“This place is incredible, highly recommend! Amazing drinks, atmosphere and people! Kava is an excellent alternative to alcohol and I loved the Green Goblin drink which is a combination of Kava and Kratom. You can't find anything like it anywhere else! Check it out and enjoy!“

“Real as it gets. Really good coffee. Got the cream top drink, sweet cream on top and long black underneath. I didn't know what long black is so for those like me, it's like an Americano except the espresso is poured on top of water (rather than the water into the espresso) which apparently makes it taste richer.
Idk about all that hoopla, but here's what I can tell you, it tastes damn good.
With each sip you get the perfect mix of flavors. First you taste the rich, strong, and bitter (in the best way) coffee - which also has a tiny hint of orange which works wonderfully. Then, just as it's about to become overpowering, you get the sweet cream on the back of the tongue, balancing it out. Each sip was a delight.
That said, by the time I was 70ish% done, I wasn't enjoying it as much. I'm unsure why, but wanted to share my honest feedback. I really wanted to like it as much as I first did, but toward the end maybe the balance was off or something, or the underlying flavors didn't work as well as I thought, but didn't like it as much.
Still, I will return. Very good coffee.“

“I just ordered for the first time today and I must say your food is fantastic! Generous portion with pickles and delicious soft boiled eggs, pickles, puréed fresh tomatoes and a small amount of hot sauce that isn’t too hot. Just right. Went to your place near corner of Van Nuys and Burbank. HIGHLY RECCOMENDED“

“**A sweet slice of heaven in Santa Monica!** Junior Cookies is an absolute *gem*. I came in for the cookies (which are AMAZING – warm, gooey, and perfectly crisp on the edges), but I stayed for the whole vibe. Their ice cream is ultra creamy with rich, dreamy flavors that pair perfectly with the cookies—highly recommend making your own cookie cream with ice cream with cookies! I was also pleasantly surprised by how good their coffee is. It’s bold, smooth, and just what I needed to balance out the sugar rush. Honestly, it’s rare to find a cookie shop where the coffee actually stands out, but Junior Cookies gets it right. Best coffee, best cookies, best matcha, and best ice cream in la! The place is super cute inside, with a cozy neighborhood feel and friendly staff who seem genuinely happy to be there. You can tell everything is made with love. The cookies and recipes are unique. 5 star bakery in LA. If you're in Santa Monica, **don’t miss this spot**. Whether you’re craving dessert, a caffeine fix, or just want to treat yourself, Junior Cookies delivers!“

“This isn't a coffee shop. It's a communal space. The coffee is basically free if you think of your donation as more of a rental fee to be in this lovely communal space and have access to all that it offers. This place is ideal for making plans with business partners, writing scripts with friends, or just getting together for some time away from screens and computers. This place is tailored toward bringing diverse people together into one place to sharing ideas and stories with each other. As for the coffee and baristas both are fantastic. Cappuccino rocked me off my behind all day cuz I'm used to watered down crappuccinos from Starbucks. I love this place. This is where I bring friends that love good coffee and a peaceful conversation.“

“Today I tried a new sandwich for me, the Italiano. I expected a good sandwich but was pleasantly impressed how yummy. Their coffees and teas I always enjoy.“
“Neighborhood coffee shop with a really warm and inviting atmosphere driven by the service from the staff. They’re all really lovely and kind people who are making really good espresso drinks. They do a great job executing on classic espresso drinks. They also like to experiment with creative flavors for specialty drinks — I think they hit more than they miss, but I also want to say that I appreciate that they want to push the envelope and try some drinks you aren’t going to find everywhere (I’m thinking of the chamoy apple latte as an example).
The space is a little small but whaddyagonnado. I really appreciate the love they bring to the drinks! They have a small case of pastries but AFAIK they aren’t doing like food options.“

“Just THE best ice cream you'll ever taste and with an Italian name like Freddo it's actually the Argentinian style. And that's why MY favorite is Dulce de Leche Granizado with the Italian Cone or sugar cone we like to call 'cucurucho'. Once you'll taste THAT, you'll know what real ice cream taste that. Only then, you could call it 'helado de Freddo' like WE do“

“Was in the area, needed breakfast. Luckily this place was around the corner! DELICIOUS coffee! And that's coming from an ex Barista of 12 years). Was so pleased to see warm breakfast options on a cold rainy morning. Had the bacon egg everything bagel with cream cheese. Even my partner who doesn't normally enjoy breakfast ate half my sandwich. Cute interior though we didnt eat in. Try the Abelita's chocolate pumpkin coffee warm! 10/10!“

