“This is the kind of bar that you can really settle into. It's the type of bar where you might see two grown men, deep into the night, crying at the end of the bar top as their friends point at them and shake their heads; NOT because what they are doing is wrong but because it's so very right, and they're strong enough to do it.It is a little too light inside, for my taste.“

“This place is down the street from my office and I always see it on the way to work in the mornings. They have a huge sign that says something along the lines of “best burgers in town,” and being a burger person, I accepted the challenge. They were not joking. The burger was not only huge, it was amazing! The burger was juicy and flavorful ?. My mouth is literally watering as I write this. The staff and owner were super friendly and accommodating as well. “Cheapest drinks in town. Bartenders have been there for many years. They pour their drinks strong. Yeah it's a dive bar. But with pool tables, dart boards 3 big TVs and a jukebox. It has all the amenities of any other bar except the trendy yuppies and complainers, because they're too cool for a dive bar. It has good drinks. Good people. And good times. “I went here to find a new place to drink near my new place. It's still a drive from me but, I'm happy to always visit new bars. This one serves beers, wines and trulys. It's cash only but they have an ATM. I took my brother there for helping me move big stuff. We also had my nephew along with us and he was okay to be there. They have a nice shuffleboard and plenty beers on tap. Most stuff is in the fridge and the bar girl was nice. Met some of the regulars so it's a good vibe.“

“Relaxed atmosphere, bartenders are awesome. Now offering soft tip Darts on Phoenix dart boards. At LaMirada and Santa Ana. Could not keep track of all the games there were so many going on tonight not complaining love to keep up with all of them. Really love their logo and what they've done with the doors in both bars. “Heard the bar had reopened so I stopped by on a Thursday night. Bar top was full, but I was able to find a seat. Trish was bartending and was great. Very nice and super attentive. Tap beers were some of the coldest in town. Jukebox was playing great music. Glad to see Ruby's reopened. I'll be back.“

“I love a good cocktail and find it very difficult to find one in this town (that's reasonably priced). I never thought that I'd be rating Alex's Bar as one of the best places to get a cocktail in Long Beach! They really know what they're doing and go the extra mile. I don't go to a lot of live shows anymore, so I don't frequent the place as much as I'd like to. Kudos to Alex and his staff for doing it right and not charging an arm and a leg. A lot of LB bars could learn something from this place.“
“I go here every now and then to meet with co workers and I don't know the bartender's name but it was on 5/16. I left my wallet and I was able to retrieve it the following day with everything in tact. Not to mention drinks come by quick also :)“

He mixed in all the late night heaters & floor fillers. I definitely remember the bar crowd switching on to full dance party mode when DJ Believethat dropped "Candy Rain." DJ Believethat even left the decks to share in the fancy footwork.I got around to having a beer. I must admit it tasted like a beer. It was cold. I found the beer added to the overall levity of the evening. Others were throwing down shots now & then. Anyone who sets foot in the Crow's Nest on a Thursday will definitely get lifted, but hey that's levitation, Holmes.“

Great bartenders (Alena especially!) they’ll even come up to you and take your drink orders when you’re playing pool, and drinks are well priced. The owner is a very nice and chill guy also, no complaints here! They have two pool tables, $1 games.“
