In terms of corporate performance, this Subway is like every other one; they are fairly interestinguishable. In terms of the specific location, I've only been here once, but I found the person behind the counter to be efficient, friendly, and engaging. No reason not to go here if you like subways restaurants.“

“I’m touring a condo in Oakland for a client making an offer and I stop for a quick bite at a tiny sandwich place next to the Grand Lake Theater. OMG, Unbelievable sandwiches, smoked meats, homemade pickles, peppers🫑 and memorable pulled pork, etc. I hang out for a few minutes while Jerry makes my Cuban sandwich, and he has me try their smoked bacon, homemade meatballs, and more. “I got the special combo ham sandwich without cilantro and jalapeno - but I found a jalapeno in my sandwich. My partner also found jalapeno in #20 grilled pork with lemon grass even it was ordered with no jalapeno. Beside that complaint, the banh mi was really good! The bread is soft and crunchy without hurting the roof of our mouth and it's fully stuffed with the meats and veggies while being affordable!

Although the inside of the shop is clean and organized, the streets is seemingly sketchy and dirty looking so be cautious. It might be hard to find parking.

Otherwise, it's worth to stop by to try!“

“Simple deli with imported Italian goodies. It seemed family owned and like they had regulars. Really nice people and community vibe. There are many sandwiches to choose or you can make your own. We got one muffuletta and one turkey bacon with pesto, mayo, cheese, and veggies. The gardenia on the muffuletta was delicious! Tangy, flavorful, and chunky. We tried the sourdough roll and it absorbed the gardenia juice really well and not soggy. The turkey was loaded! We got the Dutch crunch bread. Both were very good, bread was amazing I could just eat the roll. I can’t wait to go back.“

“This review is just for the Sichuan Hot Chicken which I've eaten twice. Overall it's pretty good, but it's not great, and I really want it to be great. In concept this is a really thoughtful and well-executed sandwich. It has great veggies and really crisp, juicy chicken. It reminds me of what I had in the night markets in Taiwan. The breading is good too, although I feel it could be a bit thicker.

Where it falls short for me is in flavor. The Sichuan spices are there, but they are overpowered by the sheer amount of chili powder and salt that the chicken is breaded in. I was looking for more in the sauce as well - honestly maybe just adding more sauce would accomplish that. If I could get more of that peppercorn flavor, less salt, and more sauce, I think it'd be a 10/10.“

“This place is exactly the spot you want to come to for lunch. The owner is super nice and you can tell it’s got regulars with how he greets everyone in the door. The menu itself is quite vast but he does a good job walking folks through it and running a tight ship.

Sandwich itself was quite tasty. I went for the brisket which was juicy and tender. Certainly will fill you up as well. I would love to come back to this place to try it again next time I’m in town.“

“I know.... They take a hit on atmosphere but let me explain..... This little locally known spot may have the best sandwiches 🥪😜 in the bay! And I'm not kidding. I first came here when I was 15 and nothing has changed, the consistency is overwhelming. The cheese steaks ranged supreme here, real 🍖 meat, not that shaved frozen stuff. You'll see patrons leaving with 4, or 5 this is serious business 😂, They have a pastrami also that I believe will rival any you get in New York, Fry's always nice 👍 to order. Only thing is the dining room hasn't been updated since the 90s , practically same table and chairs. Some people might find it a little rough but for me it's like coming home. Very few businesses have survived in Oakland this long. They even have a News post from the 70s giving thanks to the founder. And yeah it's in a rough neighborhood but to get to the good food that's where you gotta go😂👍 good job guys!! I'll be back on Friday for another, and don't forget the Tiki punch.“

“I visited your restaurant on Saturday, May 31st, needing to place a last-minute catering order. María at the counter was absolutely amazing—she patiently helped me choose the quinoa and avocado salad, which was fresh, flavorful, and a perfect fit for our event.

Even though I was told that same-day catering orders are usually not possible, María went above and beyond to make it happen and ensured the order was ready by 12 noon, just in time.

She also gave us some great tips and helped us select two different side dishes, both of which were a big hit. I truly appreciate the exceptional service and care. We’ll definitely be coming back for future catering needs. Huge thanks to María and the entire team“

The lone employee apologized for the wait, but honestly not his fault.The Sandwicheez burger was really good! Not quite my favorite in downtown Oakland, but I’d eat here again. The white roll was soft enough and a little crusty around the edges which was a really nice textural contrast. That said, this was a pretty wet burger.The American cheese was melty, adding saltiness to the burger in a good way. In fact, for me, the patties could have been seasoned a bit more and honestly, for this style of burger, I’m not sure that Niman Ranch beef was the best choice.Yes, the burger had a good, beefy flavor, but the patties lacked the crust that I really look for in a burger cooked on a flat top that is supposed to be on the nicer side. Given the price, which is lower than many other burger places in the area, this is an acceptable trade off, but I really don’t see what Niman Ranch beef adds here unless it’s the weight of name recognition.The Sandwicheez burger was missing the smashed avocado, or else I couldn’t see or taste it. After eating it, I’m not entirely sure what it would have added to the experience except for maybe creaminess, which might have helped to cut the aforementioned wetness.The fries were shoestring-style and fried just the way I like them; golden and crisp on the outside with a fluffy interior. The one downside of the fries was that they were all really short for some reason. And I guess it’s also worth mentioning that their house ketchup is Hunt’s and not Heinz.All in all, this is a pretty solid option, but would be better if it were staffed by more than one employee. When I went, that dude was working so hard, he had to ask me what time it was and was surprised when I told him it was nearly 2pm.From what I saw, because this one employee was so busy, he actually had to have customers pay for their food just as they received it, not before. Anyway, good food with a few minor things to tweak, but really pretty good.“

It was ready when I got there I recognized the lady's voice and ask her for the manger she told me she was the manager on duty. She asked me if there was something wrong with the order.I told I just wanted to let her boss know how pleasant she was talking to something about her voice . She said thank you and asked me if there was anything else she could do for me . I stop coming to this location because of the service but decided to give it another chance because I live so close.
