“Definitely the best Indian food in all of the Bay. It's mostly a to go place, but there is some seating including a nice outside patio area. If you come on a Saturday, it's next to all the galleries so view art and eat well. It shares the location with a wonderful Jamaican chef. Try the stuff naan, best daal takika imaginable (made fresh to order) and the Rogan lamb. This will become your favorite Indian restaurant.“
“Raj is great. I have eaten here over 10 times since I have discovered this place last November. Literally, equivalent to home cooked food. He can modify most dishes to your preference (Vegan, in my case). The highlights are the naan (homemade, none of that pre-made microwaved/baked stuff), the aloo gobi, chana masala, veggie samosas w/tamarind sauce & veggie biryani. I could probably write a paragraph for each of those dishes, but I will let your imagination fill in the gaps... Having said that, there are some challenges. 1. One man operation- so there may sometimes be delays with pick-ups. 2. It is in the hood, hood. If you aren't from around here, please pay attention. 3. Take out only If you can overcome those challenges, then you can have the opportunity to eat some of the best Indian food I have ever tasted, Northern or Southern. (This is Northern btw) I am conflicted because it is a great food, close proximity and priced at a high value. However, if Raj were to move I would totally understand and he would probably be more successful for it. I would still go patronize him too.“
“As an Indian who is often skeptical of the restaurants around the Bay, I was quite impressed by this.Good value for money, overall good flavor (not too whitewashed lol), great service, nice ambiance.Wish the best to this restaurant and hope they include more South Indian dishes in the future!“
“This place is one of my favorite in the Bay area. The quality has been remarkably consistent over the past year and every dish I've tried has been very good. The khichari got me through COVID.I am really not a fan of picking up from here because it's always packed with delivery drivers; making parking difficult and talking to the staff quite frustrating. My mitigation strategy is to wait at the window that's to the right of the front door so they see you when they come up.Even though the above is frustrating, the food is always worth it. If the price was lower, I'd eat here more often.Vegetarian options: Lots of options!Parking: It's almost always packed with drivers. Just find the first spot nearby and walk.“
“Hands down one of the best Indian pizzas I've ever had. We ordered the Spicy Bread, Chicken Pizza Masala & Mango Monsoon. I felt like I couldn't eat it fast enough! Definitely worth the food coma. Ty for the good vibes and delicious noms ??“
“I've eaten here 3 times. EVERYTIME the food has been delicious. every time the service has been friendly. No, it's not "fine dining". Don't expect it. They have this cauliflower dish that tastes like spicy chicken wings. I don't know how they do it.“
“I’ve been to this amazing restaurant a couple of times now and come back for the great food and amazing service. This is a great restaurant with the kindest people running it. I placed a very large takeout order without calling in advance and was received with so much kindness and was even given some extras! The food here is absolutely delicious and the owner went above and beyond.“
“Party of 4 for mid-week lunch on quiet large patio Food + service very good. Chicken biryani was large ( took some home for dinner) + chicken was tender. 2 persons had the veggie tandoori appetizer of mushrooms + asparagus. Garlic Naan ordered-delicious as was the mango drink“
“My go-to Friday night take out after a long work week! Food is consistently delicious and affordable especially compared to every other Bay Area Indian restaurant. C'mon $12.99 for Chicken Tika Masala? That's UNHEARD OF. I am loyal to this place thank you Delicious Curry House for your service!“
“Using the TooGoodToGo app i decided to give Bamboo Asia a try sometime late last year. Using this app is a cool way to try different restaurants in your area, but the catch is that the food is a surprise so what I got was unbeknownst to me until I arrived. The first time I came I got a curry of some sort. The second time I got a beef kind of dish. It was good and there was a large portion given both times. Anyway, there is a lot to choose from had I gone here any other time just to order. The interior is cute with plenty of seating. I imagine this being a popular spot amongst those working in the area.“
