“We went for my dad's 87th birthday. They had the table all ready for us in the back of the restaurant, so it was quiet. Sam and Lida made us feel very welcome and like family. The food was fantastic, well timed and everyone loved it! This is a hidden gem in a mini mall. Lovely atmosphere and authentic food. Highly recommend!“

Sogol's plate is a great business run by great women and I would definitely recommend their to-go orders for busy students as the ordering and pick-up process were super easy. “Nayeb Kabob on 1300 S. Los Angeles Street is a true gem if you’re looking for authentic Persian food done right. The flavors are rich, well-balanced, and clearly made with care—everything tastes fresh, perfectly seasoned, and true to traditional Persian cooking. From the tender, juicy kabobs to the fragrant rice and sides, the menu offers a comforting, home-style quality that’s hard to find.

The prices are very reasonable for the quality and portions you get, making it an excellent value. The service was friendly, attentive, and welcoming, which added to the overall experience. You can tell the team genuinely cares about their food and their customers.

While the atmosphere is more simple and casual and could use some upgrades, the food more than makes up for it. During our visit, they were unfortunately out of a few menu items, but even with limited options, what we ordered was outstanding and left us wanting to come back to try more.

If you’re a fan of Persian cuisine—or want to experience it for the first time—this place is absolutely worth visiting. Authentic flavors, great portions, and solid service make Nayeb Kabob a spot I’d gladly return to again and again.“

“Taste of Tehran was my first time eating at a restaurant in Tehrangeles, and it was an awesome choice. This was definitely one of the best Middle Eastern restaurants I've been to in LA. Everything was so great. And yes, I ate a lot of food on the first day here. I started off with some of the stews that included gormeh sabzi, the gheyme, and ash reshteh, which were all very tasty. The surprise hit to me was the Lentil Quinoa Salad. Seriously, one of the best salads I've ever had. It was sweet, refreshing, and savory all at the same time. No words to describe. And then the meats: the koobideh and soltani plate, just fabulous, along with that lentil rice. I can honestly say that Persians make the best rice out of all Middle Eastern countries! Even the barberry rice was amazing. Never had a rice this sweet and fruity before! Overall, an amazing experience. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Don't be fooled by the looks of this place. It looks like a quick, over the counter order type of restaurant, but the food is top notch. Even Anthony Bourdain has been here! “Probably the best Mediterranean food I have ever had. I tried the chicken kebab—it was delicious. The chicken was flavorful and cooked to perfection. The rice was flavorful. Hummus was amazing. The side salad with the beet dressing added the cherry on top. Will definitely be back!“

“I'm at a loss for words, but I'll try my best. Food? Amazing! Perfect amount of seasoning and the portions are huge! And this is coming from a big dude. For the appetizers, my favorites were the Kashk E'bademjan (Eggplant Delight), Potato Salad, and the Hummus! They have more selections, but this is what I was able to try. I hear all are great! For the Entrees, ALL OF THEIR KABOBS ARE FIRE (MMM MMMM YUMMY). I had a sample of most them and in the islands, we would say "broke da mouf kine", which translates to, the food is *beep beep* GOOD! If you've never had Persian Food, or you love it, this is the restaurant for you! Drinks? I love Korean Soju and Cass beer, so yeah, +10 points from me. They do carry various Wines and Beers though...and of course your choice of Soda Pop. Atmosphere? It' gives you a Kewl Kids Vibe; a classy place where you can be yourself with family and friends and just enjoy each others company. You have your choice of Indoor and Outdoor dinning which is amazing. There's also a private room upstairs that can hold 20 people for a meal and karaoke (there is a fee to reserve, but very much worth it). Staff? We were greeted at the door as if we were coming home. Pasha and his staff go above and beyond to make sure all your needs are met. Their suggestions on meal and drink pairings are spot on. I can't thank Pasha and the crew for making our group outing a success. Overall? I'll be going back and I hope that you add this restaurant to your list of 'go to' places to dine at. You will not be disappointed, I promise you. (Unless your attitude stinks or you're not willing to try new food ‍) Pasha again, thank you so much for the hospitality. “The wine bar you wish you could stumble upon every night! Great Persian food- you can tell they use fresh farmers market produce. And arguably the best natural wine list in town. This spot is a real gem. Get the Nazkhatoun (eggplant dip) w/ feta, Ghormeh Sabzi or the Fesenjan - both delicious stews. And their tarts for dessert are excellent.

Our server seemed to be in a bit of a hurry though, not sure why. Luckily, Amir was available and we got to chat with him for a bit. We enjoyed learning about the background of the food, his background, and he helped us out with some bread as well.

“Update 8/25/2025:

I wanted to make an update since some things have changed since I initially wrote my first review. This is still easily one of my top three Mediterranean spots in the area. The flavors are always on point, the portions are generous, and the quality has stayed consistent over time. One thing that has changed, though, is the gradual price increase. The chicken kabob plate, which comes with hummus, pita, rice, and salad, used to be about $17 but is now closer to $20 or more. I feel a little conflicted because for the taste and portion size it still feels worth it. At the same time, if you are bringing a date or ordering for more than one person you should expect to spend a bit more than you might anticipate.“
