“I am Chinese but I am not new to India food. Among all India buffet in the Tri-Valley area, I would give Pakka Local the highest ranking with their authenticity, taste, ambiance, and variety.

Their Dragon Chicken has a very different flavor than the tandoori style and a must-try. The masala dosa is my other favorite. For $25 lunch buffet over the weekend, we even have finger millet ragi sangati, mango lassi, and shrimp curry. I cannot think of another buffet place that offers that many high quality authentic food options.

For every dish that I am not aware of, I have been using Claude AI to learn more background of the dish and the appropriate way to appreciate the dish. Well done Pakka Local!

“Excellent service, the person at the door was very concerned with seating us quickly as we were with our 2 year old. Once ordered our food arrived in less than 5 minutes when the restaurant was full during lunch. Food itself was excellent, perfectly made idli, vada, sambhar and chutney. The dosas were amazing. Couldn't resist trying the Filter coffee ice cream and coconut ice cream. Both were perfect sweet and great tasting. Packed Uttapams for the evening for when we reach home to Los Angeles.

“We had a great experience recently with Anurag and his catering team at our event. They were on time, very professional, and came fully prepared without missing even the smallest things. The food was delicious and all our guests really love the overall taste and experience. The live chole bhature station was a huge hit, and we especially loved that they adjusted the spice level exactly as requested. Guests also loved the chilly paneer, and everyone kept talking about how juicy and flavorful the chicken tikka was. The chicken lollipop tasted really good too. Overall, everything was handled smoothly and professionally.

The ambiance was nice but the Lous music with high base volume made it difficult to have a conversation. Gobi 65 to start off was disappointing but they quickly upped it with kizhi parotta which although looked unauthentic tasted pretty good. Then the seeraga samba biryani and nei dosai were amazing! Authentic Tamil style with right amount of flavors. Sambar and chutney were great too. Kuzhi paniyaram was fantastic - soft and fluffy with proper marination and salt. I’m a fan of that hand grounded garlic - kaara chutney.I recommend this for Tamil food in east bay.“
