“We wanted a late-night dinner so I ordered ahead on the website for pickup, and receiving my food at the drive thru was very smooth. Simon at the window was super nice and helped check our order was intact. We got the chicken extra crispy and it was so delicious !!!“
“I've heard about his place for a long time but more recently was the first time I went, I thought with "World Famous" in the name it better be good. There are different boneless chicken/chicken wing/sandwich options to choose from. The person at the counter was super helpful, I think I'm decent at spicy food so I ordered my chicken sandwich hot (there's like a scale of 7 categories and hot was the second hottest). The person at the counter suggested I try the medium since it was my first time there. Lucky for me he did, because I found the medium good but challenging. My friend had it mild, and mild still has some spice on their scale, if you wanted no spice there's a "training wheels category".I had a chicken sandwich medium and my corned and I split some loaded fries. The loaded fries with coleslaw, pickles and other sauce helped even a little bit of the spicyness.I'd try it again, maybe after some spicy training.“
“On a whim, my daughter and I stopped here for lunch. We split the regular fried chicken sandwich and, I kid you not, it was the best chicken sandwich I've ever had. The chicken was crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside. It was perfectly cooked. Very flavorful in all the components. Very impressed and will definitely be back the next time I'm in SF.“
“Another PHENOMENAL experience! It's Alameda Restaurant week so busier than usual but we got in at 6:30 Sat and were out by 7:10. Ordered the burger and chick sando- both have been on our minds for a while but we always get Trips Triple and it felt like we were cheating but man was it worth it! DELICIOUS! Kind of wish we got the Crab Stew/Cioppino because it's looked amazing but we have no regrets with our sandwiches and the awesome Brussels sprouts.“
“Came here with some friends who recommended the place. Pizza was very good but a little on the pricey side. Great beer selection. Tried several. Looks like the inside of this place hasn't changed in years. Definitely has a locals kind of feel.“
“Decided on a late night fix for fried chicken and this hit the spot! Got the 6 piece hot and sweet with pickled radish and corn on the cob. Corn on the cob was a little bland but the chicken made up for it! Would definitely dine here again.“
“I stumbled upon this place after having a few drinks at bamboo bar, and I was glad that I did! I ordered the sucio, and a side of potato salad . The chicken sandwich was made perfectly, and it was juicy! It just needed extra sauce, which came at an additional cost of $1.25, for a small container (insert sad broke face) . The potato salad needed a bit more flavor too. The service was really chill, and even offered to let me charge my phone while I was waiting! Over all I would most definitely stop by, and try my sandwich with another side.“
“The Bay Area seems to have nice places to have a good chicken sandwich. This is one of the nice places I've tried. The inside seemed a bit empty but lovely with the 'All you need is hot chicken'. Service was clunky but thorough. Waiting time was fine. I did notice that their fry selection is not too extensive. I went with waffle fries and the regular hot chicken sandwich, I believe medium was the spice level. I can recall there were layers of sweetness. The coleslaw was sweet to me, not sure if it was the pickles as well. The flavour was nice. The spice was potent but not extreme; very comfortable while I watched people pass by. Waffle fries were crispy and fresh. The sauce was more on the sweet side but a good layer of flavour. Water and utensils are self served by the doorway. Right in the middle of downtown Oakland. Easily accessible with public transport.“
“Mikko's Tier List Reviews~ Food - Hard to go wrong with the food! Whoever is cooking is talented but tbh it's hard to mess up this type of food. Price - bit expensive for this type of food, which it was 1-2$ cheaper for all items Ambience/Atmosphere - Casual and quick, not much to say Wait time - None when I went, lots of open seats Individual Dish Ratings - Chopped Cheese - Solid overall, flavors were great Tier Verdict - S+ Tier (out of SS, normie grade is 90/100)“
“Oh my the place resembles a true image of a "hole in the wall", but Oh!, don't let the location nor look fool you. The food is absolutely amazing! The chicken will have you thinking, "This reminds me of home!" The sides were delicious too and lastly, the counter staff were very polite and respectful. When I'm in the area, I'm most definitely going to return to, Gus' World Famous Fried Chicken!!!“
“Relaxed setting to get their famous fried chicken sandwich with a chicken claw in it! The official menu item is the Claude the Claw. If you go frequently, they give you a card where after you order 10 sandwiches and get the next one free!“
“This is THE spicy chicken sandwich restaurant in the Bay Area. The spice level is perfect, they use dark meat (not white meat), and the rest of the sandwich complements the chicken perfectly. Love this place and would recommend it to all spicy lovers.“
“I'll start by saying that I really love NLB and NLC, the food is so dang good. I'm giving four stars because they clucked up one of the things we ordered. The Cali Cluckwich came with no tempeh bacon or avocado added on, and we didn't have time to get it fixed because we were crunched for time on a work lunch break. Without the extra ingredients added, it was a little plain and just a classic cluckwich. We didn't even have time to get a refund or anything.Other than that, taste-wise the food was good. Also, I've always loved the customer service at the San Francisco location, the employees are always so happy and friendly.Hunny Hickory TenderClucks were delicious. I chose all fries, no slaw, and it might have been one of the largest sides of fries I've ever got at a restaurant.Vegetarian options: Fully vegan! Awesome!“