“$30 for one Lamb Karahi and Garlic Naan including tip and tax. Good sized portion for after the gym.Taste was really good, but I’ve had better Lamb Karahi, of a similar portion, for less money in the East Bay.If the value doesn’t bother you this is a great place.“
“Quality and presentation is great and the food is good. However, a great meal (especially the Indian cuisine) isn’t just about sustenance. The Ingredients and Spices are the magical tools, adding depth, warmth, and complexity to every dish transforming ordinary meal into extraordinary experiences. So with that in mind, I recommend the sizzling dishes, we had fish and prawns which were good & tasty. I was not impressed by the Chicken Tikka Masala which is my favorite dish, it was too ordinary and just dull. The Fish curry was ok. The rice is too ordinary and not what I expect for an Indian Basmati rice. Nan/Garlic-Nun are good as well as the Samosas. 3.1/2 Starts for Food.(3= Good, 4= Great, 5= Exceptional.)“
“I tried finally some takeout from this place after hearing so much buzz about it. The paneer tiki masala and rice I had was very tasty. The spices were nicely balanced and not too bold. The paneer was slightly chewy rather than the more firm texture I'm used to. At some point I will go back for a sit-down meal there since the dining area looked cozy and inviting. I'm not 100% sure I'd try the paneer again, but menu had all the usual suspects so I'm sure I'll find an alternative. The service was very friendly and fast.“
“Everything was delicious! My favorite was the chana masala. The fried peanuts are like nothing I've had before, in a great way (but not date food since it's loaded with raw onions and garlic ?). People are really nice and it's now my go-to spot when I'm in the area. I can't wait to try more of the menu!“
“This place was so good and definitely will be going back. While it wasn't very busy at the time (Went around 6:30pm)there were a lot to go orders. Staff were so nice and made sure we liked and had everything we needed. We (3 people) ordered Butter chicken and Palak paneer which came with rice. It was go delicious and wasn't heavy on cream like some places. Food was light and flavorful and still filled you up. More than enough for three people. The restaurant is beautiful and spacious. Beautiful chandelier in the middle of the room.“
“Indian food of superior quality; excellent recipes, their veggie rice alone is worth the trip to the Presidio (their kiosk is there Saturday and most weekdays). Chana masala and spicy garbanzo bean bowl is recommended; garlic aioli is a perfect accompaniment. A+++Vegetarian options: Veggie naan wrap and Chana masala bowl are excellent here“
“"YoYo Momoss in Oakland, California is a hidden gem that brings the vibrant flavors of Nepal to the Bay Area. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with the tantalizing aroma of freshly steamed momos. The menu boasts an array of authentic Nepali dishes, each bursting with bold spices and exquisite flavors. Whether you're craving traditional chicken, vegetable, or even adventurous buffalo momos, YoYo Momoss delivers perfection in every bite. The cozy ambiance coupled with attentive service makes dining here an unforgettable experience. Don't miss the opportunity to explore the rich culinary heritage of Nepal at YoYo Momoss .“
“All the bad ratings is from these entitled Indian people who expect the food to be like their own Indian restaurant not realizing that this is a North Indian punjabi restaurant so don’t mind the bad reviews and definitely go visit this place and the food is very good “
“We encountered this Indian fusion food truck at Almanac Brewery in Alameda. We were immediately excited by the extremely creative menu with so many options. There are many vegetarian options as well as meat. We ordered the paneer tacos and got the tikka masala sauce on the side and it was so fresh and flavorful! The quantity (3 tacos) was very worth the cost. We are looking forward to going back and trying all the unique dishes on their menu. The service was also great, the person taking our order was helpful and efficient. Definitely check them out!“
“I LOVED their paneer tikka masala!!!Went there with my South Indian girlfriend. We were looking for a good place for vegetarian Indian food around downtown Oakland. There were a couple of minor things, like opening like 30 min lateI REALLY enjoyed the nice atmosphere, very chill, and relaxing“
“My partner and I are becoming regulars here because the food is delicious every time we come. We’ve had the baingan bhartha (my new favorite), palak daal, aloo mattar, biryani, and palak paneer. The food consistently tastes so fresh and flavorful. Plus, the atmosphere is warm and we always feel welcomed.“
