“We often bring out-of-towners here because it's hard to find Laotian food outside of the Bay and Vientian Cafe always delivers. The menu is super extensive and very reasonably priced, so you can try a bunch of new things each time. We always get the nam kao and the lao sausage (which you can also take home frozen). Angel wings are also super addictive.

Food also travels well if you're looking for takeout. One of our favorite spots in the east bay!“

“Just happened to stop by, because Food Mill is right next's door . Was just gonna just get some Thai ice tea, but they had Thai ice coffee and just went with that. Spotted Thai boat noodle on the menu.... It's been awhile.... So took it TOGO. Overall... Super delicious. Great flavor. Not overwhelming. Although I probably would of want the wider noodles. I'll try to request that next's time if it's possible to switch it up. 😋“

“They just hosted our annual Post-Thanksgiving Dinner. We were a party of 30. So much amazing food, and the service was wonderful. There are some special dishes we ordered that needed to be pre-ordered. “House Special Crab and Curry Crab” did not disappoint. We will definitely be back to try more dishes when we are in town.“

But I can assure you with absolute certainty: I have never tasted anything better or more delicious among Thai restaurants than the dishes served right here at Mai Thai. The food is delicious, generous, and exquisite, featuring a truly stunning presentation—all served with warmth and love! To all fellow fans of Thai cuisine, I wholeheartedly recommend this specific restaurant: Mai Thai.

“We love this place, but my only complaint is that there are no kids portions/options. You have to understand from parent perspective. If my kids don’t like anything I am not going there even if I love it. Kids don’t always like same food, so now I’m stuck with getting each kid full price item. For example one of my kids likes chicken noodle soup but he can never finish the whole thing. The other one does not like it so 1/2 of it is a waste. Now I got to order something for the other kid which loved chicken satay which he also does not finish. You see how it quickly adds up. And I guess it’s ok if they eat the whole thing but they don’t. So when we choose a place to go we would more likely to go somewhere where they have kids menu. Also kids don’t eat complicated dishes, esp spicy food or souses so ordering from regular menu is very tough. For example they dont like pineapple fried rice which might seem like a tasty dish for kids but not all kids eat that. Just asking for some plain kids options, I’d be here many more times a week. But at this point, I can only take the fam here 1x every couple of weeks max.“

“I was a little put off by the health department biotic ln the door but decided to take the chance. It had gone from closed to conditional due to an issue with a water pipe problem, the staffer told me as I checked out. The food was good and plentiful. I’d eat here again.“

“Everything here was surprisingly good. Service was good, restaurant is cute and small. With the restaurant being small a 2 seat table is tiny. Like one appetizer and entre tiny. Got the fried egg rolls and kow soi duck, first time trying duck. Both are really good. Will be back again“

the flavors and aroma of the curry was really good. It was a shame that it was ala carte and didn't come with rice.
Portion size was good, Service was OK, as they took order from people who arrived after me first and even got their food first, understandably, even though the restaurant was pretty much empty.
$17 for curry and $4 for rice.

Everything I’ve ordered, which is mostly the vegetarian options has been super solid. I love their pad prik khing. “we got the crispy corn (wished it was crispier haha and would recommend getting peanut sauce with it), the roti (both peanut sauce and curry are yummy depending on your mood) and veggie red curry thai hot (my bf likes a lot of spice and he found that he would prefer it a bit spicier, i had one spoon and it was very spicy for me but not so bad - no tears or coughing haha). ive also gotten the pad thai and its yummy! overall really good food.“
