“The enfant terrible of the Congregation family, you won't find live music, stand-up, or other room-filling gimmicks at this location. Instead, you'll find impecable service, quality food, and craft drafts at reasonable prices.
Startlingly, you'll also find it's almost empty on a Friday night. Its proximity to horrible Colorado Blvd dive bars with DTLA rooftop bar prices should make this place a gem, but folks haven't made the trek across Central Park to discover it despite it being so rewarding to do so. No better nightcap destination with the homies in Old Town.“

“The York is a no frills bar with good variety of drinks but my favorite was the Mother Earth Cali Creamin. Tastes like a creamsicle!
The women wanted to try the Apple Pie cider but was sold out, settled for Apple cider in a can, and at 8% it didn't disappoint. Would come again to chill and hang out and try something new.
We sis miss out on a live band but the music was decent. ?“
“Good enough for Richard Pryor, good enough for me!“
“The people, the service, and the whole experience has definitely changed my thoughts on what a "night at the bar" truly is! That being said the only warning I have is that you might have too much fun and trade whatever fine drinking establishment you currently attend, for this precious little jewel; hiding in Montrose. There is something for everybody. They are doing something right at Gilligan's. It truly checks all the boxes. Sports✓Pool✓Darts✓Karaoke✓ I Love this place and will continue coming back for the foreseeable future and I am making the trip from the West End of the Valley....Uber Loves my new found obsession with this bar that makes you feel like you're on the cast of Cheers or Coach or dare I say; Happy Days!(but not tacky or outdated) just this familar feeling of being apart of a family! Need I say more? Whether it's your birthday, that new promotion, or you just want to celebrate waking up another day; this is the spot to go! See ya there....I mean here!! Lmao“

“This is my local pub and you can never go wrong with the burgers, calamari and popcorn chicken. Their staff are the best there. Never a dull moment unless you're the dull one. I have seen it go through 3 different managements. They focus on quality.“

“Great spot ,
Inside and outside seating.
We got the burger, fried chicken, and pot roast. Overall, food could have been better,
The quality was good, but it was lacking flavor.
Garlic fries was the best, the chips was also delicious.
Put roast could have used salt and some spices.
Total was 85$. 3 dish 2 soft drink and a beer.
About 30$ a person , normal for today prices I guess.
Parking: There is always parking around .“

“Some unique flavors and some familiar. Customer service at the bar is unparalleled, like the all-day happy hour pricing. I’m very happy when I come to this place, regardless of what I order.“

“This is our local pub; we don't order wine (of which they have a nice selection), but they have a few European beers on tap that are quite good (including Guinness). They also have bottled beer if you prefer. This is a family owned pub (also "1881" on Washington/ Allen in East Pasadena), & you can usually catch owners Gail (sorry if I misspelled!) & Judah "Ben Hur." Actually he looks more like Mick Fleetwood and you can sit at the bar and have a chat with him if you want. I just like to say"Judah Ben-Hur" from the movie BEN HUR (1960?). Great service & vibe. Not fancy, just a great neighborhood pub to have a beer or two (I recommend several, if you have a designated driver). There is actually 3 areas you can drink- at the bar, a room for a few parties, and a secluded outdoor area for smokers in the back. It's quite cool & we feel at home there. If you live in Altadena/Pasadena on the west side (on Fair Oaks North of Woodbury) this is the bar for you. They also have pizza which is quite good. Judah is English, Gail from Chicago, and they have family that help out. It's a great little ace! Check it out! I'll be there tonight- look for the good looking older gent with the Roy Orbison glasses. He can be quite entertaining!“

“My favorite dinner spot in Sierra Madre. Excellent pub grub, and by far the best beer selection in town. Excellent service both inside and on the large outdoor patio. It's a great place to catch a game in a relaxed atmosphere or to enjoy one of their many beer festivals. The kitchen also stays open longer than any of their neighbors, so they're the best place in town if you want to eat a bit later.
Vegetarian options: They have a good range of vegetarian dishes, including appetizers and main dishes.
Parking: There's no dedicated lot just for the restaurant, so you may need to walk a block or two from one of the big city lots.
Kid-friendliness: They're as family friendly as you can get from a place best known for its beer selection.“

“First time and last. My wife didn’t like the burger. Tried for a resolution. Manager treated her like crap. We left right then. Total crap-show food-wise.“
“Hole in the wall bar with central american Latino ethnic flare! 21+Its community is friendly but definitely bites back, so just be wary of the drinks you can hold and do not act disorderly. It has a very small dance floor where people dance. There's table service or you can go straight to the bar.I'd suggest just enjoying a few beers and heading on home, as it can get a bit hectic after 12, but if you like a hot crowded room stick around. It's a very mom and pop bar and age ranges are definitely millennials and up+.(25+ Lol)In the weekends you have the choice to have a nice LA street dog right outside the bar and support la senora street vendors.Aside from that just enjoy yourselves when visiting, it's a party in there always!!???“

“Nice little neighborhood spot for drinks and pub food. Based on my few trips, it seems like there are some new staff members and that is an improvement.....will make it easy to come back regularly, plus the fish and chips was a pleasant surprise, top notch.“

“I don’t usually like to complain but I have to comment on how disappointing the sundae was. It’s $13 and says on the menu “enough to share!” What we got was two scoops of ice cream, a dollop of whipped cream and hot fudge. When the server put it down, I thought it was a mistake. Definitely not worth $13 or enough to share.
They also ran out of the shrimp and grits after we had ordered, and didn’t tell us until everyone else had their food already.
Otherwise, the atmosphere was great. And the rest of the food was pretty good. They did also bring us a second dessert to make up for the missing shrimp and grits.
So, hopefully this was just an off night.“

“Hands Down the best environment for a good 'ol Pre-Rose Bowl Game festivities. Got there around 9-30ish, the environment was starting to take on a Scarlet Red haze. Staff was perfect, rarely waited in line, great customer-drink recognition, The Blind Donkey had great food, service, environment, location - $65 bill w/a $35 tip & very much worth it - perfect way to lead into a winning day - Buckeyes!!!!“
