“Came here for drinks and appetizers. Amazing crispy catfish salad (so bright, balanced, savory, herbaceous) and the mak grut (keffir lime leaf) cocktail was one of the best cocktails I’ve ever tasted—complex, fragrant, refreshing and just delicious. As a person with Thai ancestry who is picky about his Thai food, I definitely recommend this place for a creative spin on Thai food that still respects the proper balance of flavor, at very least based on the two things I tasted!Great service and atmosphere as well. Can’t wait to come back and have a full meal.“
“Hole in the wall Thai restaurant. Traditional flavors that hit all the right notes. I've been to tons of Thai restaurants all over the United States and this place is by far one of the greatest of all time. Reasonably priced and dishes pack a huge punch. Don't let the decor or location fool you, this place is worth checking out. I've been here twice in the past 2 weeks lol. Servers are always nice and food comes out PIPING HOT. Pro tip, ask for dishes spicier if you can hang and ask for with the spice rack to add an extra kick!“
“Peanut sauce as usual was fantastic (with fresh vegetable rolls). Brussels sprouts were yummy. The only low point was the lamb chops. They were tiny and you only got 3 and they were charred. Everything else got hobbled up and the presentation, as usual, was stunning!“
“Just found this place recently, and been there two times afterward! It is absolutely on the top of our Thai places list. Have there Penang and green curries, crying tiger, short ribs, salmon on banana leaves, and few cocktails. Everything was delicious and artfully presented. Salmon was on point and ribs were so soft and flavorful. Craft cocktails were complex and added to the experience.“
“Visited this local Lao spot on a friend’s recommendation and wow, it didn’t disappoint! From the moment we walked in, the vibe was cozy and welcoming - exactly what you’d want from a neighborhood gem. The service was on point too; our server was super friendly, gave us great recommendations, and really knew their stuff. Now, let’s talk food because that’s the real star here. I went for the Pad Kee Mao, and it was absolutely delicious - spicy, flavorful, and just packed with all the good stuff. But the unexpected highlight? Their oysters! Affordable, fresh, and just so tasty, they were a total game-changer for me. It’s not often you find such quality at those prices.Overall, this place is a must-visit if you’re in the mood for some authentic Lao cuisine or just in search of a solid dining experience. Great food, great prices, and great service. I’ll definitely be back!“
“Best Thai food in the Bay Area. The Khao Soi soup is an explosion of flavor and so delicious. The way they package it to go, your soup and chicken stay hot and your crispy bits stay crispy it's magical. Every time family visits me here, I order from here. The staff is also incredible. I will continue to frequent this place regularly until I leave the Bay.“
“Such a great restaurant! The food is absolutely amazing and the staff are all super friendly, courteous and efficient! Hats off to the kitchen, the staff, and the chefs! Pipi & May are fantastic!!! I highly recommend this restaurant if you love Thai cuisine!!! 5 stars ? ? ? ? ?“
“On this cold atmospheric rainy day, I'm glad I scored a parking spot right outside otherwise I might given up on trying this place. I'm glad the parking gods were with me today. It gave me the chance to try their Thai beef boat noodle soup. Omg it was perfect. The broth was a flavorful deep sweet soy sauce based broth with earthy spice undertones. The thinly sliced beef was tender. The noodles were al dente with a nice chew. Perfection in a bite. They had cute condiments but I didn't need to use anything. It was super tasty as it is. Anytime I'm in Alameda I'll definitely stop by for some great Thai food. A cute sweet Thai family runs this place.“
“The food was made Northern home-made style. It doesn't deviate so the menu is predictable but the quality was excellent and better than most in this area. Service is spectacular... I'm a child of a restaurant owner with high expectations! Crab fried rice had chunks of crab vs minced pieces. Salmon curry was full of crunchy vegetables and served 2. Fresh rolls, Thom Yum soup and calamari were all worth ordering.“
“It's a welcome sight to see the original owners of the restaurant back! The husband is the waiter and the wife is the cook. I ordered the exotic herb salad and pad Thai. Both were authentic, flavorful, and simply delicious! It was takeout, so I didn't take photos.“
“Our lunches, both Mango salads, were vibrant & fresh, packed with flavor, three plump shrimp and beautifully presented with a gorgeous purple flower. Will be getting cravings for this again very soon and all summer long. We are so looking forward to trying all of their dishes, they all looked incredible as we were making our way out of this elegant restaurant. Be sure to put enough money in your meter before entering the restaurant ($2.50 per hour). The fine (it is a private lot) is hefty.“
“Wawa Thai delivered a delightful dining experience with their take-out Pad Thai. The dish was well-executed, boasting a harmonious blend of flavors and fresh ingredients. The noodles were perfectly cooked, and the balance of sweet, sour, and savory elements was spot on. Portion size was generous, ensuring satisfaction with every bite. Wawa Thai certainly earns a recommendation for those craving authentic Thai cuisine.“
