“I had the lamb/beef gyro plate, which came with rice, salad and pita and I’m writing this because I’m very well versed in Mediterranean food, and this is some truly top notch food. White rice can be bland but this one was flavorful, the salad was well seasoned, as was the meat and the pita was the absolute best I’ve had in years. Delicious.“

“Wow!! If you like this style of food, I highly recommend experiencing the utopia of food they offer!
We were moaning and groaning with pleasure with every bite we ate! I may have licked a plate clean, lol.
The attentive and friendly service reflects the passion and integrity the staff and owners have towards creating the best experience possible for each guest.
I believe this may be the best place I've ever been with this type of food. I absolutely look forward to going back. I will crave everything we tried, but especially the lentil soup and rice pudding from now on. Even the rice was beyond perfect in every way.“

“The best food i have ever have. The Kurdish guy was very very very extra very kind. When he knew that I am from Kuwait and spoke Arabic, he invited me to have tea and kunafa with ice cream and stuffed with saffron. The kunafa was very delicious. I really recommend this restaurant.“

“The food was excellent, the atmosphere is casual with lots of seating and nice decor. I got the mixed Gyro plate with chicken and beef. The meat is flavorful and the salad is fresh. Comes with fresh pita, hummus and paprika sauce, with hot sauce at the table. The servers gave us a free slice of baklava drenched in honey and pistachios, and hot tea. Would eat here again!“

“We are from out of town and hosted a destination wedding rehearsal dinner. Contacted Sumac to deliver food to our hotel for the event. I've never had such an efficient, professional, friendly customer service response. The food was AMAZING and they were the easiest part of our event planning! So grateful. Highly recommend.“

“Though the Middle East seem to have it’s challenges in regards to having and maintaining a happy life for themselves, family and friends, there’s one thing you can always count on. Fantastic food. People, the world over simply love it. Enter, Mediterranean Pizza and Gyros on Broadway in Burlingame Ca. For this review we’ll call them MPG. Tired of In-and-Out? Had your fill of whack Carne Asada burritos? Subway’s Subs not quite a foot long? The last thing you wanna see is another lemon pepper chicken wing? If you answer yes to any of these questions, then it’s time for some Middle Eastern cuisine. Most times I’ll just get a Felafel. But while choosing a place to grab a bite from, I decided to eat at MPG.
I ordered the Kofte Plate. In the picture it looks good. It came with a nice portion of delicious fresh bread. It was delightful and held me. The staff was kind and restrooms are available.“

“I usually place takeout orders by calling them. This time, I dined in, and once again, the food was incredible. I also ordered a tea pot and the kunefe dessert. They came by a couple of times to ask if I wanted more tea or if I needed anything else, like extra sauce or bread. That was super thoughtful of them. I love Mediterranean food, but this place gives me a homemade food feeling, which makes me love it even more. They have some cute pictures on the walls featuring Turkey and Turkish food, which makes the place feel very authentic.“

“Dined solo for work trip.
Decor was cute, BUT the window was open because it was super warm and there were a bunch of mosquitos. Made the dinner not so comfortable.
Server was not attentive, so no bad oe good review there.
Food: was eh. My falafel tasted a bit like burnt oil for my taste. BREAD was soo delicious because it was warm. Hummus was decent. Had to order a sidw of rice and it was the best thing I ate. The lemonade was fresh squeezed but toooo sweet.“

“Super friendly staff. This is me and my dates go to spot. We order food and hookah.
This is definitely a place u take ur date to.
If u have a girls night out, this is the place. Many times we been there, there's been those.
The staff is very patient knowledgeable. "Patient" is very important bcuz many of us aren't familiar with the food or culture. But there hasn't been any problems with anyone or food or hookah.
My date always asks to go here and I never turn her down.
Also, their hookah is decently priced. The same as other places i go to, to hookah.
If I come alone, my date considers it "cheating." ?
Food is decently priced. We were surprised but glad. I'm also glad it's a one stop spot. As in, we don't have to go to another place to eat then come to hookah.“

“This is my second visit in this location. It is relatively quiet every time I do come in. There are more online orders than people ordering here.
The workers are super nice! They really gave me the amount I wanted & they did not hesitate to do so.
On my first visit, I ordered a shawafel bowl which means two proteins which are shawarma & falafel. It was pretty abundant which means I did not finish my bowl. I also decided to have mint lemonade as my drink. I like the mint lemonade, it’s a good balance between the two.
Today’s visit was consisted of just steak shawarma rice bowl. I normally get half rice and half salad but this time, I got half salad & half couscous. It was a good decision and probably be the combination I do get for now. I also ordered the strawberry lemonade which, for me, was more watered down.
Most of my bowls have garbanzo beans, extra sumac onions, the sumac cauliflower, tzatziki, cucumber tomato mix & tahini sauce! It is my go to! So so so delicious!
I do still have to taste the pomegranate chicken & eggplant ragout!
Overall, I can see myself coming back here & trying different combinations once a week!
PS. They are close tomorrow, July 4th.
Vegetarian options: Falafel is a huge part of their menu. They also have abundant amount of vegetables to enjoy such as beets, mixed salads, garbanzo beans, pickles & all.
They also have pita chips and pita bread. Anything with hummus as their spread should be okay :) It isn’t a whole lot of option but a vegetarian can definitely eat here & enjoy it as well.“

“We ordered the house combo and it was very tasty. It came with 4 meats(chicken, beef, gyro ,koftedes). All of the meat was juicy, tender and well seasoned. The rice. was fluffy ans delicious. The mixed green salad had tomatoes amd cucumber and was topped with a pickled cabbage and dressed to perfection. I only had a small bite of the pita because rhe meal was so filling. I can't wait to try the baklava we ordered. What a great find. I will definitely be going back to this restaurant.“

“Where do I start? First, I didn’t take pictures of the food because I already ate it 😅. The place (family market) is a nice corner store that sells everything from liquor to groceries with a kitchen attached (The big baba)! We tried their Philly cheese steak and it’s super tasty and filling! We tried the kofta plate and the chicken shawarma plate. The meats are great and the side fries are super tasty and crispy! Garlic fries is a bomb! Prices are fair, food is delicious, and quantities are big. Highly recommended! Will be back!“

“I was visiting the area and found this place on Maps near my hotel. WOW what a find! It was hard making a decision, because everything on the menu sounded great. I got a kefta kebab plate: 3 big pieces of kefta on yellow rice with roasted veggies. It came with a nice salad with lots of finely chopped Persian cucumbers, and a very generous dollop of hummus. And, of course, a lovely big pita. This made dinner last night and lunch today. So yummy. If you like spice, say YES to the hot sauce! Tangy and delicious.
Vegetarian options: Falafel, hummus, baba ganouj
Dietary restrictions: Halal meat“

“Oh my goodness. Such a gem in the rough. Amazing food in the middle of an industrial area. I'm an old fat white guy, and the meal defeated me. For the first time in a long time, I needed a doggy bag. The Shawarma were delicious as were the pickled veggies and cole slaw. The Arabic coffee was to die for. So rich and thick!“

“I figured I've been here enough times that it was time to give a positive review to Nick the Greek. The food is always consistently good, service spot on and a great to go option. Never had a miss here. I appreciate having the ability to order online and pickup onsite. Deseerts are really good too. It's our go to place when we figuring out between cook something or pick up something. We've leaned more towards picking up and Nick the Greek hasn't let us down.
Vegetarian options: There are falafel, hummus and plenty of vegetarian salad options.
Parking: I usually find parking behind. San Carlos in general has inadequate parking space.
Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly. Plenty of space and casual dining. Outdoor tables as well.“
