17 Best Wineries in Placerville

Lava Cap Winery Winery •
2221 Fruitridge Rd, Placerville

“Full disclosure, we're members here!

It's one of our favorite wineries to visit. We make yearly visits to the Placerville area, and there is never a time we do not stop at Lava Cap.

The views are spectacular & the wines are excellent. The staff are excellent and well-versed in wines & anything about the winery itself. Our host, Jeff, was a lot of fun to talk to and was very informative with paired foods for the multiple wine tastes that we sipped.
We ended up spending two and a half hours there on the deck and on the lower level picnic tables“

Boeger Winery Wineries • $$

“This winery is one of the best! We visited for a wine tasting and the gentleman was so informative about the wines and how they are harvested, we couldn’t get enough of his knowledge! The wines, all six, that we selected on our own were excellent! We will probably join the club when we get home! Also, there is a picnic area that you can purchase a charcuterie board or cheese and crackers, spreads and dips to sit down and enjoy with your bottle of wine! It’s fantastic!“

“Came all the way from Las Vegas for the Nevada Days at Apple Hill. My daughter's first wine tasting. Anna was a treat! So patient and informative and brought different wines for my daughter and grandmother, who liked sweet, versus me since I prefer dry reds. A gorgeous setting and delightful wines.“

Jordan and her team of coordinators were very helpful and communicative during the whole planning process and pulled off all our decor and last minute items super well! All staff is very friendly and approachable. The environment is casual , but classy and the surroundings are unmatched for unbelievable photos! Our guests all said it was one, if not the best wedding they've attended. The lake house is an added bonus as well and we plan to return to stay in their super comfy beds!“

Pulled Pork Tacos

“It's amazing how this small kitchen manages to make such delicious meals! My girlfriend and I had the Beef Brisket and the Pulled Pork Tacos with a side of Pingo and absolutely enjoyed our time here!

The beef was my favorite! It was so tender and flavorful and went well with the crispy onions.

The outdoor seating is also just so cute! A perfect first stop in apple hill ?“

Gold Hill Vineyard and Brewery Pubs • $$
5660 Vineyard Ln, Placerville

“Honesty, Gold Hill Winery probably not the best one among the area, but it won’t be a bad one, cause there are many different types of the wine for tasting. Also, the owner, which is an old lady seems like a fun person, she waived my tasting fee since I went there on a Thursday. If one thing I not feel quite good, that might be the deposited ashes of the grape left in the glass. To leave the customer a better tasting experience, they could add a cap with filter on the top of the bottle of the wines, so those ashes of the grapes will not fall into the glass with the fluid.“
