In my opinion what makes this spot good is the type of coffee you get. Im no coffee expert but the taste you get is what I call "classic". That straight up coffee taste you know and love. Everywhere else I go tend to favor the more funky natural process coffees. I love a good funky espresso. But to find this flavor profile in a coffee shop around here, or in LA in general is pretty uncommon.

“This is a great bagel and coffee shop. I work in the complex and we all pick up food here often. The bagels and big, soft and fresh and they are almost always very generous with the cream cheese (which I really love).I also like their bagel sandwiches, the lattes - blended or hot - and the bagel bombs too. In all honesty, I haven’t had anything there I don’t like.Other bonus perks: a rewards program that lets you earn free items and a kid’s corner to keep the little ones entertained!

Vegetarian options: Lots of veggie options, and vegan cream cheese too

Parking: Easy free parking right outside

“As always such a treat to get food from here. Savories, sweets sandwiches all so good. To see them spread out and having to choose is so difficult. Cubano was sour and the Spicy Chicken Milanese was great but not so spicy. Ropa Veja was also tasty. . The bread on all these… perfect. Mango shake was better than the Passion Guava. It gets very crowded at lunch time. You cannot order sandwiches online. The drinks they make when you pick them up.“

We love that they are big enough to cut up and share, so the whole family gets to try each flavor we pick. The staff was friendly. “If this is not the best banh mi in all of Sgv and Oc, I don’t know of any place that can beat them. All cash by the way so come prepared. Their dac biet is the perfect sandwich and their daikon and carrots are light and bouncy with fresh jalapeno with the right amount of pate and butter. They have it down to perfection, nothing less. Had an open house and served it for homebuyers and they were blown away! Highly recommend! Cafe sua da is gold too, loved the shaved ice in the coffee and not too sweet. The ladies in the back are super sweet and you can buy the baguettes and freeze them, then 350 f for 6 mins in toaster or airfryer. Get the egg rolls, and pa te so is good too. My clients loved their vegetarian banh mi too!

Vegetarian options: Just get he vegetarian banh mi! Only vegetarian thing to get or just plain baguettes! It will be worth it!“

“The cookies are always great. The employees sometimes stand around and ignore customers that need help using the touchscreen order pad. I have witnessed older people walk in, not know how to use the touch screen device, and employees just watch them struggle. Other than that everything is great.“

“The mini conchas are my favourite, I don't like conchas unless they're from this bakery. The polvorones, cinnamon raisin rolls, pink jelly coconut roll, and the mini cookies with sprinkles are my favourites here. The prices have been raised for the filled breads but it's better compared to other places. The place looks like it's kept clean and well maintained. The only bad thing about coming here are the homeless people asking for money all the time. + There's very limited parking sometimes it'll be empty and the next second it'll be full. The staff are super friendly and fast.“

I ordered a birthday cake for my sister with a ton of food allergies, and whoever I spoke to on the phone (wish I still had her name!) was really helpful with all my questions double checking if the cake would be safe for her. Everything is very thoroughly labeled, and very delicious. I visited in the morning for breakfast and was pleasantly surprised. Their Croissant Sandwich was a great choice—crispy on the outside and filled with ham, cheese, egg, and lettuce, making for a satisfying and protein-rich meal.

For my drink, I tried the Black Sesame Latte, but it was a bit disappointing. The sesame powder didn’t dissolve well into the hot milk, and no one informed me that it needed stirring, which affected the overall taste.

There are plenty of seats, but a few downsides for those looking to work or study here:

No power sockets, which makes it inconvenient for long stays.

No WiFi, so it’s not the best place for remote work or studying.

Not dog-friendly—only service dogs are allowed, so pet owners should take note.

Sobok Sobok has potential, and with a few small improvements, it could be a fantastic go-to spot for both breakfast and dessert lovers.
