“If you are looking for a drink/snack right on the beach in PB then this is the place for you. First off, they have excellent breakfast, so go there for that if you are hungry and it's before noon. Secondly, if it is after noon, the menu options are good. The parking is limited, but there is an underground public-pay lot right below this place. The only downside is that all the drinks are served in plastic disposable cups so it's not the best for the environment, but they have recycle bins for the cups/bottles at least. I can't get over how great the view from the patio at this place is and so if you're looking for a casual place to grab a drink and sit outside and enjoy the beach, definitely come here!“

“This was the perfect little place near the fishing docks and on the harbor. We were at a conference at the Manchester Hyatt, and it was definitely worth the walk to come eat here. “My wife, daughter, and I are visiting from the East Coast. I located Gossip Grill from an online search. There are two sides to the Grill as well as an outdoor seating area. One side it great for socializing and the other side has a dance floor. The atmosphere for Lesbians is a safe friendly atmosphere. Last night from 6pm until 10pm was for age 40+ which had a good mixture of women and a few men. The music from the DJ was decent but a few songs caused just standing on the dance floor. The next DJ came in at 10pm and she was amazing. After 10pm the younger crowd came in and after a few great songs, it was time for me to go. If you’re ever in the San Diego area, this is a must visit.“

“Best kept secret in the Gaslamp!!! Came here during ComicCon. Yes busy, but waitress was on top of everything. Our food was delicious, arrived hot and was beyond expectations. We got the Chimichurri skewers, cup of chili (home-made not from a can), wings with Cali green sauce and the butter burger. The butter burger and skewers just melt in your mouth. The Cali green wings while described as being spicy, were very mild and tasty to me. Our drinks were very tasty and refreshing.“

“We came here for karaoke night on a Friday. It was crowded but we were able to get our drinks fairly quick as there are two bar areas. We came in as a group and we were able to find spot for all of us to hang out. I loved the vibes as the guests were singing along. I got tater tots and fried pickles and they were tasty and reasonably priced. I would come back for karaoke night again.“

“We only recently learned about Sal's Cantina and we were eager to try the food. The space is great (which is shared with Rosemary & Thyme in the morning), especially the very comfortable outdoor garden patio. Sal was very friendly and provided great, attentive service. And the food was delicious! I ordered a birria taco, a pollo asado taco, with beans and rice. My friend had a birria enchilada (not on the menu, but Sal fixed it up for us). All of the food was fresh and great quality. We also were greeted with complimentary chips and salsa, which was a great starter with our passionfruit margaritas. One high note, all of the food was lightly salted, which is something I very much appreciated. It's easy to add salt if you want more, but too many restaurants over-salt, and you can't do anything to lessen that after the fact. We will definitely be back!

Parking: Sal's doesn't have any dedicated parking. You can choose from metered parking along University Ave, or look for free street parking along the side streets. Pretty much the same for many Hillcrest restaurants.“

“I walked over after being told at Flicks that they “weren’t able to” change just one of their many TVs to a specific game that was on. I came to R Place and an employee immediately welcomed me to sit down and changed a TV for me! They were so great. I’ll definitely be back! Amazing service“

We really enjoyed putting tunes on the jukebox and hanging out. Drinks were delish, food was good, service was outstanding.“

The Chef will often make a different scrambled egg besides the traditional one so there is a second choice. The service is outstanding with friendly staff. I enjoyed this breakfast very much.“
