“Excellent Bay Area specialty coffee with vegan food menu and enjoyable for anyone! The coffee menu had a handful of creative and tasteful signature drinks along with the classics. While in line I heard someone ask if the drinks were sweet and they kindly said “not St4rbux sweet” which is a green flag for sure to anyone who really knows coffee. They also offered that customer to make their drink less sweet if they were worried. I had my go-to iced americano to see how good their espresso shots taste since I was sure they were doing something right with so many other good reviews and my experience up to that point. The good vibes were there before I even ordered and that coffee hit too! The Avocado toast is on the fluffiest freshest bread with some sprinkled hemp seeds and chili flakes. I also opted for some chili oil and loved it! Super friendly service and a wait time that was indicative of the care they put into each order without having to wait too long! I wish I lived around here cause it seems like THE local community coffee spot I would be frequenting.“

“Love it, incredible quality food and a good value considering how filling it is. The vibe in this location is nice, love the plants and big open space with lots of seating. Definitely order ahead for pickup because Rooted has you order at the counter anyways and then it can be a long line and a long wait. Ordering ahead solves that and it's literally my only complaint about an otherwise really great place. Updated from previous review on 2024-04-03“

“What a hidden gem we have found in Walnut Creek. This quaint coffee shop cranks out brilliant lattes and pastries and is now the perfect lazy Sunday hang out spot for us. Our pup loved watching all the people & their dogs walk by. The place looks like a tiny castle and they have implemented a great system to order and pick up at different spots so that it doesn't get too crowded in one place. Parking is also easy as it's right across from parking lot which is free for 90 mins.“

“Been going there since it was a small space and not very known as im a local and as its been growing and expanding over the years gone by just from growth in the place and customers just even shows how good it is to bring family or friends for breakfast etc. lots of people go after church and I will say on Sundays it's for sure busy but hey you gotta beat the time before everyone gets out lol but its a really good spot and its well hidden but very popular now. The twin brothers that own it are very nice and lovely. As time goes on you'll see there hard workers and they've come a long way for sure! Just wanted to say all that because from a local I wanna support especially good businesses!“

The peanut sauce was just as they describe it on their menu . . . I'll butcher it but something like, "really good peanut sauce." And indeed it was. It was light and punchy and I hope that's how it is all the time. Also, it was great service. She helped me decide between a Turkey Pesto Panini and the wrap. I appreciate that in the age of poor service/post-covid era.“

“Visited December 24, 2023This coffee shop has a unique interior and is visited by many people. After lunch, I wanted to have coffee for dessert, so I looked for it in downtown Walnut Creek. It's so popular that you have to wait in line to order. There are about 2 employees making coffee, so you may have to wait a bit. It was a shame that we couldn't enjoy the inside because the tables were full. I ordered a latte, and it had swan art on it, so it was fun to see and the latte was delicious.“

Traballo’s Backyard BBQ Barbeque • $$
3001 Bayshore Rd, Benicia - 8.75 miles

“This place is hidden in the cuts but worth the drive for some good barbecue. From the freeway exit N/B 680 it's only one turn right turn a maybe a 2 minute drive. From S/B 680 it may be 5 minutes more if that. It's kind of hidden but there is a big sign you can't miss if you're looking. They have a small parking lot and take orders through the screen door. There is outside seating and tables if you choose to eat there. I placed my order after looking over the menu outside and my food was ready really quick. The 2 way combo was $25 which was understandable and reasonable for the portion sizes and inflation. My only gripe may be on what they consider potato salad which was more like a loaded baked potato. The flavor of the chicken and ribs were delicious. The ribs were tender and neither were burned or over cooked. I also like that they put the barbecue sauce in containers for you to add to your food as you like. The Mac and cheese was pretty good too but could have used a bit more seasoning to it. Otherwise I like this place and the staff are very nice as well. Oh yeah, they didn't have the lumpia that day“

“I cannot express how much I love a dedicated gluten free facility. It makes it so easy for my celiac husband to find tasty treats and drinks. The desserts, particularly the cookies and cupcakes are so good you would never know the difference between non-gluten free items (I say this as someone who eats non gluten free items all the time). We love the desserts so much we ordered our wedding cake from here and it turned out beautifully! We could not recommend this place enough. It's a little pricey but that's to be expected with the pricer ingredients and in being in an expensive area.“

“So, I was cruisin' around Concord, craving a caffeine fix. I typed in "closest coffee to me" and bam, this spot popped up, nestled between Peet's and Starbucks. Figured, why not give it a shot? It's in an office building, but don't let that fool ya—it's super easy to find and there's tons of parking. Inside, there's this trio running the show: two lovely ladies and one dude hustlin' hard. They've got breakfast and lunch options, and let me tell ya, I grabbed a bacon, egg, and cheese bagel, and it hit the spot! Coffee? Decent enough for your regular joe. If you're around, swing by for sure!Parking: Parking is located directly next to the building.“

Today was one of those back-to-back meeting days, and I had to work through lunch, so I was very hungry. I needed a bite before meeting colleagues for drinks and appetizers later in the afternoon. I ordered the Asian Chicken Salad ($10). Service was friendly and prompt - I appreciate that they pulled out a fresh salad bag for me even though it was just minutes before they closed. I was swooned too because they had a breakfast burrito and I'm a sucker for those. It's nothing fancy, tortilla, egg, cheese and bacon. Sometimes that's all you really need. “For my money, the best Banh Mi in Walnut Creek! The sandwiches are large, filling, and tightly packed with vegetables and (if you're vegetarian, like me) tofu. They're just the right spice level, the bread is pleasantly crunchy and chewy, and - just as you'd hope - are served up with quickly. The place is definitely tucked away - if it weren't for the streetside sign, I would have walked past it - but the complex is full of places to sit and enjoy your meal. If you pay cash you can avoid their extra fee. Delicious baked goods and cupcakes. Their cinnamon sugar loaf is really yummy but bad for your waistline, as is all the stuff at the bakery, to be honest. Service is always nice and helpful.
