“I’m so happy I stumbled upon Marathon Coffee — this little café is such a gem! Simon, the owner, is incredibly nice and has such a warm, welcoming spirit. The menu offers lots of options, and the ordering process was super easy. My drink was ready quickly, which I really appreciated. I ordered a matcha with strawberry added, and it was absolutely delicious! I’ll definitely be returning. Highly recommend!“

“This is a cool coffee spot in Lakeside, a suburb of San Diego. It's mostly a drive thru, but I did walk up to order an iced coffee, and they still served me.

The iced coffee with 2% milk was relatively inexpensive at $3.50 plus tax, essentially for $4. It was pretty good coffee with a smooth start but it did have a slight bitterness towards the end. It was a good coffee nevertheless.

Service was very friendly. It's too bad they don't offer a small seating area.“

“From day one YoYo was terrific. She intently listened to what I wanted and from there recommended their house tea blend. But it did not stop there, she created a concoction that was not so sweet and not loaded with tea or ice. Gotta tell you it was perfect! And here is the best part, I have been going back to get this drink consistently for the last few months and each time she makes it perfect. Others have tried, but just cannot get it right (besides Diane who by the way is also terrific). Suffice to say I am a loyal customer and appreciate all the effort and attention these two women put into making my drink. YoYo is phenomenal and a true asset to this location. It is obvious that she really cares and does not just go thru the motions. You could come here every day for two weeks and never repeat what you order! Plenty of room for small or larger groups. Indoor and outdoor seating. The staff are friendly and attentive, and they recognize their repeat customers with knowing smiles. They also have an extensive selection of alcoholic drinks, including fine liquors! “Hidden gem of La Mesa! Cute family owned shop with many coffee options. I got the Fox, which is a honey cinnamon macchiato. They also have little pastries such as apple turnovers and muffins. Pricing was very reasonable. The staff is great too! Michael was very friendly and welcoming.“

“We came here for the Baklava and Turkish delight. The honey Baklava was easily my favorite as it has a less harsh sweetness than the other kinds I tried. They were still amazing but the honey one just stood above the rest.
We also got a few kinds of Turkish delight the star definitely being the small rose ones that had wonderfully delicate rose flavor that avoided the pitfall of tasting like perfume.
For drinks we had the Pistachio late which sublime, perfectly roasted coffee and pistachio flavor. Also tried Mina's signature drink that was a rice pudding late with hazelnut flavor, it was very reminiscent of an horchata with different spices. I greatly enjoyed it.“
