“I honestly only ever eat Chicken Pad Thai when it comes to Thai food and honestly this place doesn’t do it too poorly. The chicken can be a hit or miss. I’ve had the driest nastiest chicken breast sometimes, but then i’ll go and it’ll be some really decent chicken thigh.

I also have to say that I like how spacious the interior is and the proximity to the restrooms. You can get there, wait a little until a table is free and then just drop your stuff off while you wash your hands and settle in. I go to the General Store before coming here and get all my drinks there (1$ Arizonas).

Overall, it’s a solid place. Definitely not DAYGOEATSCERTIFIED✅ but I can say that I approve and if you want Thai food in a pinch here on campus, this is not a bad contender.

“I liked EVERYTHING about it. The food was great. I got pad see-ew and it was not spicy just how I like it, and if you do want it spicy you can definitely get it spicy. (My husband ordered a 7.5 and it was spicy deliciousness.) The service was prompt. It did not take a long time for us to receive our apps or food, and when we did she reminded us to not leave our forks on the appetizer plates.(lol). “Very delicious food, and good service.

Food: We had the duck curry noodles and charred pork fried rice. The duck curry was by far the best as it had much more interesting flavors. The second dish was okay, though flavor profile wise it wasn’t as exciting—if I’d recommend one over the other I’d say go for the duck! But both are good. We also had fried wings as appetizers, that was also amazing and the sauce was great.

Service: A bit slow. They were really accommodating about us changing our reservation time to move it up earlier in the night. This we appreciated. But it looked like there was only 1 server and two bussers(?) servicing the whole place. Even though it was a weeknight, it still felt understaffed. Even though the service provided by our server was amazing when we had him, unfortunately he was busy half the time. And food took 30-40 minutes to come out, so I suspect the kitchen had the same issue. If this is a common occurrence then I believe the business owner should have more people on staff if they want to improve the service. I don’t blame our waiter, moreso whoever’s managing the schedules.“

“I picked up food from here for the first time tonight. Cashier was friendly & informative. Cute little restaurant. Pad See Ew was probably the best I’ve had in San Diego- SO many veggies (which was what I was craving). My husband gave the Bangkok Spice Noodles a 10. Headsup: if you don’t specify, food is at a 0 spice level (at least the dishes I ordered) I’m definitely coming back to see if they do as good a job on their Pad Woon Sen. Happy customer!“

They are both deeeelicious 😋❤️ . It was very busy but if you kept moving and looking at the same time it wasn't that bad . The staff at this restaurant were so nice and helpful and moving so fast to get everyone's order out 😎👍

Vegetarian options: They have veggies or tofu for the opinions

Parking: Big parking lot around the whole campus , and its free😎

Kid-friendliness: Definitely 😁 because kids love soup and noodles

They have a 10 point scale for spiciness; I usually get a five outta ten on the spiciness scale and that’s plenty. Enough to make my nose start to run at least. Very comfortable spice level and it’s what I recommend.“

“Came in when I saw a sign for their lunch special. I enjoyed it. It was the perfect portion. I got the beef garlic and pepper. It came with rice, beef with garlic, cabbage and cilantro, and a vegetable roll. I also got a Thai Tea. I will probably come back and try something else too.“

(Dinner service is a la carte). I love the Panang Curry with Roast Duck, as shown in my photo. Traditional lunch hour is quite busy and a short wait for a table should be expected. Later in the afternoon (e.g. 2:30) is very tranquil. I can personally attest that Spices has been providing fantastic food and excellent service for decades. “The nice women who took my orders were super nice and caring. The dining area is small and cozy with dim lighting, and clean. Prices were typical of Thai restaurants from what I've seen in the US. Curry with white rice is usually 15-18 dollars, and Thai tea is 5-7. I got Red Curry twice and Panang curry once. I had to work the following days, so I only got spicy level 2 or lower. I'm sure spicy 3 would be too hot for people who don't try it much. I'd recommend spicy level 1 or 2 to at least get some of the flavor. I don't know what authentic Thai is or if I've had it, but this place cooks delicious food. The rice is always perfect and was never mushy. The tofu is perfectly firm on the outside and the right amount of soft on the inside. The sweetness of the curries was also the perfect amount. I have nothing bad to say about Thai Time on Broadway. Take out orders for 1 take about 10 minutes.“
