“I found Monte’s in Alhambra just poking around for something to eat one day. I live pretty close and had no idea it was there. Walked in, looked at the menu, and immediately knew this was my kind of place. Alexis runs the show here, and he and the rest of the crew are great, friendly, fast, and you can tell they actually care about the food. Everything on the menu looks solid, but I went with the first sandwich on the hot list the Legendary Chopped Cheese. It did not disappoint. Great flavor, perfect portion, and for about thirteen bucks, it’s a very fair price. The sandwich-to-price ratio is a strong 8½ out of 10 for me. The inside of the sandwich was fantastic, melty, flavorful, just messy enough to be satisfying. The bread was soft, which isn’t a bad thing, but personally, I would’ve liked it a touch crunchier to give it more texture. Still, the bread did its job and held everything together just fine.
Parking’s super easy. It’s in a little strip mall with a ramen spot and a few other restaurants. You can pop right in and out. I think it’s off the Fremont exit on the freeway. The location couldn’t be better for a quick, easy meal. Everything about this place feels right: great food, solid pricing, easy parking, and good people running it. Every sandwich I saw go by looked worth ordering, and I’ve already got my eye on the chicken and waffles, which seems to be one of their signature dishes. Monte’s is one of those hidden gems that feels like it should already be packed all the time. I’ll definitely be back, probably more than once to work my way down that menu.“

“Today was our first visit to Mendocino Farms in Torrance, where we were warmly greeted by the staff as we walked in. We met with senior manager, Miguel, who assisted us with placing our Thanksgiving order. Miguel definitely represents his brand by being friendly and wanting your experience to be the best (and it was!). After tasting today’s food, it just confirmed we made the right choice for our holiday food. The atmosphere was extremely inviting and clean. This will definitely be one of my weekly stops!“

“We arrived right at the lunch hour on a Thursday. There was a long line, but it went very fast. Ordered Herb Chicken sammy and tomato bisque, which was enough for two to share (we always share). Both were phenomenal, especially for the very reasonable price. This reminded me of what you get in Europe. The bread was so fresh and absolutely outstanding. We pay twice these prices for not as good food in San Diego. Very impressed!“

“I stopped by Mike’s Deli in DTLA on my way to Union Station, and I’m glad I did! While the store itself isn’t flashy at all, they do produce some extremely good sandwiches.

The girl working at the counter was very friendly and welcoming. I ordered a Mike’s Deli #1, which is essentially a spicy version of a turkey avocado sandwich. The sandwich was super fresh and bursting with flavor.

Really, every aspect of this sandwich was memorable, and the meat-to-vegetable-to-bread ratio was on point. The bread was very fluffy and nice, too.

It’s an d-school, simple deli that doesn’t stand out cosmetically, but it’s clean, welcoming, and they pump out some top-tier deli sandwiches at reasonable prices.“

“Today's special roasted mushroom pizza was SO GOOD. The chili oil topping was nice and fragrant without being greasy, and the mushroom was flavorful and savory. The nice crispy crust is crusty, not crunchy. The salami pizza had really nice thin slices for salami that is just the right punch of salty flavor.“

“This is one of my favorite breakfast burritos in the city. The people who work here are always so nice too, and I love browsing the unique drinks and snacks in the store. Don't forget to get a coffee at their sister store next door, Jurassic Magic. It's a knockout 1-2 combo.“

The sandwiches were great. I bought a bottle of soda and was very pleasantly surprised that they offered a cup of ice with lid and a straw without asking.

“If there’s one place known for Vietnamese coffee, it’s this one. That sweet, creamy, ice-cold brew will keep you wired longer than any energy drink. It’s strong, but in the best way. Don’t even bother asking for less ice because the drink is meant to be diluted. Without it, the coffee is way too concentrated (even their bottled version at Costco says to mix it with ice or water!).

As for the food, their banh mi are always solid. Fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. Prices have crept up over the years, but that’s pretty much everywhere now. Still worth the visit.“

Friendly staff welcomed us as we came in. Came here to redeem a free cookie reward won at the library and ended up purchasing a pizza melt kids meal. The pizza came with slices of apples and a drink. Drink options are lemonade and other non-soda options. The pizza melt was disappointing. It seems like it's two slices of toast with spaghetti sauce and cheese sprinkled on. It reminded me of what kids would make at home. The taste is exactly what you would expect toasted bread with spaghetti sauce to taste like.

A rather small dining area with options to sit outside. During our visit the inside was quite loud with the alternative ambient music. I suggest to management to lower the music a tad.

The is restroom access but must request from staff member to let you in.

Overall, I suggest sticking to the salads and sandwiches offered. From prior experience those options are much better than the laughable pizza melt.“

“My new go to place for banh mi! They're open until pretty late for a banh mi place, which I appreciated when I needed to grab some sandwiches at 8:30 pm for a late dinner.

They offer a buy 2 get 1 free deal for the round bread banh mi. One is $6.25 so when you order two and get one free, it comes out to be about $4 each. The sandwiches I've gotten so far (grilled pork and grilled beef) are the most stuffed I've seen in a round banh mi!

I couldn't leave without trying their egg rolls and pate chaud. They're $1.30 each or 3 pieces for $3.75. Solid egg rolls and pate chaud.

Parking in this supermarket plaza can be a little crazy. Park towards the side to avoid the traffic.“

“On wednesday, I went to this Subway. I was really hungry, and my mood had been terrible since morning- I had fought with everyone. When I got there, I met Mr. Ravi, an Indian guy. When I asked him for an extra scoop of tuna, he told me it would cost extra, and I got annoyed because it looked too little. I was already angry, but he handled the situation so calmly and respectfully that he actually made me laugh in the end. His service was so good that it genuinely made me want to leave a review, because he was completely right from his side. I truly salute that kind of customer service.“

“This is a mom & pop run sandwich shop that is no frills, but is very solid. The sandwiches I've tried are tasty (vegetarian, ham & cheese, pastrami) and the chicken noodle soup (don't sleep on it) gives me life when I'm sick. Prices are very reasonable, especially in this day and age. You can tell they have loyal, regular customers and I'm now a part of that group.“

“I have been a bigger Subway fan (before I knew what Jimmy John's was), and having had it twice now I am definitely a convert. The ingredients are fresh, and the sandwich is perfect. I am vegetarian, and the Veggie with your add-ons of choice make for a great meal!