“Ordered lunch to go for three. Quick and courteous service. Excellent curries and pad Thai. A number of vegetarian options. The curried fish is incredible! Will definitely go again!Vegetarian options: A number of vegetarian dishes with vegetarian options on a few dishes, but not with the main curries.“
“This place was so good! Some of the best yellow curry I have ever had. Full of flavor and super fresh. It’s a family run place and you can sense that with the quality of food and the level of service. If I wasn’t from out of town I’d be back in a heartbeat.“
“The food is very good, as are the prices. Duck curry is excellent, although they could be a tiny bit more generous with the duck. A sense of authentic Thai cuisine and culture right down to the seasoning and herbal tea leaves.Vegetarian options: A few vegetarian options.Wheelchair accessibility: Door seems wide enough. No stairs. Some tables accessible from the doorway. It is a relatively small restaurant.“
“Our dining experience at Bangkok Garden last evening was nothing short of delightful. From the moment we stepped through the door, we were greeted by the warm smiles of the staff. They promptly escorted us to our table, where our orders were taken and served with remarkable efficiency. Accompanied by our two young children, who were exceptionally well-catered to, we indulged in a variety of dishes. The grilled chicken satay and the fresh spring rolls were the stars of the evening. It's certain that we will be returning for another memorable meal. Bangkok Garden comes highly recommended!“
“We checked this place out for Oakland's restaurant week. I was absolutely amazing. Every dish was cooked to perfection. The salmon was great, I love crunchy fish skin and they nailed it. We also tried the red curry. I was all delicious. The service was awesome as well. Even though is was the end of the night and they were closing shop, the staff didn't make us feel rushed. I can genuinely say this was some of the best restaurant food I've had in a while. Every dish was bursting with flavor without being over seasoned or too salty.“
“The appetizers, mains, and deserts are all top notch here. As a "farang" who worked in Thailand, in large part because of my love of the food and culture, I am picky about my Thai spots. This one hits all the high notes. They can make anything American spiciness, but can also do "ped maak" for those of us that love true Thai spiciness. meat and veg dishes are equally delicious. Presentation is artful and the service is tremendous with the sweetest staff around. Whether you do noodles, meats, or veggies for the main, don't miss the fried bananas and coconut ice cream desert!“
“Generous portions of food, packed with flavor! We got these dishes with spring rolls and shared it all1. Sweet chicken on rice - crispy sweet & spicy chicken came with rice, loved it2. Pad Thai3. Duck noodle soupDelicious and packaged very well.“
“This is a cozy little hole in the wall spot for authentic Laotian food. The food is consistent for dine-in and takeout and has great portions for the price. I'm always guaranteed leftovers.I suggest trying the namkhao, gaeng nor mai, and raw beef laab (if you like raw, but cooked beef is available as well).Everything about the place is great, besides the location. It's happens to be in a not so friendly looking location, but don't let that stop you from trying out their food. Get take out and you won't be disappointed.“
“Super fresh, good for a variety of eaters with different appetites. Very happy with my clay pot veggies, steamed to just tender and well seasoned/sauced. Service was a little scattered, but it might have been a busier lunch shift than normal.“
“In a rough part of town but that's what takeout is for. You gotta try their Naem Khao Tod...legit thai food. You also know it's legit thai when you order it as mild and there's enough heat to make your nose think about sweating. That's my fair warning to folks who are used to "white girl spicy."“
“We've been thinking about trying this restaurant for some time now, and I'm very glad we did. Our past Thai favorite, Champa Garden, seems to have gone downhill. Charm Thai Bistro, our new favorite, is much closer. We split an appetizer, the puff pastry turnovers, which we never had in Thailand. The waiter told us that they were street food. Whatever, they're delicious. Then we had a Pad Thai (very good) and a green curry. I thought it was perfect, but it was a little spicy for my husband, so if you prefer a milder spiced dish, tell the waiter. I can't wait to try their other curries and house specialties. I might even try the Black Sticky Rice Mango pudding, even though after having it in Thailand, it's always something of a disappointment in the U.S.“
“Very friendly service, good food, reasonable prices and a nice atmosphere. They do both Thai and Japanese menus including sushi and sashimi. Excellent value lunch deals during the week. I particularly like the yellow curry and orange peel chicken. My kids love the poke bowl.Vegetarian options: Most dishes are available with tofu in place of meat protein.“
“Plearn Thai Palace is very traditional this place with nice Thai food. They have their Singha beer, one can enjoy while eating spicy food. The restaurant is small in seating but seems to be popular for take outs.Vegetarian options: YesDietary restrictions: Food for allParking: Street parking or near the libraryWheelchair accessibility: Yes“
