“I’ve been going to this bakery since I was a kid and the sprinkle cookies haven’t changed at all. They’re still as light, buttery and delicious as always. They’re also an amazing price for a pack of ten. Highly recommend and don’t forget to bring cash!“

“Went at 3pm on a Monday and it was not busy. The barista up front was
very friendly and helped me pick both a drink and a bag of beans to take home. I could not have asked for better customer service.
I ordered the black forest latte and it was an easy 5/5 for me. Not too sweet while, having a strong coffee taste with a hint of cherry and the cookie crumbs rounding it out. I will come back to order it again or try other drinks.“

“I took my very picky 95 year old mother for dinner. We were warned by a friend to order in advance, which was key. She had an enormous fried chicken dinner, which while a bit pricey was delicious. We did use napkins to soak up the oil on the plate first.
I had the Fish and Chips, and it was delicious. Ordered my mom's chicken ahead by 25 minutes. So we only had a five minute wait for her food, important since "hangry" is her middle name.
The one downside which basically ruined dinner for us, and other diners, were a family whose kid was literally screaming, laughing at the top of her lungs for 45 minutes straight. The family sat at the farthest end of the restaurant while their noisy daughter was two tables away. Screaming.
We couldn't hear ourselves talk, and she was literally louder than everything else in the restaurant. The staff were young and hard working, understaffed if anything, and the manager should have had a chat with the family about quieting the child or leaving. It was unconscionably unacceptable behavior by the parents. We figured the daughter was 5-7.
I'm the father of two boys, one of whom was "spirited", but we never allowed that behavior. We either didn't go out with them until they showed they could behave properly, or in the case of a meltdown, we promptly took them outside till they cooled off. We had more than a few dinners where one of us sat in the car with one of boys! Family friendly does not mean "out of control" playground behavior.
I suppose it's not fair to ask the young kids working there to be put in the position of reminding parents that they need to respect their fellow diners. Especially with the level of hate and rage in current society.
But it's also not the role of the customers. We did see a large family wait for five minutes to order, discuss the screaming kid, and left, unable to tolerate it. Oh, and they had kids with them the same age.
Parking was a bit strange. You park in the lot, go through a gate that locks behind you, into the restaurant. But... that same gates locks so you have to walk around the restaurant into the parking lot to get back to your car. You can't use the gate. Not an issue for me, especially after all that fattening food, but my mom was in a wheelchair, so I propped open the gate, walked to the car in the disabled spot, drive closer to my mom, and fetched her and brought her to the car. So if you have folks with you that have limited mobility be aware. This was on a Saturday night, so maybe the gate isn't locked during the day.
The food was great, I'd recommend to plan and order ahead if you don't want a long wait. Not inexpensive or fast food, but worth it. We'll go again.
Parking: See my post for details.
Kid-friendliness: See post.
Wheelchair accessibility: Yes, but beware of the locking gate. See post.“

“My family and friends in Orange County-California often come to Van's Bakery to buy cakes, candy, beef jerky and especially delicious coffee. We then moved to Texas but continued to buy and they delivered to our door fast and on time. The dedicated service of the Owner and staff is commendable. Vietnamese friends should stop by and buy products from Van's Bakery, famous in Little Saigon Vietnamese community. As 2024 begins, we wish Owners and staff a Happy & prosperous New Year! “We love Paris Baguette and are never disappointed with the pastries. We particularly like this location - it’s clean, spacious, numerous open tables, and a large pastry and cake selection. We tried the chocolate croissant and chocolate supreme croissant. The original one is a bit better but both were so delicious and we can’t wait to try more goodies in the future!“

“This boba shop is a hidden gem! Not only do they serve fantastic drinks, but their mochi doughnuts are absolutely to die for. The boba drinks are perfectly balanced, not overly sweet, and you can really taste the quality of the ingredients. They offer a great variety of flavors, and everything is customizable to your liking.
The mochi doughnuts are a must-try—crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside, and just the right amount of sweetness. They have a range of unique flavors that keep me coming back, from classic ones to more adventurous options. The combination of the chewy texture and the rich glaze makes each bite pure bliss.
Whether you're grabbing a drink or indulging in their delicious doughnuts, you won't be disappointed. The staff is friendly, the atmosphere is welcoming, and everything is made fresh. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a sweet treat and a refreshing drink!“
“Went to inquire about the white rice cake for 100 day celebration and ended up buying some of their rice cakes that were ready made. In addition to the other common rice cakes, they had some that aren’t as available at the market and have to say, the pumpkin roll rice cake and the chestnut/pumpkin/raisin rice cake, which were both sweet were delicious!! The other rice cakes are good as well. The owners were sweet old and honest people, so definitely a plus!“

“I ordered the pork banh mi and an iced coffee, it came out to $10 and some change. Banh mi has a decent amount of meat, pork is soft and the baguette is nice. Good sandwich at a decent price.
There are a good amount of unlisted items here, desserts and snacks etc prepackaged on the counter as well as whats on the menu.“

“Been going here for years since i was kid. One of the best (and cheapest) places for a decent meal. Banh mi stands up really well (only a few places nearby beat it, but the prices are slightly higher) and prepackaged food is decent enough. Atmosphere is
meh, but you are usually here to grab and go, not sit down.
Just, never, ever, get the boba.“

“I've had OCI Polynesian Store saved in my bookmarks for weeks and finally had the chance to visit with friends! We made sure to come in a Sat to try the hot foods 🤙🏻
Entering the store we were given a warm welcome!! We've never had Polynesian food before and the nice woman running the hot food section was kind enough to explain all the foods they had available. At the same time there was also had a little cafe stand called Koava that was handing out sample drinks which were amazing!!
At the end we walked away with a Vai Mago (mango drink), Classic Koko drink and Taro + Lamb Curry box combo. Absolutely loved our drinks and the food was great too! I can't wait to come back next week and hopefully try their pork belly bun + pineapple pie! 🫶🏻“
“Fast services and friendly staff. The ladies always greeted us with their brightest smiles. Roasted pork baguette and egg coffee are worth trying. Also recommend durian coffee for durian lovers. I oftentimes saw them crack fresh durian and put a generous amount on our drink. I have tried most highly rated coffee shops in OC, coffee here are a bit stronger than most. Definitely a hidden gem“

“Finding a good Galette des Rois can be a challenge, but every year, I always come back to Boulangeries for this traditional French treat. The filling here is incredibly rich and flavorful, striking the perfect balance without being overly sweet. The pastry crust is delightfully crispy and buttery, adding a luxurious texture to every bite. At $34 for a 7-inch galette, it’s absolutely worth the price for the quality you get. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to enjoy an authentic and delicious Galette des Rois!“
