“We had Spicy Bites cater my wife’s birthday party yesterday, and the food was outstanding. They offered a great range of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. The appetizers were fantastic — the gobi Manchurian was flavorful, the chicken sixty five was delicious, and the Parangkori fish was absolutely awesome. For the main dishes, we had the paneer tikka masala and paneer Vijayawarra biryani, both excellent vegetarian choices. The Ambur mutton biryani was equally impressive. Best of all, their banquet service was seamless and really helped us host an awesome party. Every single dish was incredibly tasty, and all of our guests were genuinely impressed. “Great to see some Indian flavors in Mountain House. I was surprised by the appam, idiyappam and dosa varieties here. These dishes were really good and yummy. I had tried some appetizers, but was at par for me (could be because of overwhelming options I had in other states). The restaurant was calm and great with some music running in the back. The service was really great.“

“Had an amazing experience at Desi Food On Fire in Tracy. Everything we tried tasted incredibly authentic and full of flavor. The vada pav was absolutely on point with soft pav and perfectly spiced filling. But the real standout for us was the stuffed chole kulche, which tasted just like proper North Indian street food. You can tell the food is made fresh and with care. Definitely one of the best Indian food truck experiences we’ve had in the area. Highly recommend!“

“I had the Tellicherry Chicken Dum Biryani at Kovalam Restaurant in Tracy this weekend, and it was outstanding. I have tried dum biryani from almost all the Indian restaurants in Tracy, but this one truly stands out.

They use traditional Kaima rice, a short-grain, fragrant rice from Kerala that is different from the long basmati rice most people are used to. The grains are small, soft, slightly plump, and absorb the spices beautifully, giving the biryani a rich, layered flavor in every bite. It makes the dish taste authentic and deeply satisfying.

The chicken was tender and lightly shallow-fried before being layered into the dum, which gave it an amazing texture and depth of flavor. The spices were perfectly balanced, and the aroma was incredible. You can really taste the attention to detail by owner-operator Chef Philip.

It reminded me of authentic Dum biryani back home.

Highly recommend everyone to give it a try. If you want true Tellicherry (Malabar)-style Dum biryani in Tracy, this is the place.“

“Really liked the biryani here. We tried both the goat dum biryani and chicken dum biryani, and both were very good. The goat was tender and full of flavor, and the chicken biryani had a nice spice level without being too heavy.
The rice was cooked well and had that proper dum biryani flavor. Definitely a good spot if you’re craving biryani.“
