Ordered a super mixto ceviche that had every kind of seafod on there, and 2 orders of tacos Dorado, which are deep fried shrimp tacos with sauce and avocados on top. Very delicious! “I first visited this place five years ago, and it was amazing—one of my favorite taco spots in L.A. I’d been wanting to try it again, and recently, while visiting SoCal, I had the chance to stop by. While it’s still pretty good, it doesn’t quite feel like it used to. The tacos are smaller now, as is the trend with most places in L.A. I’m not sure what happened, but I’m guessing one of the main tortilla distributors started making them smaller, promoting it as a selling point so that trucks don’t have to use as much meat and ingredients. What surprised me here, though, is that the tortillas are handmade and yet they started making them smaller. I still enjoy them—they really are the closest thing to a Tijuana-style taco. The flavor is excellent, and the guacamole is fantastic! All in all, it is still worth it to make the drive because where else can you get handmade tortillas and thick, gloppy guac? Here!“

“What a gem...hands down the best elotes l've ever had!! The corn man is super nice and super fast at pumping out Elote via cob or bowl. There was probably 20+ people ahead of me with multiple orders but it only took 25 minutes to get through since he's so efficient. It can be so amazingly rich and heavy for some folks but this is what you're coming for! A guilty pleasure ruminating in cheese, mayo and liquid butter and corn. “Villa's Tacos were amazing! and I'm not saying this just because of the hype of the Super Bowl. I'm saying this because I mean it. The tacos were just amazing to me. Not your regular everywhere tacos. These tacos were homemade recipes. I had the carne asada, pork with potato (puerco con papa) & beans with cactus (frijoles con nopal). It's a week later that I tried these tacos and I can't stop talking about them. My favorite was the beans with cactus. Soooo good. Also, the atmosphere was just so nice and lively. “At an unassuming end of an Echo Park parking lot are a pair of massive parasols providing temporary respite from the blaze of the sun; under its shade is a solitary figure pouring over the heat of a sizzling steel plate, sandwiched between two great flames in a solitary act of creation. The place is Alejandra's, and the creation is some of the best quesadillas you can get in LA.

Coming up to the stand, you eye the menu and make your order, $8 dollars each or $10 for a dual topping type. There is potentially a bit of a wait due to every meal being freshly made on order, but it is a good and worthwhile wait, the staff, clientele, and food being most hospitable.

At your order, purple dough is flattened to a blue corn tortilla, each tortilla freshly pressed and grilled in front of you. You watch it sizzle and rise brown, flip over, and continue its cycle to grow crisp.

Topping highlights for me include squash blossoms and pork, which is chicharrones with a surprising crisp and crunch better than almost any other I've had, the ring of each bite echoing autumn leaves crunching under my feet, its condensed jerky flavour hemorrhaging in the still present sweetness of a meat once juicy.

The stand provides a salsa bar with red and green sauces available, and other vegatative essentials- onion, cilantro, and pepper- serve as a lush and fresh forestry for the surprisingly substantial spice of the salsa to lick upon; piled upon the mountain of food and flavour, the green and red splatters evoked the Hollywood Hills, the red salsa smokey and particularly burning like the fires of last year.

It's an addicting taste well worth the visit and short walk to sit and enjoy the meal in Echo Park. I'm excited to come back and try more ingredients for sure, very likely two or three quesadillas at a time to help expedite the process, as it can't be helped.

“SO GOOD! Got the pizza Taiyaki and didn't even know it came with a sauce. If you post a pic of your food and tag them on instagram, they'll give you a free Taiyaki! This was my first time getting a Taiyaki, and it was delicious as heck. The SAUCE was so unexpected so when I dipped my pizza Taiyaki in it, I was like holy moly this is so good??? It reminds me of Mexican salsa. I gotta come back and try their different flavors, probably one of the sweeter ones!“

“Tamales Naborina is truly a hidden gem a street vendor that has been a staple in Watts for years. It’s the kind of place that’s known by locals, and while it’s somewhat of a well-kept secret, I believe everyone deserves to experience their incredible tamales!

**Location:** You can usually find the bright yellow food truck at the corner of 105th and Wilmington Avenue.

**Service:** The service is impressively quick, especially given the number of customers they serve in the morning. You'll be in and out before you know it!

**Parking:** Keep in mind that parking is limited to street parking, so be prepared to search for a spot and take a short walk to the truck.

**Food:** The tamales here are as authentic as it gets! They use traditional masa with lard and offer a variety of fillings, including red chicken, green chicken, red pork, and cheese tamales. I always opt for their cheese tamales, as they truly do not skimp on the cheese-to-masa ratio, make sure you ask for extra napkins to absorb the grease from the tamales. Don’t forget to grab their green salsa topped with onion and cilantro—it’s a must-have accompaniment and their champurrado is delicious!

On weekends, they also offer banana leaf-wrapped tamales and corn tamales, also known as Uchepos—if you know, you know!

The planning was pretty good, as the food, games, shops, and entertainment were all separated from each other, so it was pretty easy to walk around and experience everything 626 had to offer. The carnival games were actually pretty fun to play, which was a big plus. The squid stick was definitely the highlight of the food for me, as it was worth the long wait to get it.

The only bad things was the unpredictability of the quality of almost every shop. Some of the food was pretty good, some not worth the money. The lobster bread I got was not only expensive, but it was small and not good. There were also a lot of shops that were kind of repetitive, as Labubus was everywhere. If you go next time, go with a bunch of people, look up some food recommendations before waiting in line, and just enjoy!“

“Omg, hands down the best tacos in the 626. And trust me, I’ve had my fair share from TJ Tacos to Tacos El Gordo in San Diego and even Taco El Franc. This spot is legit. The line every night says it all.

We ordered the torta de asada, taco superior de buche, asada nachos and an esquite.
Every single bite was a wonderful experience.
I added the mango habanero sauce to my torta and it paired so well, it added that sweetness to the torta that elevated the food. The taco was also absolutely amazing.
None of the food was dry or bland, the tortilla was even delicious on its own. I would highly highly recommend stopping by for a quick bite and try the Aguas Fresca too!