“Great Thai restaurant. Wonderful atmosphere and service. Some of the dishes are outstanding. The Kha Moo was an excellent dish of Thai meets Chinese influence with meat that just melts in your mouth. The fresh spring rolls appetizer is not to be missed; delicious ingredients served with 2 well contrasting “
“This place is a go to, open pretty late good food and nice sized portions. The service is always good and fast. Usual orders are duck noodle soup or chicken pad see ew. Duck soup is never to oily and seasoned well.Pad see ew is flavorful with lots of chicken and veggies, not too sweet or saucy.Parking: Free parking lot in the shopping centerWheelchair accessibility: Accessible and welcome“
“We have been dining at Soi4 since it opened. Most recently we have been ordering takeout which is always good. We stopped in for dinner last night and found they had a fabulous happy hour menu. Extensive list of well balanced cocktails for $10, and small bites for $8. Everything was delicious and service and presentation were stellar. An enjoyable evening was had by all and we will definitely dine in more often!“
“Delicious Thai food! Fast friendly service - had ordered delivery on-line before and soooo good had to go back- definitely a must try for Thai food in San Leandro. Faves crab fried rice, pad Thai, crispy pork belly and crab cream cheese wontons. Outdoor seating only - but also quick delivery and take out.“
“Consistent, tasty, and super fast and friendly service. If you’re looking for the classics of Thai street food, you’ll find them here. Not avant garde, just everything as you’d expect - which is great. Mild is mild, spicy is spicy. Vegetarian options: Likely anything can be made vegetarian aside from fried chicken.Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp into the main dining area.“
“I ordered a chicken pad kea mao (drunken noodles) and it was really good although… they gave me pork instead of chicken. And I didn’t know about that until they came over to the table with the plate that had chicken. Thankfully I am able to eat pork but… be careful if you are not— ask twice to make sure you get the right dish. Otherwise, they were very accommodating to our very large group.“
“This is a modern and casual dining Thai restaurant with affordable price that provides various appetizers, soup, chef's recommended menu, salad, barbecue, noodle, curry, wok, along with alcholic and non alcoholic drinks. We were here to have a dinner with a friend who is a university student here, so that this place is suitable for the students. We tried Panang Nua for $15.95 as one of the chef's re commended menu here. A plate of white rice with the tender beef, Thai chili, coconut milk, peanut sauce, basil, zucchini, green bean, red bell in a thick sweet and savory curry sauce. For the drink, my friend recommended Singha Thai Beer. This was my first time having this Thai beer, and I could say that Singha is good! It's not bitter, but not overly sweet.“
“Delicious food and great service. We ordered the Tom Kha soup, pumpkin curry and pad see ew. We were given large portions so nice for leftovers! The service was excellent very friendly and checking in on us periodically. We came before the dinner rush and loved having the space and staff attention.Vegetarian options: Most items you can choose your own protein including veggies or tofu“
“I'm not even kidding when I say the chicken on the BBQ chicken sandwich is the best chicken I've ever had on a sandwich ever. It was so juicy and the sandwich was incredible. I cannot wait to come back. I cannot recommend highly enough!“
“First off when I walked in it was nice and cozy especially when the cute waitress greated me and my family! Our food was yum, it also came out very fast. I'm pretty sure that this place is a family business which makes it 10x better to support. We had the waitress snag some suggestions for us and that was not a regret what so ever. She picked out so many good dishes I barely remember but I remember how good the mango sticky rice was!Wheelchair accessibility: They have a wheel chair ramp for the disabled!!!“
“Great spot to get wonderful Thai food. The ginger salad is a MUST try, palate cleansing salad with fresh ginger strips, crunchy veggies topped off with nuts & a sweet dressing. The pad thai (beef) is also amazing with a sweet & tangy taste.“
“Dropped in last night for a late dinner, 8:30 PM. I ordered a chicken dish off a new menu and it was the single best meal I have had in some time. Chicken, coconut, rice, cilantro and a wonderful bowl of broth.Cannot recall the name, Ro-Rhotem?They got beyond the usual noodles that so many people seem to love.Expand your horizons and come in for a visit. There is so much more to Thai cuisine and this is one place to get it.“
“This is one of my favorite Thai restaurants because they are so great with my fish allergy. They let me know that the items that I want to order don't have fish sauce and it's a good amount of options for me. The food is also great and I thought prices are reasonable for lunch. I see a lot of reviews about portions being small but I have never felt that when eating here. It's always more than enough food and I'm always taking something to go because I can't finish. The only minus one star is if you do come during a busy time, the service can be slow but it is understandable because there is only one person working (at least when I've gone). If you are trying to have a quick meal and they are busy, it likely won't be and take-out might be faster.“
