“Living in the boonies of San Diego Co has benefits…(no traffic jams)…but few awesome perks…(like Tiki bars!!) Luckily the gods aligned, in Orange Co, and our last stop was the Stowaway. Intriguing, dark-painted, one small door marked the front of a strip-mall establishment… hmmm…sorta scary…but not really!! But there were two of us, and we had researched this place…so… The doorman looked at us, said a few things and unlocked a chain. We walked through curtains into the darkest bar I had ever been in, and shuffled toward the green lit bar…which turned red, then blue. The girl bartender handed us a card which we couldn’t read…it was really dark inside. From the shadows, up walked a bearded guy wearing a black shirt with hibiscus’s, smiled, extended his hand and said, “Hi, I’m “WILL”…can I explain anything to you? We had lots of questions…about drinks, Tiki ceramics, glassware, appetizers…and WILL cheerfully explained everything…He was fun, cheery, smart, and So Nice!! He brought us amazing drinks (a Tropical Margarita, a Cococano and totally fun ceramic sculptures from which to drink…an Angler Zombie Fish with a light, and Carved Volcano mug that had a flame show-by WILL, included!! Awesome!!) Totally wonderful décor…lights, bamboo furniture, comfy stools, the Skull Cave and waterfall, starry night ceiling, cool pool tables with lotsa room around them…everything thought through perfectly!!! “Waba Grill already left a good spot in my heart from the first time I tried them at their Portola Location and this time they still didn’t disappoint!

I ordered my food in-store at about 4:46p and was assisted by Abby at the front counter. The lobby and place is so clean and well put together. Abby was very sweet and kind and friendly and she helped me fairly quickly. I came in for their Waba Steak & Chicken Rice Bowl and 5 Dumplings. I didn’t realize I came in during Waba Grill’s Happy Hour and so Abby offered me a drink to go along with my 5 Dumplings.

I was curious about their NEW Drink Flavor: Dragonfruit Mango Lemonade and so I got that one.

My food was ready in about 7-8 minutes and Said (One of the chefs) was so kind and gentle and handed me my food and thanked me for coming in.

I ended up trying the Dragonfruit Mango Lemonade and my gosh, it is so sweet and tasty! I don’t think I’ve had Dragonfruit Lemonade juice before so this was a great refresher in the summer heat! I would definitely try it again!

Now, I was ready to eat on my Waba Rice Bowl when I noticed there wasn’t any steak on my bowl. I went in and let Said know and he didn’t hesitate. He went back and asked his chef (Alex) if he could make some fresh steak for my bowl.

Y’all, between Abby and Said and Alex, these hard workers definitely do go out of their way to make sure their customers are satisfied and taken care of! They definitely left a great enough impression for me to want to come back and support their business even further.

This location is about 45-50 minutes out from where I live, but it’s definitely worth the trip. From the food to the service.

“My favorite sushi spot! Every time I've been in, I've had a great time, from great caring servers, to high quality fish, to delicately built plates. Hard to go wrong here. The fish can be a little pricey at times (since they're all market rate), but they do offer high quality options like chu toro, king salmon, and bluefin tuna. Good portion sizes too, whether rolls, sashimi, or other plates. Definitely check this spot out if you haven't already, you won't be disappointed.“

Roaming around Irvine searching for somewhere to eat with something soupy and warm, my girlfriend and I came across this place. We joined the Yelp waitlist and once it was our turn to be seated we went inside.

Once inside, we waited in another line to get to the check-in kiosk which was a little inconvenient since it cause a crowd of people to awkwardly wait inside by the front door. I feel it would have made more sense to place it outside of the restaurant. The host, or at least the person at the register for the to-go orders, was stressed and it was very obvious. She was visibly in a hurry and talked extremely fast and seemed to be running out of breath. The one server (at the time) was also walking around stressed and at times was visibly upset with that person. The restaurant wasn't full, but the seating on both sides were taken. The long table that runs in the center was completely empty. Well, empty until we came. We got seated at the long table.

Any who, the food is what you want to know about! I ordered the Spicy Beef Noodle Soup/Rice Noodle Soup and the Beef Roll Pancake. It didn't take long to get the food, maybe 10 minutes at most.

How was it?

- Spicy Beef Noodle Soup/Rice Noodle Soup: Chunks of beef shank, kale, pickled veggie, cilantro, and green onions. Between standard round and knife cut noodles, I went with the knife cut noodles well... because my girlfriend chose it haha. It was a good choice though, they were wide noodles and hit the spot. The meat was good, decent sized chunks and very tender. The soup was tasty and had a good kick to it.

- Beef Roll Pancake: Beef, green onions, cilantro, and hoisin sauce. These things were huge. Plenty of greens in each of them. I've had beef roll pancakes at other places and wasn't a fan of how sweet they were. The ones here though, are just the way I like it. Not overloaded with sauce and not heavily sweet. These were good.

Plenty of parking everywhere in the lot, though I can see it getting more full later in the night. We came around 6PM and didn't have a problem finding a spot.

Service was OK. Even with the limited interaction that I had with the stressed out workers, it got me feeling stressed as well!

I'd come back for the food :).“

The service was fantastic, the receipt says Edward was the person I dealt with and he was super friendly and helpful. UPDATE: I returned to this location and ordered the firecracker crispy shrimp with brown fries rice and wow this was a great dish. Again, Edward was super helpful and gave great service! I will say however the restaurant smelled a bit off today. (I’ve been in a lot of commercial kitchens and I know this smell well.)“

- jjolmyun was amazing. Portion size was big and it also tasted great.
- surprisingly the cheese katsu that came with it tasted really good. Kinda felt bad for the katsu place next door.
- mix of dumpling was also good. The mandus have really chewy covers, which I really liked. The chili pepper and shrimp mandus were my favorites.

Service was meh. We ordered 3 dishes but they know gave us one napkin. Also they forgot to give us dumpling dipping sauce. I had to go back to the counter to ask for these.“

The most deliciously crispy, juicy, and mouth watering chicken you will ever eat. Paired with the sauce, I don't think it can get any better. I don't even live near here and I come back just for this.

The other items were tasty and seasoned well but the fried chicken just stole the show for me.

The service was very friendly and accommodating. And for dinner time, we were almost the only ones in the restaurant. For how good the food was, this place needs to be put on the radar!