“Fiji Fry House is between a Salvadoran bakery at the end of the block and a car repair shop across the street. The shop has an American and Fiji flag at it's side, the only decor visible. The food differs from other Fiji eats i've tasted. The food here has it's distinctness and it's influences from Indian food. Offerings: appetizers, curry tacos, Fiji fried chicken, curry rice box, ala carte, desserts, drinks... Drill: order by phone or at window, pay, food cooked to order. Eats: bhajia (9.75) -similar to pakora. Distinct in having thin flour coating, not a thick batter. 4 pieces of grounded spinach, veggies are moist throughout not dry. Has a chutney dipping sauce. Lamb & potato curry (19.75) -crunchy papadum wafer with flavorful vegetable pulao rice of fresh kachumber, pickled veggies, tumeric to soak up masala gravy. -lamb & potato in tomato and spicy masala gravy adds a spicy kick. Very fulfilling. *couple of tables nearby to dine on. **many entrees have a fusion theme combing Indian & Fiji cooking techniques..da best of 2 cuisines.“
“I've been meaning to try Dave's Hot Chicken for awhile after seeing their LA and Denver locations! Went to a show at the Paramount Theater and walked over to Dave's. The menu is pretty simple with their different order packages (Sliders/ tenders with sides). Went for the number 2 which comes with 2 sliders and a side of fires. It's cool you can pick two different spice levels for each slider! Got the Mild and Hot to try ($16 total). The Hot is bearable and you won't be dying for water (it's Extra Hot or higher that will get you to that burn feeling!) You can also order some of their sauce and honey to add on to your sliders and it's bomb! The fries are also cooled perfectly (and you can immediately dig right in without it burning your fingers or tongue). I'd definitely come back here!“
“17Nov23 Love this place and over the phone yesterday an employee said they would be closing at 3pm today, Friday, Nov 17th. So, call if you have specific needs and time limitations. In short, do not expect them to be open until 6pm as listed on their website and here on Yelp.“
“Wow this place is amazing!!!! Every slider is packed with a flavorful punch!!! Be warned the levels of spiciness range from low to extreme. I respect Dave’s Hot Chicken for keeping their menu affordable to the community, thank you for that. The sliders are cooked to order, very juicy, flavorful and HUGE! If you are not adding honey to your slider you are eating it wrong!!!! Eat the slider with honey folks, you will experience a powerful majestic energy within your mouth as you devour the monstrous slider. Love this place!!!To the owner: I suggest adding some music to the place.“
“Still great years later. Very flavorful sandwich with nice crispy tofu. Limited choices but what they make they do well. Good design inside with more room for seating than I expected. Large, open room with tall tables at back and window seating up front.“
“The fish sandwich special for $4 is ? so delicious!! It definitely ain't your average McDonald's fish sandwich!!The 8 piece catfish with a side is what I got and the fish was so good!! Their yams YESSSS! The Mac and cheese got a little kick, tastes like they used gouda! Very good I'll be back soon... they close early which sucks! Yall should be open til 10!!“
“BEST Korean Fried Chicken!! It even tastes good as leftovers - that's if you can hold back from eating everything in one sitting. 10/10 would recommend! Bookmark this place and you be the judge!* Fried Seaweed Rolls* Jalapeño Poppers* Takoyaki* Signature Three Flavors* Large Honey Butter Garlic* Special Curry Plate* Kimchi Fried Rice“
“We had What the Cluck cater and the food was delicious! We had the crunchy chicken with rice, it came with a sweet sour looking sauce and cucumber slices. We also had the mango sticky rice. Ordering was easy and delicious! I would come again.“
“Amazing food. Really good, polite service. I was with a group of 2 and we got the Ravioli and a Pepperoni sausage pizza to share. They misheard our order, and gave us a pepperocini sausage pizza instead, but we tried it and it was very high quality. It tasted really good and we got to try something we wouldn’t have otherwise. The Ravioli is really good. The plating was excellent and the fried ravioli was arranged so the sauce wouldn’t get it soggy. The Alfredo sauce tasted like it was made in house, and the chicken paired really well with it. I ordered bacon on top, and they gave me more than I was expecting, which was a pleasant surprise. Overall the meal felt very satisfying, the staff was pleasant, and it had a great atmosphere.“
“My go to for consistently good food! Right down the street from me is Split, over the last year it has become my favorite spot to enjoy lunch that is delicious and healthy every time. Split is clean, has a simple and nice atmosphere, and the entire crew are very agreeable and helpful! My favorite dish is the Cobb Salad with crispy chicken, but I pretty much love every salad on the menu. My breakfast go to is the huevos rancheros, lunch- one of the many salad offerings, always with crispy chicken added, and for dinner the reserve burger with bacon and horseradish mayo is Ono!“
“Whenever I'm in the area this is an absolute must go to restaurant for me. Everything is good, but the garlic fries are the best I've ever ever ever ever ever tasted. They are not soggy like most other garlic fries. They say crispy and they are absolutely flavorful. I definitely recommend them. I Really like ginger beer So that combination is a good one for me.“
