“My family and I usually get food from here after we work out, especially the more healthier options on their menu. The service here is always top notch. The manager, Nicole, was really helpful and patient when we were ordering our food. The other employees are always friendly and helpful. The cleanliness of the restaurant is always spot on. The food is a little expensive, especially the seafood. Other than that, this place is great!“

Tables and chairs are bare bones, but very clean. Because the restaurant is located in a small strip mall near HWY 405 on ramps, the number of parking spaces are inadequate and may require patience to find an open one. Nearby on ramps to HWY 405 were very convenient for egress.“

“So glad I finally stopped by to try it out! I went with a lunch special 2 fish, onion rings and zucchini fries. Just wow! Best onion rings of my life!! The price was very reasonable! Its a small establishment so best for couples or small groups. It definitely has the vibe of the 90s I loved it! No crazy music playing. Just a good small diner. Look forward to coming back!“

“This is take out only. No seating even for wait. The Catfish was good crispy hot seasoned well especially for a person with high blood pressure. My 2nd time here 1st time too hungry to care or pay attention. Entire meal good except fries were barely warm.

“First of all, best Birria tacos we have had in the west coast! Second of all, the staff welcoming and friendliness made the visit special, including insights of the neighborhood living and general culture in Long Beach. “We were recommended to this place by some friends, so we decided to give it a try. We walked in and were immediately greeted, asked if we knew what we wanted. We said we needed a coyote of minutes, but the gentleman said no problem, but answered some questions we had. We ordered the chicken skins, hush puppies and the #1 with light meat (breast and a wing with potato wedges and a roll). The hush puppies were so flavorful, no need for a dipping sauce. The chicken skins were huge and also very flavorful. I finally got to my chicken because it was so hot, I'm not sure because I had the other stuff, but the chicken wasn't as flavorful as the other stuff I had. The potato wedges were good, very hot as well. We will be back! Good value for what you get!“

“My husband and I just ate here tonight and it was excellent! We had the best service ever with a Server/Supervisor named Juan! He has a very vibrant and very positive outlook. His parents should be very proud of him! This man is going to go far in life! And the food was also very delicious! My husband had the fish and fries. “Came here for a business dinner and was seated outside on a beautiful evening. Started off with a mix of oysters and the Cevichos. Both were excellent. Then the 5 of us went different directions for our mains, but my Squid Ink Linguini was top notch! Our server this evening was Chase K. He did excellent and we would love to come back here. The place is pretty big, with a large bar area and a separate banquet hall that’s often used for parties and events. “This place is so good . I tried them once and fell in love and literally ate 3 days in a row . I sometimes travel from downtown LA on the train and take one bus just to eat here … “ it’s that good “ staff are very friendly which is a big plus . “This was really a great experience. The burgers were thicker than any typical theme park burger. The burger was prepared perfectly, with care. This was not another one of many burgers slapped on a grill an cooked en masse. The chicken sandwich was also very taste and prepared just right. This meal was a real treat. The gentleman taking our order was very cheerful and engaged. We spoke briefly with the chef while he was wrapping up our order. He was engaging and fun also. After our delicious meal I walked back up to tell them how pleased we were! A great spot!“

“I hadn’t been here in a long time and decided to stop by for a quick dinner. One of the first things I noticed was that they had switched to self-order kiosks. It actually made ordering much easier. Since I don’t come here often, I wasn’t sure what to get, but having the full menu with pictures and prices on the screen made it easy to look through everything. After just a few taps, my order was placed.

When the food came out, it reminded me why I liked this place. The fresh white fish over rice with vegetables was absolutely delicious. Everything tasted fresh, and the flavors worked really well together. The portions were satisfying without being too heavy.

The restaurant was also very clean, spacious, and well organized. I even noticed they have an outdoor patio, which is a nice bonus if the weather is nice. Overall, everything from the ordering process to the food made for a great experience. I’ll definitely be coming back, and I highly recommend giving this place a try.“

Update: 3 years later and this place is still one of my favorite places 🥰
We ordered dinner from here today and last week. Food is always clean, light, and yummy! I love their bowls and tacos. My 5-year-old is addicted to their shrimp skewers!
Manager was awesome today. He service was outstanding!
By the way, portions are big compared to price! You feel full because of the amount of protein, and sometimes you have some food left in your bowl.

One thing I'd change about California Fish Grill is the plastic food containers... I believe healthy food should be served in healthier containers.

“I really enjoy my dinner at King Fish House. I wasn’t sure when I got there. We made reservations and the hostess decided to place my husband and I on the bar side. With sports and games on. I don’t know why she thought that’s was a good idea since we both was dress for dinner and not to watch a game on tv. I made reservations for a good dinner table. Maybe she didn’t like the mix race situation. But I seated myself. With respect to her. It all turn out very nice. Our waitress and food was amazing. Will definitely go back. Bad attitude hostess is not a factor.“
