“A Hidden Gem That Feels Like the French Quarter Itself! From the moment we stepped into The Quarter in Claremont, it was like being whisked straight to New Orleans. The atmosphere was electric — the scent of Creole spices in the air, the soft hum of conversation mingled with jazz playing in the background, and the decor that looked plucked right out of the French Quarter. I half-expected to walk outside and find a brass band on the corner! We started with the soft-shelled crab and grits, perfectly crisp and full of Southern comfort. The fried catfish topped with crawfish étouffée was rich, flavorful, and absolutely indulgent — pure Louisiana soul on a plate. The roasted catfish with lump crab was delicate yet decadent, each bite melting in your mouth. Even the bread and butter were unforgettable — the sweet Creole butter was so good we could’ve made a meal out of it alone. Our bourbon cocktails were spot-on — smooth, balanced, and crafted with care — and we finished with the bread pudding drizzled in warm bourbon sauce, which was heavenly. “I was honestly flabbergasted by this experience in the best way. My DoorDash order got mixed up with someone who had the same name, but I didn’t even know there was an issue before the owner of Dr. Grubb’s called me.

They explained everything, told me to keep the wrong order, and said they were already on their way to personally deliver the correct one. My order was small, just for one person, but they still went completely out of their way to fix it.

“I live in Nebraska and visit southern California once or twice a year. I always make it a point to stop in for a Carnelian and a Mediterranean with chicken. They have the best crust I have ever had and the toppings are superb. I love that they use red onions rather than white or yellow. I highly recommend them as both a foodie and a chef. I've had some good pizza, but I have yet to find such an amazing crust anywhere else. It's yeasty and well structured. I could swear they are utilizing an old dough proofing method by the taste and chewiness of the crust. The owner is awesome and I always have a great experience.“
