“From the moment I walked in, I knew this place was going to be special. The cozy ambiance set the mood, and the staff greeted me with genuine smiles.
I ordered the Asado siopao and beef wonton, and wow both were bursting with flavor. The siopao was fluffy with a delicious filling, and the beef wontons were rich, tender, and comforting. I was so excited to try them, I didn’t even stop to take a photo!
Great food, great service, great vibes. What more can you ask for?!“

“I first came to this place 6 years ago and remember it fondly. My options and time for food where limited at the time, and having this place felt so abundant and delicious. Honestly, it's still the same place. The food is pretty dang good, especially if you go for your favorites once you find them, and they're not trying to be gourmet or transcendent.. it's an AYCE buffet. You pay your chunk of money, around 28 bucks, and you eat as much as you want... Simple... I gravitate towards their sushi, chicken wings, fried shrimp, and surprisingly good barbecue ribs.. the pork buns have always been on par with a good quality home steamed version too. Some of the stuffed clams and creations often end up being favorites too, but that changes every visit. If you want buffet desserts following your savory meal, this is not the one, there's a few mid to bad cake squares and such. The quality and cleanliness is good, and Ive never felt off or uncomfortable even after eating too much.
The dining area and buffet is roomy and fairly crowded on a Saturday around 2:00p. Especially with lots of large families.
I think this place is worth your time and money if you are really hungry and craving some simple, good food from the cuisines they offer. I give it 5 stars because they're doing exactly what they're trying to do.. offer a big selection of decent foods and as much as you want of it.“

“Needed to edit my online order but couldn’t after placing it, so called the restaurant and luckily was able to get some quick, easy assistance from David! He was able to substitute the item for me without issue. When I arrived, he confirmed my whole order for me and visually showed me that everything was there. Portions and quality were great. My favorite was the Mongolian beef. Would definitely come back, especially for a good lunch special!“

“Fantastic food at an extremely reasonable price. You can easily get full for 20$. We had a huge spread of dumplings, our favorite was the spicy pork dunpling and the pork and leek pancakes. Everything was delicious and seemed hand made. Service is very casual. “My first time coming to Ping Pong and I really enjoyed my experience! The place is nestled in a busy shopping mall but inside it was very clean and well decorated. The food was great! Plenty of options with the option to share everything with the spin glass in the center! We definitely got our money's worth today! Lastly, the service was very polite and friendly!“

“We walked up and weren't sure if the place was open, but luckily some other patrons walked up at the same time so we followed them in. So glad we did! This is one of those Chinese places that opened when Adam was a lad and hasn't changed its approach since. The carpet looked original (and therefore quite worn, but that is literally the only thing I would change if I bought the place. I'd pay the chef whatever they wanted to stay, keep the service staff, keep the decor, and above all else, keep the menu. Traditional Chinese-American restaurant menu (quite long but mostly just variations on the same dozen recipes, swapping out proteins), but extremely well executed. We are new residents of the Valley and we will be regulars here.“

“Great chinese restaurant, the noodles are very fresh and the meat tasty. The beef roll appetizer is a good size. Everyone liked the soup as well. My only wish would be a way to make the dish spicy without chili oil as it makes the dish even more oily.“

“Nu Great Wok is one of those spots you’re really glad you found.
From the moment you walk in, it’s clean, quick, and friendly — the kind of neighborhood Chinese restaurant that actually cares if you enjoy your meal. The staff is always welcoming and the food comes out hot and fresh.
What really stands out is the lunch menu. They have a great selection — all the favorites like General Tso’s, orange chicken, beef with broccoli, sesame chicken, vegetable dishes, fried rice/lo mein options — and it’s all at very reasonable prices. You get a solid portion, not a skimpy one, so it’s perfect for a workday lunch or a quick bite without spending a lot.
Food quality is consistently good: sauces are flavorful, veggies are crisp, and the meat actually tastes fresh, not overcooked. Plus, they’re pretty fast, so you’re not waiting forever.
Overall, Nu Great Wok is exactly what a good local Chinese place should be: tasty food, plenty of choice, fair prices, and friendly service. Highly recommend, especially for lunch. 🥡✨“

