“I was in this restaurant for the very first time recently, and I left just completely impressed. I was in town doing business with the great folks at El Cajon Guitars and Music. Getting new strings on my guitar, and Frank and Maria suggested this diner—and I’m so glad I listened to them!
The whole spot is comfortable, but the service is what stood out, as much as my roast beef sandwich.From the minute I walked in the door, Vicky—the owner—was wonderful. She was the only one working there, but she didn’t seem rushed at all. She greeted me with a big, bite, genuine smile right away, and we had a pleasant little conversation. Right off the bat, I didn't feel like just a number; I felt like a true friend, and that warmth made me feel immediately at ease.
I got the roast beef and cheddar sandwich, and I decided to take it to go. I drove over to Lindo Lake to sit and enjoy it, and I must say, the sandwich itself was truly wonderful. The beef had a great flavor, and what made it perfect was the freshness of the fixings, the tomato and lettuce were crisp and bright, which really balanced the meat out. It was so good, in fact, it was almost as good as the ones my Mom used to make, and that’s the highest praise I can give!
In fact, that sandwich was so good, I had a little trouble keeping it all to myself! While I was sitting there, a goose waddled right up and was looking at my sandwich like it wanted a piece of it. I had to laugh; even the local wildlife knows good food when it sees it!
If you're looking for a fantastic sandwich, you absolutely ought to stop in here. I was a first-timer, but It certainly won't be the last visit. My dad always taught me to support the businesses of my friends, and Vicky truly made me feel like a friend. I’ll certainly be back to support her business and try other sandwiches. “Amazing food, the meals look, taste, and are very similar to other locations so that is great, as it is consistent.

The shrimp trio is probably my favorite Taco Tuesday item. Their fish tacos are also very good, as well as the shrimp and bacon burrito. The burritos do have bunch of jalapeno seeds in there that make it really spicy.“

“It was very easy to find and parking on the street, right in front. There was parking in the back but we didn’t use it. We found them on google and were able to peruse their menu prior to arriving. We had the large salad that was made by them after filling out a small order form with what you would like. The proteins were extra. I had the large salad and added egg and chicken. The serving was plentiful and the protein addition was hearty (4 ounces my guess). Two large salads (3 proteins total and two soft drink cans—under $40). My husband needed a restroom and they did not have one for public use. That was a drag. He had to go down the street to find one. The place was relatively clean and there were about 5 booths to choose from. The music was a bit annoying. Staff was friendly!“

“Fast food burger place that started in santa barbara years ago. Everything is made to order. I had the portobello mushroom burger. The sauces were nice. I haven't been I would definitely ask if they could cook the thin burger not quite so dry. My son had a combo plate cheeseburger. No complaints and better than the ones that keep things on steam tables. The fries were good.“

Whatever cook you guys have back there at that time deserves a raise, just because I could tell they have a passion for food and delivering great food to whoever orders. The lady upfront was courteous and professional. I’m a restaurant manager, I would steal whoever made my food back there in an instant.“
