“I go here pretty much every Sunday to pick up lunch for myself and my family. Leah and Genaro have always been friendly and professional. Restaurant is always clean and there’s always more than a handful of people dining in. The food is cooked to order so I pretty fresh and it tastes great! Wait time for food is what you would expect and food always comes out hot.I suggest you stop by and give them a try…I think you’ll be happy you did.“
“Wow!! Everything about this place was amazing. The decor, the staff, the food. Can't wait to come back. Galata Turkish Halal Grill is on the corner of Belmont and Nieto. Depending on what time you come free parking can be difficult to find. They provide indoor seating and a few tables outside as well. I came with a friend and were seated within seconds. We ordered the Galata salad, a chicken donor wrap, and a beef donor wrap. To our surprise they brought out a plate of sun-dried tomatoes in herbs and oil with some fresh warm bread to start, so good! The food we ordered was delicious. We both agreed that the beef donor wrap was our favorite of the two. As for the salad, I thought corn was an interesting topping to add but I felt that the flavors went well together. The dates and the caramelized walnuts were a nice touch. However, my friend was on the fence about it. She mentioned it was too lemony for her taste. So keep that in mind if your preference is similar to hers when ordering the Galata salad. The staff had to have been the best part of the whole experience they were all so kind and very helpful when we were not sure what to order. They even gave us complimentary pomegranate tea when we finished our food. This place is a must try in my opinion.“
“This was a great gem to find in westminster! My husband and I were on a business trip and enjoyed the food and hospitality so much we returned the next day and brought a friend. We absolutely LOVED the falafel, kibbeh, and humus the most. We also really enjoyed the chicken kebab and beef shawarma. My favorite meat was a chicken they made special for the dinner buffet. I was so disappointed to learn it wasn't a menu item that could be ordered ?. I also liked the Barbosa dessert it as s coconut flavor without being over powering and the lentil soup was also AMAZING so creamy and smooth. Definitely top tier lentil soup he swears its just blended lentils but there must be some magical ingredients or process because that lentil soup was SOOO SMOOTH. ("Just like the ocean under the moon" silently singing Santanas song withbthe mtch box 20 guy in my head now)Ahmed the owner was really nice and so was the Mexican lady working for him. I don't remember her name, but we were thankful she spoke Spanish as when we came in the forst time, the only two people there were her and another guy who only spoke Russian. Neither had good English but luckily my husband spoke enough Spanish and we pointed at the menu items and were able to order. Ahmed speaks fairly good English and so did the lady who was their the next day.This food was so yummy we would come back even if no one spoke english or spanish. We will definitely be back again. It's been a while since I've had really good falafel, so that was a super pleasant surpise.The venue is small, only about 6 or so tables that seat about 4 each. They do have a high chair if needed but no changing table in the bathroom. I wouldn't call this easily wheelchair accessible as the threshold is a bit high, and the space between tables is a bit limited. It would be challenging to maneuver through if all the tables are full.I highly recommend checking it out if you are looking for yummy Mediterranean food and are not afraid of language differences. ?“
“When I walked in, I wasn't too sure about the place. However, the owner was extremely nice and helpful. Then, I was presently surprised with some of the best kabobs I have eaten. “Wow! Such a nice and classy restaurant/hookah spot! We wanted some hookah so looked up nearby spots! We went in without a reservation on Saturday night. Hookah is served only after 6 pm. They have limited flavors but the hookah itself was great! I got the ground beef kebob plate (koobideh) with no rice because I'm on keto. I also asked for no dressing but a side of olive oil and lemon juice. They brought out my plate exactly as I ordered. The kebob was soo juicy and delicious! Everything was great! They even have a full bar so you can order alcohol or tea! Will definitely be back when we are in the area again!“

“This humble takeout eatery serves more authentic Turkish coffee than any Mediterranean restaurants I've found in SoCal. The coffee so thick it looks like mud at the bottom of your cup---PERFECTIONThe establishment has a talent for making bread. The crust of our pizza was soft and chewy on the inside while light and crispy on the outside. That said, the Hawaiian pizza was topped with canned pineapple (making it overly sweet) while the accompanied ham seemed to have been packaged meat and, therefore, a bit underwhelming in taste. Even so, the crust was sovery good that I'm willing to come back to try other pizzas on the menu“

The chicken Shawarma bowl was huge, not traditional shaved Shawarma, but very good nonetheless. “this place has consistently good pizza. Growing up I was never allowed to eat pepperoni pizza since it was not Halal, and once i was able to find Halal pepperoni, it was still not that appetizing. All that changed with big Al’s pizza. Their beef brisket used to be my favorite, but now I like the simple pepperoni. The saltiness of the pepperoni complements the cheese and sauce so well. The crust is amazing and is chewy yet crispy. just recently I became pregnant and could not tolerate any food during my first and second trimester however, big Al’s pepperoni pizza saved me as it was one of the only foods I could eat. It was delicious and provided me some nutrition as well and I’m sure when my baby grows up inshallah, he too will love big Al’s pizza.Dietary restrictions: Halal“
“Best Middle Eastern restaurant in town!! It’s my favorite so far in the Area. It was my first time to try it and definitely will be my favorite spot every time I visit LA. Shawarma was so delicious and kufta was sooo good. Baklava was so fresh and delicious. Also You definitely need to try the lemon mint too. “The most delicious, freshly prepared, juicy, well seasoned chicken breast sandwich I've ever had! It was great. At first, I thought it was burned because it was a really dark brown. But that's because it was saturated in seasoning. I chose the hot one and it was hot! Took a few minutes to sink in. The sauce that came with it looks like thousand island dressing but doesn't taste like it. Kinda hard to describe the taste except it Kinda cools down the intense heat and pairs well with the chicken. Don't be fooled by the outside - there's Mexican food here but also middle Eastern food too, so there are healthy options if you don't want a bunch of Cheetos on your food for example. I always liked the food here even before it was Fatima's, and the quality has remained the same! It's a small venue so you probably want to take your food to go, but for the price and quality it can't be beat!“

But there could've been more coleslaw on the chicken sandwich, and in my opinion every meal should come with pickles. The atmosphere and customer service were lacking. Every restaurant owner should go to In-N-Out Burger and model their customer service after them--welcome me and my family into the restaurant, ask us how we are enjoying our meal and if we need anything else, and thank us on the way out for paying $50 for four sandwiches. The temperature inside the restaurant was sweltering hot, the bathrooms were gross and unkept, and the soda machine well was overflowing and messy. There was a lot of employees standing around, which should never be the case.“