“I was a bit skeptical at thinking it is another restaurant serving s*ty soy sauce drenched noodles, but it was such a pleasant revelation how good the dishes were.
The Super Wok Special Beef is the one to order! It is incredibly tender, slight sweetness to it and buttery. It it served on top of a bed of sliced oranges. It is guaranteed to make you keep coming back for more. The dish is $19+ and serving is generous.
I went back another day to try out the lunch special. This time it was the crispy salt pepper shrimp selected. For $13.75, it came with a soup of the day, rice and the entree. Serving was very generous, maybe even 2 people can share one. It was excellent!
I regret ordering the prawn crispy noodles. Tasted terrible and too salty. Kind of like an overdone soy sauce noodles.“

“Saw this place on IG a while ago, but subconsciously just scrolled through the post not remembering the name. I just happened to stumble upon it while getting my car serviced, and realized it was the place when I saw they were serving people fat portions of food.
Hyped I found the place. Great price, portions. Can easily feed 2-3 people. Quality is what you would get from a fast food Chinese place which is also great.“

“The food is fantastic. Everything was fresh and tasted fantastic. Better than any other Chinese restaurant I've tried in LA. Also, their egg rolls are TRUE egg rolls like you find back on the East Coast, not the whimpy pinky-sized spring rolls. I ordered takeout, and the staff I interacted with both over the phone and in person were friendly and accommodating. Will be a repeat customer.“

“Five years ago, on a rainy afternoon in Los Angeles - the kind that sneaks into your shoes and makes umbrellas feel hilariously inadequate - my partner and I had just finished errands at a local bank in Studio City. The streets gleamed under a stubborn drizzle, and, hungry and thoroughly soaked, we went searching for shelter. We slipped into the nearby Green Apple China Bistro, like two weary ships at last finding safe harbor in a gentle sea of rain.\n\nWarmth wrapped around us instantly - the fragrant swirl of ginger, garlic, and sizzling woks felt like a hug from the universe. We plopped into a booth by the window, watching raindrops perform races down the glass as the city blurred into watery streaks.\n\nSoon, a parade of treasures arrived. New York‑style egg rolls - crisp and steaming, their golden shells crackling softly as we picked them up, stuffed with a savory mix of cabbage, celery, pork, and shrimp. Each bite released a warm, fragrant hug of flavors, perfectly balanced with a playful drizzle of sweet-and-sour plum sauce that danced across the tongue like a tiny celebration.\n\nTwo‑Flavor Shrimp - plump, succulent shrimp artfully arranged on a divided plate, dressed in two contrasting sauces: one savory with gentle warmth, the other bright, sweet, and tangy. Though distinct, the sauces came together to form a harmonious whole, balancing and elevating each bite. Caramelized walnuts added a delicate, nutty crunch, completing a sophisticated interplay of textures and flavors. Bold yet refined, this dish transformed every forkful into a memorable culinary journey.\n\nThe Pineapple Curry Fried Rice - tender chicken and succulent shrimp intertwined with crisp peas, sweet carrots, scallions, and delicate white onions, all embraced by fragrant, golden fried rice. Juicy pineapple added a luminous, tropical sweetness, while toasted cashews lent a subtle, nutty crunch. Infused with a gentle, aromatic curry spice, each bite unfolded layers of savory warmth and textural harmony - a refined, vibrant reinterpretation of a classic fried rice..., adding a cheerful tropical wink to the otherwise gray day.\n\nEach bite was a tiny rebellion against the rain, a delicious incantation that chased away the chill. The hum of conversation, the clatter of dishes, and the attentive staff made the dreary afternoon feel like an unexpected adventure in a hidden, enchanted corner of the city.\n\nWhen we stepped back into the drizzle, we carried more than satisfied appetites - we carried a pocket of warmth, laughter, and a whisper of magic that danced in the air well beyond the last drop of rain.\n\nNowadays, even five years later, we return to the Green Apple China Bistro with eager anticipation. Since I have no favorites and treasure the thrill of discovery, I select different dishes each time, delighting in the unexpected. Every plate, vibrant in flavor, texture, and aroma, holds a small surprise, turning each meal into an exquisite, ever-changing culinary journey. Each visit leaves a lingering impression long after the last taste - a tiny spark of enchantment waiting to be discovered anew.\n\nMaria E.\nCertified Sommelier & Cordon Bleu Chef | International Food Expert\nPresident of a Gourmet Food Company\n‘Bringing exceptional flavors to life’“

