“Stopped by to watch the World Cup game - great service, fun atmosphere, clean and great selection of beer, cider and seltzers on tap. There is no food (except a food truck in back), but you can bring in your own food which is great. Dogs are allowed. Really fun place, would definitely recommend!“

“We love the pizza at this Smug's location. This place has the nicest staff, the best pizza crust and toppings, and pretty good deals. Even stopping in for a quick slice is the way to go. The Spicy Luau pizza is our favorite with the jalapeño and pineapple toppings. Enough spiciness that hits the spot!
We have eaten at the other locations, but the Mckinleyville location is by far the best.“

It was a special anniversary date night. - and this place was amazing. Yes, crab fat wings appetizer are a must -& we shared a nightly special of lamb chops, accompanied by delightful blue cheese mashed potatoes, & tasty, asparagus, cooked to perfect perfection. We topped it off with the most delicious creamy decadent dessert of a white chocolate crème brûlée that we have ever tasted! Will definitely be back and are highly recommending this place! Probably good to have reservation as it is a small venue.“

“Bayside is such a hidden gem! Their lattes are fantastic and their food is so delicious! It’s made with local and organic products whenever possible and the best part is that it leaves you feeling satisfied, full and feeling great. They’re my favorite breakfast spot in all of Humboldt but they make delicious lunches too. If you haven’t checked them out yet, you totally should!“

“Very good comfort food for breakfast. I had the lighter roast drip coffee and loved the smell. The avocado toast is very good as well as the hard boiled farm eggs. The coffee pairs very well with the avocado toast. The two together were comfort magic. They have pastries as well - I had the peanut butter cookie and the ginger molasses cookie. They were both very good and also paired well with the coffee, especially the peanut butter cookie. Without coffee, I found the ginger molasses cookie far surpassed the peanut butter cookie in flavor and texture. That’s not saying the peanut butter cookie isn’t also very good. This cafe is inside the Vance Hotel. Did Bob Vance, Vance Refrigeration move across the US and change his line of work. 😜😜 The ambiance of this place is laid back/chill and conducive to reading a good book, remote work, and study. “Service was top notch. The view was outstanding. Got a steak with buttered crab on top. The steak was ok, definitely lower quality, and the crab had plenty of shell bits which was off putting. Hopfully just an off night in the kitchen, otherwise great prices and wait staff.“
