“Had the most lovely breakfast this morning at the Food for Thought Café. The tofu scramble had a great scrambled egg consistency and the potatoes and soup of the day were well seasoned and fresh. The espresso also hit the spot while my friend and I dined in low, comfy chairs basking in the morning sun. The staff was kind and welcoming from the beginning to end of our visit.”

“What a find! Sam’s was a surprise gem amongst the standard burger joints in the area. The food was great, the atmosphere relaxing. We tried the pizza and it did not disappoint! They took extra special care for our special occasion and I would hands down go back there again and recommend it to anyone in the area. The homemade mango ice cream is NOT TO BE MISSED, I’d go back to Joshua Tree just for the ice cream!!! Thank you for making our night!”

“We have gotten sandwiches from this location twice and both times we got excellent service from Doc. He is friendly and excellent at making sandwiches. We are Vegan and order veggie sandwiches and believe me when I say that Doc makes our sandwiches taste amazing with his portions and sandwich making style. Thanks Doc!”

“What a well oiled machine of a cafe. I'm in awe at JT Coffee for being able to handle the raucous crowd of annoying city people making it look like Starbucks in there. The last time I visited, I was the only city folk braving the sweltering 113° of desert Summer but this past St. Patty's weekend was cutsie pootsie sweater weather and you bet your butts it was busy AF. It almost ruined my romantic vision of the desert being this idyllic place removed from the city -- yeah, big face palm for me now that social media ruined all that was sacred. Without further disruption, the coffee here is great. I'm not a latte girl so I can't vouch for all you sugarcoated peeps but I bought two bags of whole bean and a cold brew for the road and they get my coffee master stamp of approval. While you're here, do head to Sky High Pie and get the veggie quiche!”

“Our family stopped by after a long day of hiking. The quesadilla and taquitos were excellent, and the service was friendly, loading us up with salsa cups to go. This was a great meal to enjoy on the back porch of our desert bnb.”

“Food is 10/10. The most gluten free-friendly place I've ever been to. Staff was great and happy to help with anything... except the hostess. I'm sure we are not the first to complain about her. People around us were also shocked with how she was speaking to us and the people before us. She does not fit in with the rest of the vibe. She was unbelievably rude and dismissive. Her replies were unprofessional and purposefully unhelpful. She hated being there and we almost left, honestly. I'm glad we stuck through her attitude and we enjoyed the meal but she should not be front of house. (Visited 3/30/24)”

“Don't let the plain appearance of this restaurant fool you, the food here is excellent. I am a huge fan of Middle Eastern cuisines and have eaten them all around the world, and this one is top notch. Plus there is something so rewarding knowing that you are helping an family from Jordan succeed in the States. But let there be no question: the best reason to come here is the great food at totally reasonable prices.”

Like a scene out of the 60s, somehow a scene that belongs in the Big Lebowski… I’m pretty sure I saw the “The Stranger” watching the live band from a corner table. “People working here were super nice and worked so hard to get people seated and served. It was my favorite place we ate at in our week here on vacation. The fried chicken sandwich was yummy and they put it on sourdough like we wanted. The salad I got as a side was fresh and crisp. I wish they had been open for dinner, We needed dinner places. I didn't expect there to be a Korean restaurant nearby, but I searched for a Korean restaurant nearby, so I came to the restaurant with some hesitation.The food is oh so delicious. I was very disappointed with the Korean restaurant in LA Hanta (too salty and insincere), but this place is delicious even though it's not sweet and salty. It's hard to make food taste good without it being sweet or salty. Would you say that you felt relieved after a week of travelling? It's a traditional Korean food that tastes like home cooking without much flavor. The owner greeted me and gave me a bag of Crayon Shin-chan and Sora snacks for my child. The restaurant has a snack bar-like atmosphere but is clean. They also sell chicken and bungeoppang.I had squid rice bowl, bibimbap, and kimchi fried rice. All three were plentiful and delicious. I also packed tteokbokki and ate it at the hotel, and it was delicious even though it was cold.I didn't have any intention of reviewing it, so I took a picture while I was eating.This is my first time leaving a review. I hope that the owner's business goes well and that it becomes a famous Korean restaurant in Yucca Valley. I live overseas and not in Korea, so it's hard to get this much flavor at a Korean restaurant overseas, but the owner's sincerity is evident in the food. I really recommend it.”
