We had a cashier server named Tiani. She was so kind to my wife and I, gave us sincere service with a smile and checked on us after we started the grub fest just because.

She also gave us recommendations and insight on the differences between the spices for the chicken

“If you’re reading this, here’s the short version: this is easily one of the best restaurants in Culver City, and you need to try it now!

It’s a small spot in downtown Culver City that you could walk past without noticing. I’m glad I didn’t. There are a couple of tables outside, but most of the seating is indoors. The space is modern, clean, and relaxing.

We ordered three dishes, all recommended by our waiter. The mussel toast is a must. Every bite is savory and packed with seafood flavor. For mains, we had the short rib and rainbow trout. The short rib was perfection. Cooked over fire and served with crispy potato strings. It’s something you get at high-end steakhouse but at half the price. The rainbow trout looked beautiful and tasted fresh, though the citrus was a bit stronger than I prefer.

For dessert, we couldn’t resist the churro and ice cream sandwich. The ice cream (another must try), sourced from a Persian maker, was rich with rose, honey, and pistachio. The presentation was just as impressive. The churros were decent, though I wished they were crispier and the dipping sauce was thicker.

Overall, I’d give this place a solid five stars. The food is close to Michelin quality without the Michelin prices. Go and you won’t be disappointed.“

Start with the Marinated Olives, briny and fragrant with orange, lavender, and garlic confit. The Wild Mexican White Shrimp skewers were bright and tender with preserved lemon vinaigrette, and the Brussels Sprouts with date purée and brown butter were absolutely unforgettable. The Spiced Lamb Bolognese Radiatore was rich, savory, and the perfect way to round out the meal.

Our server was quick, attentive, and made easy adjustments for my friend’s non-dairy restriction without compromising the flavors. Every plate came out beautifully presented and full of flavor.

“So I’ll start this by saying that I’ve eaten a lot of gyros in my life. I like gyros. So when I saw there was a spot near me serving gyros, it really excited me and filled a craving that I had for awhile.
I got two lamb gyros with feta cheese and extra tomato/onions. I was greeted with a smile and a laugh from an extremely nice couple. They got my food to me quick and I devoured both. Honestly I could’ve just done one with how big they were.

Standouts for me were the kafta kabob and the gyro meat. I was very impressed with the authenticity of the flavors and the loving care put into the preparation and the presentation. And, the accompanying baba ganoush was very fresh and tasty. David, the chef and owner (along with his wife) is very friendly and welcoming. When you need a Shawarma, World Famous Grill is here to deliver. The Shawarma was great and I tried the Chicken and The beef because of a confusion, at the end I won... They were both delicious and different. I'm still trying to know how the baklava was. It melt in my mouth. Next time, I will try it slower, but with the amazing taste, I doubt it will be possible.“
