“The "5 Sisters" that originated from Michigan, meet once a year in California... The California sister and her husband treated us to the Lavender Bistro for Valentines Day. We were met at the door with long stem roses and seated promptly in the outdoor patio. So beautiful, every tree limb was lit up, the waitstaff was very attentive and kind. The Brick walls were lined with blooming bougainvillea, couldn't have been more perfect. The "Set" Menu had something for every taste. Our appetizers and meals were delicious. The 4-piece dessert was a real treat!! I can't wait to visit again!! Thank you Lavender Bistro!!!“

“This was our second visit to Louise’s Pantry, and once again, it did not disappoint. The food is consistently good, the portions are generous, and the prices are very reasonable—especially for the amount of food you receive.

The atmosphere is pretty basic, just what you would expect from a traditional breakfast café, but that’s part of its charm. What really stands out, besides the food and value, is the staff. Everyone we encountered was warm, friendly, and welcoming.

Sometimes you don’t need fancy—you just want good food, generous portions, friendly service, and a fair price. Louise’s Pantry delivers all of that. After two great experiences, we’ll definitely be back.“

While some establishments offer a free trinket or something on Veterans Day, the Cliffhouse offered Vets a complete dinner at absolutely no cost. “The eggs Benedict tasted really good. So did the French toast. When we first walked in, it was loud and very vintage. Has an A on the window but seemed a little old dirt felt. Very hometown carefree environment and man the good tasted great. Parking in front, and way more in back. Had bathrooms and a private table set up in back. Service was great and food came out quick. Dont be thrown off by the vintage dinge. Its a perfect place for breakfast“

“What a great find. We were driving back to CA from Phoenix and were looking for a nice place to stop for lunch and we found It's a Wrap. It's basically the restaurant at the golf club house in a private community. The staff, food and location was great. It was very relaxing and we didn't have to worry about the stuff in our car in a strip mall type of location. Highly recommended.

Note that Google Maps will likely route you to the residents only entrance, to access the restaurant you need to enter off Varner road which is the service road of I-10“

“A take out order today had one "glitch," so I wondered if J's was slipping again. I called the restaurant and talked to the person who had sent the order out. She apologized and said there would be a credit on my next order either delivery or in the restaurant. But almost immediately, Jay, the owner, sent me an email apology increasing the credit (double the cost of the item) and saying he was sorry for the error and disappointing me. That prompt and responsive action on the part of the owner counts. Things go wrong with any restaurant or any business. I learned long ago as a customer - and as a consultant to the top execs at Fortune 500 companies - that the true measure of a company isn't how they act when things are going well (that's easy) but rather how they handle it when things go awry. Jay handled the minor mistake in my order with professionalism, responsiveness, promptness, and kindness. The order was on time, packaged perfectly, and the key thing, great food. As I said in the past, there was a period in which I saw some problems at J's, but for a while now, I have seen nothing but great food, good service, and attention to the customer. I hope others go to J's and find the same.“

“I’m a craft beer fanatic, so when you read my review please keep that in mind. Service was great, the pizza was really good, but there were no “real” craft beers. This is despite, claiming to have a brewery onsite. They do have three or four beers brewed there, but they were not that good. All of the others came from the big, mass produced breweries. Come for the food and atmosphere, but not for the beer.“

“Took our neighbors for their 40th anniversary. Even though they’ve lived in the valley for multiple decades, they had never been there (which is what I had hoped so as to surprise them). Took us newbies (less than 3 years) to introduce them to one of the valley’s hidden gems. They were captivated and very impressed and appreciative of their dining experience at this lovely setting. “The Larkspur Bar and Grill is one of the top five overall restaurant experiences in Palm Desert.(My Opinion). The food is true quality, the staff is attentive to guest needs and the chef's know how to blow your taste buds out of your mouths. Last nights Prime Rib was the best I have had in the desert.“
