“We absolutely loved our dinner at Monzu in the Gaslamp! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff struck the perfect balance of being friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. We started with the tartare di tonno, which was incredibly fresh and flavorful—an excellent beginning to the meal. The housemade focaccia deserves a special mention: airy, perfectly seasoned, and quite possibly the best I’ve ever had. For the main course, I enjoyed the bucatini all’amatriciana. The pasta was clearly house-made, cooked to perfection, and the sauce had that authentic depth of flavor that only true Southern Italian cooking delivers. We finished with an affogato, which was the ideal ending—simple, rich, and satisfying. Monzu offers authentic Southern Italian fare with genuine hospitality, and everything we tried reflected both freshness and craftsmanship. I would 100% return and highly recommend it to anyone looking for an unforgettable Italian dining experience in San Diego.“

“Staff was super friendly. There’s plenty of seats inside and outside. I just got a Greek salad with the fries and the garlic paste and it was perfect. The salad was very hearty. And the garlic paste on the fries tasted really good. My friend got meat and pita bread and that was also really good.“

“Finally! A new pizza shop in La Mesa and it’s delicious. Now I don’t have to go into the Village where parking can be difficult. Love the secret sauce and the craft pizzas. I highly recommend that you give it a try.“

“Nice, clean and friendly spot in a smaller retail strip. A fairly decent range of choices and everything was supper fresh. Spice ratings go 1-5. I’m a 0; my sister is a 6. She still added more hot chili paste to her vegetarian entree (sorry - I forget what she had). I had the Garlic Noodles and they were FANTASTIC. The pork was amazingly tender and delicious. The portions were enormous and I had it for lunch the next day! Try it out. I know I’m going back!“

Due to allergies it was a chore to find and enjoy meals not to mention affordably UNTIL WE FOUND THESE PEOPLE❤️ We returned for more great service, incredible food and drinks, were accommodate for allergies swiftly and with a smile and even enjoyed our experience in the dining areas! “We had a great dining experience at Urban Plates in Long Beach. Mariana explained the menu choices in a very unrushed manner, and we decided on the steak. I ordered the Chimichurri grass-fed steak with balsamic brussel sprouts and herb-roasted potatoes. All of it was delicious ( and healthy too!). The deserts were absolutely killer too. We will definitely eat here again next time we're in Long Beach.“

“Black Radish - Opened the door and walked into an Elegant yet casual interior. The vibe was warm and the staff very kind, accommodating, and friendly. The menu is unique, not the typical items that appear on almost all restaurant menus. First off were the Biscuits. Excellent texture, wonderful flavor and served with a soft herbed butter. Absolutely Amazing. Next up the Coconut soup, Delicious with a hint of spice from thinly sliced Serrano peppers on top and wow! Pure Yum! Following up with the Pappardelle with squash. This dish was perfection. The pasta noodles were cooked perfectly. The flavor of the pasta noodles was delicious and with the sauce and squash it was unbelievably delicious. One of the best pasta dishes I have ever had. The food is amazing and full of delicious flavors. High quality ingredients expertly prepared.
2 criticisms however;
* The portions are ridiculously small with a steep price tag
* The bathroom is part of the main dining room so when one walks into the bathroom those sitting at certain tables can view the interior of the bathroom - I find this distasteful.“

“Great meal had by all 7 of us. We were all more than happy with our meal and drinks. This place offers a great variety of choices making it hard to chose. The waiters and staff are very pleasant also. This was our second time there but it won’t be our last.“

The food is exquisite in every way. We always enjoy the pita bread and hummus, of course, and the rest of our appetizers, small plates and entrees were excellent.