“Loved the vibe and coffee was good. But they need to sort out the syrniki recipe - it was absolutely raw inside and this is not how it’s supposed to be, especially when you charge this much for it. Maybe other items in the menu are better but I wasn’t lucky.“

“Travelled from Nova Scotia, Canada recently for an event. Love hunting down good coffee and good vibes. Rented a car for the day and stumbled on Awkward Coffee. Based on the name alone I knew we had to go. Very friendly staff, great selection of specialty drinks and sweet treats. Got to sample their new strawberry cold foam while we were waiting as well 🫣 I would make the trip from Nova Scotia again just to go back and visit this shop. Take care, everyone, and hope to see you all again.“

“After reading Google Reviews, this place was on our list for breakfast while visiting Calabasas. It's really an old diner with good old fashioned breakfast. Service was really good, breakfast was great and selection on the menu was awesome. While we got lucky finding a parking spot on a busy Sunday morning, I can see where that could be an issue.“

“Very cute coffee shop. They have tables outside and inside. Has a good amount of space. I came here because this coffee shop donates parts of their profits to an organization that supports immigrant families. Its a very noble thing to do. Owner was very nice and staff was super friendly and helpful. Place got a little busy when we were there but they were pretty organized for how busy they were. Coffee was delicious. I ordered a regular latte with whole milk and liquid sugar. Very good. The food was delicious too. I got the raspberry croissant and that was also a treat. The Sourdough toast with Salmon and avocado was really good too. I will definitely be back.“

“One of my favorite coffee shops in Los Angeles! Coffee is delicious, the specialty drinks are some of the best I’ve ever had, and it’s owned and ran by a local Weho resident. So happy they added the back space for a bunch of seating and some more food options - the avo toast is perfect 🤤“

“After hour cafes are *it*, but first — our Sunday morning visit: the chorizo breakfast burrito is actually amazing! Fatter than Wake and Late too. Good matcha, not grassy and will ask for double matcha next time for my latte.
They’re starting an after hours menu for Caribbean soul fool from 7pm - 11:30pm starting Feb 5th, 2026. We’re pumped to check it out!
Great neighborhood spot. LA needs more community builders like Dubb’s.“

“I have dined here twice, once for breakfast(which was amazing) and once for dinner. My recent visit was two weeks ago for dinner for my sister's birthday. Our food was absolutely scrumptious, everything we ordered was extremely DELICIOUS. There were five of us and all of us enjoyed our selections. The best part of our dining experience was our dining attendant, Michael. He was attentive, joyous, professional, knowledgeable, fun and gave awesome recommendations! We will be back very soon.
You must try:
**SHORT RIB POTSTICKERS( the sauce is divine)
Brussel sprouts
Japanese sweet potatoes(flavor town express)
Shrimp cocktail(trust me)
Braised short rib
Lemon chicken
Bread pudding (elevated classic)
Butter cake( one of the best we've had)“

“I loved my iced hazelnut latte. I felt like the coffee quality is much better than a commercialized place (obviously!). There was a good selection for coffee and teas. Matcha brownie is something I will have to try next time. Even though there was only one person working at the counter, I still felt that it was all prepared in a timely fashion. Seating is limited but you can tell locals like this place. It was filled with people in a relaxed atmosphere when you walk into the coffee shop.“

“This place is wonderful. I love the decor's aesthetic and the small coffee shop feel. The staff were polite and helpful. The food was amazing and I immediately thought of remaking it myself when I travel back home. The coffee was just ok. The drip tasted and smelled burned. I got an orange latte. I usually don't like orange in my coffee but figured I hadn't tried it in a while and I might as well try in California. It was the only specialty latte that I saw on the menu as others were teas. The first sip was just sour but it ended up growing on me!“

“This is a good coffee spot. Neat interior, friendly staff. Only ever eaten the tater tots, I'll bet they're frozen store-brand tots but they were gas nonetheless, especially with the sauce they serve them with.
Espresso is good. The signature black heart is good also. Most recently I asked the guy taking my order what's better, their signature or the golden latte, and he told me the golden is less sweet and more healthy. I tried it, and indeed, it was real good, and tasted pretty healthy.
9/10 will be coming back. They serve full, like actual meals here too so when I get one of those I'll come back and update to an 8/10 or 10/10.“