“This is my go-to spot for food after a trip. The last thing you want to do when you come home from traveling is cook and this restaurant always hits the spot! Lots of vegetables, large portions, fresh hot green tea and soup with each meal when you eat in. They have lunch and dinner combos, but honestly everything on their menu is awesome. My favorites include orange chicken, szechwan sliced bbq pork, mongolian beef, honey walnut shrimp and the dish I order every single time I go: buddha’s delight. It’s packed with various vegetables in a slightly sweet sauce that delivers the nutrients your body is craving.
They offer take out, but I suggest dining in to get the full experience. The walls are decorated with a mix of artwork and images of their food while a pop station plays in the background. You’ll sometimes find the kids doing homework at one of the tables during the week. They’re sustainability friendly too, so if you’d like them to package something up in your own container, they’re happy to do so. So grateful to have a traditional chinese restaurant that’s run by a family like this in the area.“

“Not only do you get great fresh Chinese food, at very reasonable prices, but the service of the restaurant is top notch. Mary and Peter are the servers and they make sure that every customer is well taken care of. With how many people eat there you know the food is fresh and delicious. The portions are big, They have delicious healthy options as well. Check out their lunch specials. We eat at Rice Wok about 4 times a month, and Peter and Mary offer the hospitality and service that will spoil you.“

“Such an amazing hole-in-the-wall! It is what you expect for 'Express' Chinese-American food. The food is solid and the portions are, of course, enormous! This may not be your TOP Chinese spot, but if you're in the area and want to feel extra full, this is the spot to go. Definitely worth it if you live around here!“

“Food is really good and fast service. All the service staffs are courteous and proactive. They'll even pack the left overs for you to go. Sodas are all canned (no fountain). The place is kind of old but they still manage to keep it clean and neat. You need to sign to queue (dont wait for someone to reserve your table). Overall this is our go-to for Chinese food cravings.“

“We ordered catering for a large birthday party (around 16 people) and were very happy with not only the food, but our whole experience. We called during lunch hour 2 days before and Mary took our number to call us back. She took our order and was willing to accommodate the large party/order, even though it wasn't listed specifically on their menu. When my husband arrived to pick up the order, everything was ready on time, fresh, and hot! He mentioned that upon picking up the order he met a nice and thankful staff. Our guests were very happy with the food and we had tons of leftovers for our guests to enjoy even after the party. Definitely recommend and sending a big THANK YOU!!“

“09/20/2025
I was here often around the end of 2019.
I remember they used to have good chicken wings. I haven't been here since then untill today, and I won't be here maybe for years atleast since I eat almost everywhere.
By the way... if you're on a budget, this place is a good place to eat. Their portion is generous and the foods are good. The Chinese lady who take your orders, scoop the foods, and charge you on the register has been very nice everytime I visit this place, doesn't matter how long she hasn't seen me, she's always kind.“

“Great food, prices are incredibly affordable, and they have plenty of parking on site. The employees are always friendly and quick to assist so they keep the line moving. Best thing so far about this spot though? They have Char Siu, it's one of my favorite dishes and I've been struggling to find it here. “Don’t listen to the bad reviews they just don’t understand this place. It’s a 100/10 local gem. I moved to the valley in 2017 and was totally broke. Pre covid this was a sit down place but still cash only 1 man shop. And when i say 1 man, i mean one guy. He’s got articles up in the wall dating back decades written about his shop. Hes a NoHo institution and this is going the be the freshest Chinese food you ever had. And the prices?! Last I checked a lunch special was <20 and this is a standard Togo box PACKED. Sure does he sometimes tell you he’s changing your order, yeah. Are sometimes the hours adjusted randomly, yeah. But that’s going to be based off what he’s got left. He’s taking your order, cooking it fresh, and chatting with you. Trust me. Just eat what he gives you. If you’re looking to be attended to, and have a nice long sit down dinner with ambience, this place ain’t for you. If you want to meet the man himself, have fresh affordable delicious Chinese, be called “young man” even tho you’ve been a patron for almost a decade, this is your spot. Be sure to tip the guy and respect your elders. I guess it’s take out only now, but cmon, the guys business made it through Covid and is still showing up.“
