“I took my husband for Father’s Day brunch/lunch at our favorite Italian restaurant here in the Palisades and as always it did not disappoint. It never does. He loved his steak and eggs, steak was Devine and I loved my chick pea soup. Always have the panne cotta and the cherry gelato and an espresso in their delightful patio and you’ve been to Italy!“

“This was the 6th tea experience in 6 months and was hands down the best service of all the places we have been. The desserts were really good. The tea had several nice options. Unfortunately, the sandwiches were a miss for both me and my friend. The scone was also more of a biscuit. The view was nice from most of the tables, but ours was in the corner and we just had a view of a dirt hill. The room was very stark, no decor at all. But the tables were nicely set.“

“Didn't fail to meet our expectations. We had a table of 4 and we were good to go in just about 30 minutes. The noodles and meat were so good and the staff were very attentive. Our server, Evelyn refilled water and broth as well as bringing us our food. As a fellow food enjoyer I would definitely have to put this hotpot place up there it was so good. Very great place and I will definitely be coming back.“

“As we walked in there was no hostess and all the bartenders saw us but turned the other way. We waited but it looked completely empty so we were a bit confused whether or not they were open. They could have said, "welcome, someone will be with you shortly".My friend had to walk up and ask if we find a spot or wait for someone. They said we need to wait for a hostess (not friendly at all). The hostess was nice and so was our waiter, THANKFULLY. I gave 4 stars for the lack of welcoming and because I felt like it was hard to pick something I thought would be good. Food was average, nothing too exciting from what we ordered.“

“The stars aligned. We were overjoyed to find a BOB vegan restaurant, inspired by grandcestor Dr. Sebi's alkaline nutritional guide. Highly recommend Beyond Vegan - Culver City. The food was flavorful. My friend ordered the namesake quesadillas, and I ordered the jackfruit tacos with mango salsa. Double the flavor - we shared our meals. Yum! The portions were large, filling, and pleased my soul. What I thought to be a side of mashed sweet potatoes was warm, smooth mashed beans. Tacos and quesadillas on point. Purple wild rice was a delightful surprise. Diversity in texture, flavor, colors, and quality ingredients. No better way to catch up with a friend than eating outdoors at Beyond Vegan!“

“This place is SO TASTY. We had the fresh coconuts, super cold and delicious; the breakfast plate , top tier; and the yellow curry, amazing; and the mango sticky rice, yum yum yum. Place is small and cozy, staff was very sweet. Will be back next time I’m in the area.“

“Quaint, friendly service, amazing French-style pastries, and delicious food. I’ve been here several times over the years. You order at the counter (where you can see all the delicious pastries!) and you are given a number to place on your table for your food to be brought to you. There really are so many choices (see the photos of the bakery case) but I neglected to take a photo of the drink menu. Today, I had the feta omelette and chocolate croissant. Gorgeous presentation and perfect taste and texture! Chaumont Vegan is a find! Don’t just go if you happen to be in the area; make it a destination. Some complain that it is not REALLY a vegan establishment because it is attached to its non-vegan counterpart. To me, this is a plus. The original non-vegan place used to offer some vegan options. But it seems demand was so great, they expanded to offer a fully vegan space with many more options! (I think this happened in 2021.). So, rather than put them down, I choose to celebrate them. Thank you Chaumont for first offering some vegan choices and then bringing us even more with a dedicated space next door. Updated from previous review on 2025-11-23“

“Such a beautiful and amazing place! the food was superb and the service was top-notch. The only downside is that it gets crowded and even though we had a reservation we had to wait for 15 minutes. Overall, I recommend visiting at least once!“

