women and I would definitely recommend their to-go orders for busy students as the ordering and pick-up process were super easy. I ordered the Kotlet sandwich and it was super flavorful. You will not be disappointed and the portions were quite filling. Can't wait to order more amazing meals in the future!“

“This place has become a kind of regular thing for me and a couple of friends. We come for the food, we end up playing backgammon for hours. They're open late, the tea is good even if you only get one refill, and the koobideh here is as good as anywhere on the Westwood strip. The hookah situation is fine, nothing exceptional but it does the job. The real draw is the laid-back Persian lounge atmosphere. Feels like a neighborhood spot for people who actually live around here, not a tourist-facing version of Persian culture. I always leave full and relaxed.“

“Food is excellent. Ordered the chicken thigh kabob and they were juicy and perfect amount of seasoning. We dined in and the portions were a lot. Get the grilled tomato! The pink dressing (I think they use beets) was a nice change. It’s not a fancy place, but it’s clean and employees were very polite. Would go back to try other menu items.“

“Taste of Tehran was my first time eating at a restaurant in Tehrangeles, and it was an awesome choice. This was definitely one of the best Middle Eastern restaurants I've been to in LA. Everything was so great. And yes, I ate a lot of food on the first day here. I started off with some of the stews that included gormeh sabzi, the gheyme, and ash reshteh, which were all very tasty. The surprise hit to me was the Lentil Quinoa Salad. Seriously, one of the best salads I've ever had. It was sweet, refreshing, and savory all at the same time. No words to describe. And then the meats: the koobideh and soltani plate, just fabulous, along with that lentil rice. I can honestly say that Persians make the best rice out of all Middle Eastern countries! Even the barberry rice was amazing. Never had a rice this sweet and fruity before! Overall, an amazing experience. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Don't be fooled by the looks of this place. It looks like a quick, over the counter order type of restaurant, but the food is top notch. Even Anthony Bourdain has been here! “I'm at a loss for words, but I'll try my best. Food? Amazing! Perfect amount of seasoning and the portions are huge! And this is coming from a big dude. For the appetizers, my favorites were the Kashk E'bademjan (Eggplant Delight), Potato Salad, and the Hummus! They have more selections, but this is what I was able to try. I hear all are great! For the Entrees, ALL OF THEIR KABOBS ARE FIRE (MMM MMMM YUMMY). I had a sample of most them and in the islands, we would say "broke da mouf kine", which translates to, the food is *beep beep* GOOD! If you've never had Persian Food, or you love it, this is the restaurant for you! Drinks? I love Korean Soju and Cass beer, so yeah, +10 points from me. They do carry various Wines and Beers though...and of course your choice of Soda Pop. Atmosphere? It' gives you a Kewl Kids Vibe; a classy place where you can be yourself with family and friends and just enjoy each others company. You have your choice of Indoor and Outdoor dinning which is amazing. There's also a private room upstairs that can hold 20 people for a meal and karaoke (there is a fee to reserve, but very much worth it). Staff? We were greeted at the door as if we were coming home. Pasha and his staff go above and beyond to make sure all your needs are met. Their suggestions on meal and drink pairings are spot on. I can't thank Pasha and the crew for making our group outing a success. Overall? I'll be going back and I hope that you add this restaurant to your list of 'go to' places to dine at. You will not be disappointed, I promise you. (Unless your attitude stinks or you're not willing to try new food ‍) Pasha again, thank you so much for the hospitality. “I tried the beef shawarma plate here for lunch and it was delicious. Some places the flavor shifts are you dive into the plate, but this plate had a very consistent and satisfying taste. The staff is busy. The place has a very busy vibe to it with just a few people here.“

“Update 8/25/2025:

I wanted to make an update since some things have changed since I initially wrote my first review. This is still easily one of my top three Mediterranean spots in the area. The flavors are always on point, the portions are generous, and the quality has stayed consistent over time. One thing that has changed, though, is the gradual price increase. The chicken kabob plate, which comes with hummus, pita, rice, and salad, used to be about $17 but is now closer to $20 or more. I feel a little conflicted because for the taste and portion size it still feels worth it. At the same time, if you are bringing a date or ordering for more than one person you should expect to spend a bit more than you might anticipate.“
