“I came across Playa Provisions when in town for business. It was a short Uber from the airport, so I figured I'd give it a try. This place is an absolute gem! It is a unique setup that has everything you'd possibly need from morning until late at night: Cafe in the front for coffee and fresh baked good, as well as full breakfast menu. Later in the heat of the afternoon, take a break from the beach (right across the street) and enjoy hand scooped specialty ice cream cones and shakes. Oh look, it's dinner time... and Playa Provisions opens their dining room and bar, some of the best, most relaxed ambience you'll find for miles around. But don't let the casual setting fool you, this is some incredible, elevated cuisine. Chef owners Nick and Brooke (who you might recognize) crafted a menu that's I've been eating my way through, and have yet to find a dish that's not delicious. You've been eating and drinking all day, and are exhausted? Don't leave yet! Wander into the back 'secret' whiskey bar, (Grain Whiskey Bar) and enjoy hand crafted cocktails from award winning bartenders (no, literally), in a gorgeous wood laden atmosphere. I consider myself a foodie, and try as many different restaurants and cuisines as I can. And yet, Playa Provisions remains my favorite restaurant in LA (and that's saying something, considering the amazing places in LA). Run, don't walk, to Playa Provisions. You'll thank me.“

“It’s not ice cream but I couldn’t tell. They serve a frozen nondairy Indonesian style desert that is creamy and satisfying. The flavors we had were filled with chunks of real delicious marzipan and the other had small chunks of delicious chocolate. Highly recommend this (literally) hole in the wall “ice cream”

“A cool dessert spot in Sawtelle. It seems it can become very crowded, I was a bit surprised by the long line.

I had not been here in a very long time.

It seemed pretty similar to before. I like this spot, it’s nice place to get a taiyaki with a bit more sweet.

There is no seating inside. Wait time can be long when the line is long. And, parking can be tricky.
But besides that it’s a nice place to try for something different than your regular ice cream place.“

The bathroom was also pretty spacious and had a table right next to the toilet in case you wanted to do some work in there I guess idk. There's not another chair though so don't plan on holding any meetings in there. However there's pretty good seating outside if you want to do that.“

“Technically Beverly Hills is across the street, lol. It doesn't matter because the food is incredible. The meat ravioli is the best anywhere. They also offer a meatball the size of your fist.

Not sure if it's still the case, but they only accepted cash whenever I've eaten there. The place is a bit cramped and they always seem to be quite busy.“

I had no idea it was vegan until I saw the reviews on here! I recommend pairing the Calamansi with the Matcha—it tastes like a matcha lemonade. Other than that, the ice cream was absolutely amazing.

Only street parking in Larchmont, so I wish you all the best.

SERVICE
A long line formed right after we arrived, but we noticed it was moving efficiently while we enjoyed our ice cream.

“FroFru is amazing! It’s our go-to place for dessert since it’s gluten free and dairy free and no added sugar! In fact, the taste is so good you have to remind yourself that it’s just made with fruit! Such a healthy but delicious alternative to ice cream or even frozen yogurt, our whole family loves it. Plus, the staff is always friendly — the whole place gives off such positive vibes! Five stars, highly recommended.

Today was our first time and we had the Mexican Hot Chocolate (smooth and delicious!), Strawberry Pie (more fruity and delicious) and Mint Oreo (Lots of Oreos and delicious). “Delicious ice cream. The servings are large - a small scoop feels like 2 scoops. They have a cute outdoor area to sit but the interior is odd. Blaring bright lights in a commercial kitchen environment. Employees are dishing out ice cream in an assembly line fashion. It’s actually a very large shop set up to handle a large volume. Salty caramel truffle is my fave.“