“Overall a good experience. The vibe of the restaurant was cool and the food was good. We got both flavors of the Korean fried chicken and a veggie kimbap. The chicken was crispy and the sauces were delicious. Only complaint is that it's located in a not so great area.“
“All I can say is WOW!Beerbelly Bob and I were down in the Mission doing a little recon for Umberto Salazar Zapata, because he wants to move his shop specializing in custom hand made Cowboy boots ~el Zapata de Vaquero, from Sedona Arizona. We found the perfect location for his shop, and it's just a little bit from the Pollo Campero Restaurant! It'll be the perfect location. It's a first time eating at Pollo Campero for me, and the food was amazing. 5 stars ☆☆☆☆☆“
“Lunch at The Roost is one of our favorites in SF. As a pescatarian, this is actually the ONLY chicken I eat, anywhere - and it is delicious. The adobo seasoning is fabulous. Cole slaw has a unique flavor that I wish I could replicate at home. Do try the sweet potato croquettes, but leave room for their brown butter cookies!“
“The food here is amazing I always grab their fries and fried chicken as it's extremely crispy and juicy. They have amazing service all the time and the ambiance of the location is just great with amazing decor for pictures. Sadly it's located further away from all the other food locations so it isn't very popular.“
“Hidden takeout spot inside a spacious Dogpatch building. Loved the larb tofu, the flavors, the crispiness. The broccoli was okay, a bit bitter, almost as if the seasoning was slightly burnt. The curry was very oily, but very delicious. Portions are on the small side, but the low prices reflect that. The person we picked up the food from was very friendly. The menu is limited, but if you're looking for some simple Thai food and flavors, some is better than nothing!“
“Been here a couple of times and the food is good and consistent. It's never overcrowded and the food is ready fairly quick. I was going to go for the reaper level hot but they wanted me to sign a waiver so I passed. I think I will go for it next time. I usually get the two sliders and fries. The pickles are always crisp and fresh. Good food and service all the way around.“
“Everything was so flavorful! I had the chicken sandwich and mashed potato balls. As full as I was because of how big that sandwich was I had to finish it because it was so good lol The staff was also really friendly. It feels nice supporting a local business when it's ran by good people.“
“So a lot of these pictures are of the bar across the street from this place. White House liquor is the storefront that is also an authorized Krispy krunchy chicken. They usually sell out of the chicken by 6pm and the rest isn't fresh anymore after 8 forsure. They sell lottery scratches and blunts and backwoods if your in need and don't want to buy like 20 at a time“
“Absolutely huge and amazing tenders, great service and honestly I love the small town vibe.I came here almost every day in 2018!Vegetarian options: Salads are available!Dietary restrictions: They’re able to accommodate if you ask!Parking: Right out in front is a crosswalk, but there’s street parking and a paid lot nearbyKid-friendliness: Great for kids! People bring them all the time!Wheelchair accessibility: Door opens for wheelchairs! Flat entrance to street.“
“This is am eating establishment I'll have to go to a few more times. I'd been watching video recipes of Hainanese Chicken Rice and checking Yelp, I was excited to find this eatery close by my employer.can't remember if I first stopped by on a Tuesday or Wednesday and while it showed open, they were I'm facto closed. Decided to try the, on a Friday around noon. With the farmers market in full swing in Old Oakland, I made the 15 minute walk to What the Cluck. I'd ordered ahead and my food, in a bag was waiting for me. Another 15 minutes to get back to work and needless to say the food was no longer warm. Not the fault of What theCluck and I could have heated it an oven or microwave. Opening it, like the dish, worldwide, it's relatively unimpressive looking. Lots of white from the poached chicken to the rice and the light colored broth. Still was the flavor with the price? Overall, it was satisfying, the chicken was moist and flavorful, with a nice fluffed rice with notes of chicken fat. The broth was simple by tasty and accompanied the chicken rice nicely. I did use the chili dipping sauce p, which topped off Friday meal. Would I go back? Yup! I plan on returning for this same dish and a chance to try others.. This was something a bit different from the usual Asians hole the wall places I usually favor in Chinatown.“
“We've gotten food from here a few years ago and weren't that impressed. We tried it again recently and pleasantly discovered it's totally delicious! All of our chicken pieces were large, juicy, and flavorful. They gave us ample salsas and tortillas, all neatly packed. I haven't written a review in years but this place deserves one for turning it around with its attention to food quality, careful packaging, and flavor! We'll be back soon, thank you!“
“I moved to the Bay Area from Atlanta Ga just 6 months ago. In Atlanta CFA was a go to for me as they are on every corner. Since moving to the Bay Area being able to still have my chicken sandwich and soup has been everything to me - a little piece of back home. I am also pregnant with my first child and all I can eat with ease is chick fil a chicken noodle soup.Thank you to the team at Emeryville Chick Fil A for always getting my order out quickly, correct and still piping hot! I love you!!“