“The quality of the sushi was excellent. Every item me and my sibling ordered was on point, everything. The lobster rolls and volcano rolls were delicious. Additionally ordered cucumber salad which simply was an added benefits to clean the palate after every bite. Overall an excellent late lunch with quality food! “I came across Playa Provisions when in town for business. It was a short Uber from the airport, so I figured I'd give it a try. This place is an absolute gem! It is a unique setup that has everything you'd possibly need from morning until late at night: Cafe in the front for coffee and fresh baked good, as well as full breakfast menu. Later in the heat of the afternoon, take a break from the beach (right across the street) and enjoy hand scooped specialty ice cream cones and shakes. Oh look, it's dinner time... and Playa Provisions opens their dining room and bar, some of the best, most relaxed ambience you'll find for miles around. But don't let the casual setting fool you, this is some incredible, elevated cuisine. Chef owners Nick and Brooke (who you might recognize) crafted a menu that's I've been eating my way through, and have yet to find a dish that's not delicious. You've been eating and drinking all day, and are exhausted? Don't leave yet! Wander into the back 'secret' whiskey bar, (Grain Whiskey Bar) and enjoy hand crafted cocktails from award winning bartenders (no, literally), in a gorgeous wood laden atmosphere. I consider myself a foodie, and try as many different restaurants and cuisines as I can. And yet, Playa Provisions remains my favorite restaurant in LA (and that's saying something, considering the amazing places in LA). Run, don't walk, to Playa Provisions. You'll thank me.“

Highly recommend the Hamachi/yellowtail toro (so underrated), the scallops, and the squid/ika, but honestly any of the options won’t disappoint. Also a big fan of their tamago and their Takuan roll (which has fresh perilla leaves inside)!

We were able to sneak in a quick breakfast before our whale tour at the Little Italy location, and thank goodness we did! My only regret is not visiting every single day for their exceptional breakfast and high-quality juices! I ordered the All I Avo Wanted - Blue corn, waffle, smashed avocado, feta, shaved radish, over easy egg, chili flakes, hemp seeds, salsa macha. I mean, holy moly. The delivery was beautifully executed and built perfectly. The blue corn waffle was moist yet firm. My mother ordered the Shakshuka - another favorite dish of mine that WOWed. You can not go wrong with Parakeet. Thank you to the divine chefs and baristas - you made Parakeet the most beloved restaurant during our time in California!!!“

“My brother and I had the most amazing night of superb jazz and food this past Sunday, entertained by Betty Bryant and ensemble. Her fingers moved like liquid gold on the keyboard and her compositions were witty and mesmerizing. The word that kept coming to mind as they performed was "subtle." The music was powerful, but so discrete as to be gentle and gentile. Woodwinds, Bass, and Drums - all played with the kind of delight that makes everyone love the performers as well as the music. As for food, one dish stood out particularly: the creamed spinach with blue cheese. Please tell Chef I would love that recipe! I'm back home in Tennessee now and plan to attempt to copy it, but having the authentic recipe to serve to friends when we entertain would be over the top! Can't wait to visit my brother in LA again and return to Herb Alpert's Vibrato Grill, Jazz, Etc. Just wow! And Thank You!“

“The food is both eclectic and delicious. The location is both artsy and industrial with warm and inviting staff. I highly recommend this place for a date, business, family, or anything because it’s fabulous.“

“Shojin is incredible! The space is really beautiful, with very intimate 2-seater tables in the back room perfect for a date night or special night out. Service was amazing, complete with hand towels before the first appetizer and great descriptions/explanations of every dish as they’re being brought out. The food is thoughtful and everything is vegan and gluten free and made in house. They also don’t use normal sugar.

We tried the shojin green gyoza, lion’s mane karaage, Shoj-in-n-out hand roll, purple treasure 5.0, and the harvest curry ramen. Everything was delicious. The ramen was a great portion size. We got share plates and split it. The hand roll was a cool experience because it comes unrolled and you roll it yourself. The purple treasure 5.0 is an eggplant roll and the eggplant pieces on top were intense, way bigger than I was expecting and so juicy. Also a lot of the rolls have “torched at the table” written next to them on the menu. When they bring them to the table they fire it right in front of you and it’s really cool to see.

We tried the dessert that comes with miso cookies, black sesame ice cream, and matcha chocolate truffles- this combo of flavors was excellent and surprising. I had never tried miso cookies before and they were so good.

For drinks we tried the golden hour mind, which is a functional zero proof cocktail, and the orange yuzunade, which was my favorite and is like an orange juice mixed with lemonade and yuzu. I don’t drink alcohol so it was exciting to see so many thoughtful non-alcoholic drinks on the menu.

It was a little pricey, but the food was amazing and the vibes were so nice and the service was fantastic, plus you can really tell the menu is crafted very intentionally. I’d say it is worth the price and then some. I’d love to come back and try an omakase sometime, and if I lived in the area I’d come around every season to try the seasonal items.“
