“Generally reluctant to get Asian food outside of Kearny Mesa but I was pleasantly surprised! Ordered the stone pot with beef and a side of kimchi. The bowl was well balanced with all the veggies and having the option to additionally season your bowl is nice. I will say that it does come with an absolute minimal serving of protein (maybe 2 or 3 oz total) in the bowl and $4 for a tiny side of kimchi is a bit outrageous (total serving size pictured), but can't deny that it was delicious. I'd prefer to go to Kearny but if I was around the area and craving bibimbap, it's a decent option.“
“Came to try out the gimbap. I was not disappointed. They have slightly more filling then some of the other gimbaps that I have tried. We also got the Korean short ribs. Everything was good along with the sides that they give you. It is more on the pricey side which is the only downfall. The restaurant itself has no place to sit inside. You order at the counter and can take your foot outside to eat at one of the tables in the courtyard.“
“Craving for Korean Tofu soup and didn’t want to drive too far. Was looking for a good substitution.Overall, food quality is 3.5; serving 4; ambiance 4 (has a sports bar vibe).Bibimbop(stone rice pot): the pot is not hot enough to make a single burnt rice. Taste OK.Cheese tater tots was excellent when it was right out of the kitchen and hot.Seoul spicy sandwich: hugh portion but not spicy at all to the person’s standard.Service was good. We got seated promptly. Food orders were at good time interval.“
“Salmon roll super fresh, great promo on sake right now, authentic atmosphere. Not a ton of gluten free options but I'm pretty happy with the basics. Our server, Aria, was very thoughtful and considerate making sure we had a good experience...we had been outside and caught in a surprise downpour and were cold and wet. She brought is hot water with lemon to help us warm up because it was too late in the day for us for any caffeinated green tea.“
“The young man who was our waiter was very nice and checked on us often. We came for lunch on a Thursday and we were the only ones in the restaurant. It looks like they do a lot of take outs though.I got the lunch combo which came with two drum sticks, and four wings. I chose half and half: soy garlic and spicy. The spicy had a kick and was definitely spicy. So good! The soy garlic was a little sweet but still tasty. The pickle radish side was just a small condiment cup of cubes. The seasoned fries was a better choice.“
“The food was really good. I was amazed by the speedy service. The service was amazing as they were really nice and kept checking on us. The outdoor atmosphere was great, however, there was only one restroom and it was always occupied. Other than that, I will return to this location. Great job.“
“Really nice fusion of Korean style corn dogs and Mexican Fruteria flavors. Simple and straightforward menu and minimal interior, they put the focus on getting some good food to you quickly.Enjoying with a slush drink is fantastic on a warm day.“
“This was genuinely some of the best and juiciest chicken I have ever had in my entire life. Staff was kind and very patient as we have never been here before and wanted to read through the menu for a bit. It's hard to find good Korean Fried Chicken in SoCal outside of LA but this absolutely hit the spot and I'll be back here next time I'm in the area!!!!!!“
“J Box @ The Island is by far my favorite lunch spot. I come here at least 1-2 times per week. They have the freshest Poke around. They really ruined all the other Poke places for me because every time I try one - I always compare it to theirs and it is never as good.“
“Had a yummy lunch at Chinese Korean fusion restaurant CHIKO. We sat on the dog friendly patio where you order through QR codes on the table. We ordered the XO shrimp, spicy kumin lamb stir fry, and pork belly bao. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the food comes out quick. Recommend, not many Asian fusion restaurants in the area.“
