“Balboa Island Baking Company is the embodiment of what a cute, local, and utterly delicious bakery should be.

Walked in for the first time today, and was immediately greeted with a smile and kind service. After asking for recommendations (and realizing we missed the cinnamon rolls and sticky pecan rolls, sadly), I got the pecan roll pieces bag, a strawberry scone, and a coconut almond scone. It all blew me away.

First of all, the pecan roll pieces. They warm them up for you, and it is gooey, sweet, cinnamon-y heaven in a bag. I could not stop myself from grabbing bite after bite. If you are the kind of person who loves the center of a sweet roll, then this was made for you, my friend. Next is the strawberry scone with its delectable glaze. The scone itself is a perfect texture, and somehow infused with that fresh, strawberry flavor we all know and love. Finally is the coconut almond scone, also a perfect texture. While not as sweet as it's fruity sister, it has great flavor and I love how much coconut is studded throughout.

So, if you want a little sweet treat to start your day with the bonus of supporting a local gem, then be sure to visit asap!“

“I recently visited a bakery and tried their croissants and brownies. Both were incredibly moist and flavorful. The croissants had a perfect flaky texture, and the brownies were rich and decadent. Highly recommend this place“

“Was by the beach this day and decided to go into Balboa. There are a few frozen banana places in Balboa but this place caught my eye because they also sold hippo cookies (I bought one is not pictured).

The chocolate bananas are great for a hot day. They have a lot of fun coatings you can do. We did the Oreo and the everything coating. The hippo cookie was also very good. Definitely would come again.“

“Waaaaaay BETTER than Sugar and Spice! Too Sweet / Tutti Fruity uses real chocolate as opposed to Sugar and spices non dairy milk chocolate? We drove 40 minutes and made the mistake of getting our frozen bananas at sugar n spice but were disappointed in their milk chocolate. Super thin and no chocolate taste.

Stopped in at Tutti Fruity / Too Sweet to see what their chocolate covered frozen bananas were and HANDS DOWN! AMAZING! Thicker chocolate and the chocolate actually tastes like delicious chocolate!

“We have the most incredible experience for a birthday party for my 6-year-old. Chandra was so helpful. She went above and beyond to make this an amazing experience for my daughter and her cousins. Karen did an incredible job on the face paint and balloons. They even made sure to include my nephew and brought him out sword balloons and activities to participate as well last minute. We were so thankful for the thought and dedication the team put in. I would definitely recommend wonderland bakery to all families looking to celebrate.“

“I have been coming here for years. I love their donuts, chocolate croissants and also the #4 for a breakfast bagel (which is an everything bagel with egg, cheese and bacon). They have a wide variety of donuts. They also have a fridge full of drinks as well as freshly brewed coffee. You're guaranteed to find something you like for the whole family. Their customer service is also top notch. They're so kindly and friendly!“

“I just went in to get a cinnamon pretzel. As I walked through the door this young kid with dark hair and glasses came running to greet me. He made my night, he was so cute. He looked very excited to welcome me and he was so over the top nice he made me laugh. It wasn't just to me either, a couple walked in behind me and he was just as thrilled to help them as well. “Hi Pandor. My local Nisa store has started to or maybe for a while,, stocking your loaths. One particular one I've tried so far is what they refer to as the Granny Brown. Has a sort of nutty flavour and is like a full whole meal although rustic style small bloomer. It's my new favourite and a Son of a baker, let me complement you on a nice shop loaf. I wondered however. The paper bag with a transparent window, says it's 100% recyclable. I then to tear the plastic/transparent window out of bakery etcsemi paper bags and seperate transparent to landfil and paper to compost. Although I'd like to know is the peper suitable for compost. I wonder what makes the transparent window recyclable, so I can check with my local council if their recycling systems/contractors have the means to recycle it, before I tear it apart. What is the the transparent window made of if not plastic? Thanks“
