“I called when the shop already closed and the baker told me to call back after 30mins so he can clean up a bit. The service is on top tier he said that he tried to read the phone manual just to find my phone number. How sweet he is. I dont know about cake sizes so I said i want 8" for 6people and he stop me and told me i should get 6' instead since 8' is too big. I surprised, every business try to up sale but they only want the best for their customers. Huge respect and the strawberry shortcake.... Chef kiss do i have to explain more? Go get the dam cake“

Moses Bread Bakery • $
2405 N Tustin Ave, Santa Ana

“This place is something special. It's owned and operated by this couple that's passionate about sourdough bread. You can order two days in advance or they also have same-day ordering. Their online system starts at 9am and the bread gets sold out quickly! After I ordered, I went to pick it up and there was a sign that said they're out of bread unless you ordered it online. They also have a dehydrated mother starter but I haven't tried that yet. I have tried the sourdough boule and the rosemary boule and both were amazing. I'm excited to try their baguettes too and the sandwich bread. It's located in a small strip mall and I found parking easily. It's my go-to bakery now.“

Very fluffy conchas and sweet orejitas they’re all really delicious. A little bit expensive and limited hours but I do recommend giving this place a shot :)“

“2nd visit here. Ice cream was great the first time, I don't recall if I tried the cookies. Got a couple cookies tonight and, while warm and gooey, they were too gooey. The center is actually still raw. Flavors are there, I like what they're going for. But sadly I had to throw out the best part of the cookie - the center :( I would be willing to try again assuming this was an anomaly.“

Mrs. Fields Bakery • $$
2800 N Main St #672, Santa Ana

“After having lunch nearby I was walking through the Main Place Mall and saw Mrs. Fields, a mainstay of many malls for billions of years. It's located at the entrance of the 2nd floor food court. A couple cookies seemed like a fantastic idea for a post-lunch dessert so I took a look at their offerings. A chocolate chip cookie and another cookie with tiny M&Ms were my choices. The woman at the counter was quite friendly and quickly bagged my cookies. Both were soft, moist and slightly warm. Plenty of chocolate chips in the one and the baby M&Ms in the other were surprisingly softer than expected. I enjoyed both. Prices aren't bad either!“

Chelo's Bakery Bakery • $
5403 W 1st St, Santa Ana

“This was a great first impression. I will definitely be coming back to explore more of this place's amazing creations. I literally just walked in on a whim today, so I decided to experience an authentic panderia for the first time on a rainy day. Very welcoming, clean and accessible parking! The girl behind the counter was accommodating in explaining some of the different foods they specialized in. I trusted her and ordered both the pork and chicken tamales, which were terrific prices and tasted perfect. Freshly baked, warm tamales with tender meat in every bite, almost like a patty, marinated in their respective sauces. This simple delight speaks directly to the soul. This place is one among few of the truly hidden gems that Santa Ana has to offer. I'm glad that I got the chance today to begin a new expedition into a goldmine of culture and tradition baked fresh every day. If you don't believe me, take a chance and try it for yourself“

Donut Villa Donut Shops • $
801 N Fairview St, Santa Ana

“Good basic donuts for a dollar. Once in a while I get charged a little more--I'm guessing I bought a filled one. It's my go-to donut place. Cheap, fast, easy. I have not seen an apple fritter here. But old fashioned, bars, small rounds with sprinkles on top are all well represented. I haven't seen the ham and cheese item available the other reviewers report is so good. If the shelves are empty, it's worthwhile to call out and see if they're about to bring out more. Some of the help is more cheerful than others. The older lady is especially nice. Seem to be a lot of different people working here for such a small place. Some too are better at English than others. When I first came, I asked how late they were open. She said 4 pm. Maybe we misunderstood each other. It looks more like they shut down at noon. Nothing fancy. Highly recommended.“
