“While visiting Marin County on a Thursday, local bartenders recommended Mac’s in Fairfax. They’re open pretty late and have both indoor and outdoor seating. They also have a stage where it looks like they have live music. We came later on closer to midnight and it looked like many locals go there to hang out for a drink. They have a full bar and many cocktail menus. There’s street parking and people can bring their dogs inside!“

“Easily one of the best restaurants in town. It's dimly lit and there's a great local vibe about. I guess I'll never not get nervous when an attractive lady sits next to me. I'm just happy that I didn't spill my drink. Maybe if she wasn't so attached to her phone I could have made eye contact. Great Chicken Sammy. “Been a customer since the eighties . Deer park villa was the name then. Outstanding food as usual and the people are amazing. once u get into the property reminds me of boulder Creek. Redwood stands are a California Monument.“

“I work nearby, and finally had the opportunity to stop by and have an early evening cocktail. That was the best French 76 I have ever had! The bartenders were friendly and engaging, the music was interesting and fun, and sparked conversation between a few of us strangers at the bar. “My wife and I were first-time visitors. As we approached the restaurant, we were somewhat apprehensive given its location in a strip shopping center. Once we entered, we were pleasantly surprised by the quaint and cozy setting. Great ambiance, service, and the food was even better. The best thing was the butter cake for dessert, which evoked strong emotions in my wife and me. It was that good.“

“Above Fifth is the rooftop bar of the AC Hotel in San Rafael, CA. The hotel is part of the Marriott hotel franchise. Yes, a franchise hotel is in downtown San Rafael. Times are a changin'.

Anyways, the bar is open 4pm-11pm Wednesday-Sunday, closed on Monday - Tuesday. The hotel is about 54 feet tall so it is not particular tall, but tall enough for some awesome views of downtown, surrounding hills, and Mount Tam. The seating area, like the hotel, has modern upscale aesthetics with relaxed vibes.

The views are gorgeous. The staff are sweethearts, five star service. The drinks and tapas menu price points are of course pricey. But what was up with the stained paper menus. Eww. Anyways, the fam ordered drinks (cocktails and non-alcoholic drinks) and tapas of olives, hummus and pita, and fingerling potatoes. The olives were delicious and it was a good medley of various kinds. The fingerling potatoes were a bit boring tasting, it could use more seasonings for added zing. Not sure how the green hummus tasted, I snoozed on that one.

Overall, the drinks are good, ambiance fantastic, and the food is meh. This is a type of place I would go for special occasions and not on a regular basis, my wallet cannot sustain it.“

“A reasonable dive bar amidst the calamity of North Bay price gouging. Good atmosphere and fun daytime pit stop if killing time.

Cannot speak to night time vibes, but will revisit for prices and atmosphere and the juxtaposition to the ridiculousness around it.“

“Best food and drinks all weekend long. Marco was just an amazing individual. He made our anniversary even more special. My husband is a huge mezcal fan and asked if there was a drink the bartender could make and sure enough they made the most spectacular drink! We loved the food and drinks so much we stopped in after our long hike from Angel Island. I ordered the same mezcal drink as my husband did the night before. G was just an amazing bartender and helped us out with all the different types of mezcal and what characteristics they bring to the table. Marco even recognized us and said you guys are back. I have been telling everyone about your amazing restaurant and not just the quality of food but just the atmosphere and experience we had with the staff. They are all welcoming and make you feel like family.“

“We had friends coming to visit from Arizona and wanted to take them somewhere special for dinner. We heard about the newly reopened Paseo in Mill Valley and decided to try it. We were welcomed by the friendly manager Kevin as we entered. After giving us a tour we were seated in the main dining room by a cozy fireplace. We ordered cocktails along with a charcuterie board and roasted Brussels sprouts. At the recommendation of our knowledgeable waiter Will, my sister and I ordered the beet salad. One of our guests had the Market Green Salad and another raved about her Potato Leek Soup. Wanting to try different entrees we ordered California Halibut, Braised Osso Busco, Mary's Chicken Breast, Rib Eye Steak, and Roasted Duck Breast with orange glaze. The taste and presentation exceeded our expectations. As we were enjoying coffee along with Chocolate Indulgence, a (layered torte) and a Peanut Crunch Bar, Chef Branden approached our table to see how we enjoyed our meal. We all told him how much we enjoyed the food, his beautiful presentation, and the smiling staff. We had a great five star experience and will definitely be back!“

The food and drinks were exceptional, the view from our table window was beautiful and the ambience warm and comfortable. What impressed me the most was the support shown by the maître d to his staff. The restaurant was busy but the service did not suffer. The maître d greeted customers, took drink and appetizer orders and checked in to ensure everyone was happy. We already look forward to a return visit.“

“I've been going to Flores since it opened in San Francisco. I moved to the east bay a few years ago and was so happy that Flores opened up in Corte madera since I wasn't in San Francisco that much. The food and staff are always amazing. To was a family night out my son who is now 7months old enjoyed his beans so much. We will continue to support and dine at Flores!“

I have been coming to this Nordstrom since it was built in the 80's. I have never eaten here. This place is awesome and I will be back as the menu looks fantastic.“
