“3/13/13FRESH IS BESTLike clockwork, each morning a young girl (only a couple times has it been a guy) stops in our office with a rolling cooler of lunches. Each selection is $7. (Entrees recently went up $0.50). This is a really wonderful service for people who often work through their lunch and don't have time to bring one from home.One of the attorneys in our firm purchases a salad every day. Another attorney purchases entrees from time to time. I have tried a few of both. FFT has a variety of selections (March menu listed below) but I really like the salads best.Today's lunch is a Chinese chicken salad. The dressing is much too oily for me, but that's usually not the case. I feel like most of their dressings (while given far too much) are still healthy - often more vinegar based. It's very good though and everything in it tastes very fresh.From time to time the owner comes in our office and always seems very rushed but is overall pleasant. I always leave a tip with any purchase. I don't believe the employees are compensated all that well, especially with how hard they work, rain or shine. Plus, they are generally very friendly and always happy to pull out each item from their cooler and describe it for indecisive people with visual appetities. I'm sure I'm not the only one who requests this. Sometimes I don't even want lunch but I like seeing the options. “We decided to plan staff lunch to thank them their hard work this year. As we were looking we encountered with havanas catering, based the reviews we thought it was worth the shot.

Staff was super friendly, responsive and attentive when we called to confirm the order. Upon arrival they set up the food on time, and let me just say, the food WAS ABOVE AND BEYOND!

“Excellent local butcher shop and deli. BBQ sauce is also very good. The ball tip sandwich is the most popular sandwich on the menu. I would personally recommend the sweet potato fries because their sauce is delicious. The meat is always top notch. Kinders is very well known around here. The only downside I would say is that it is not cheap. It is hard to find a sandwich under $10 on the menu. Definitely worth trying if you are driving through!“

“Michelle Exceeded Expectations for Wife’s Birthday PartyMy wife is hard to impress for her birthday. She doesn’t like expensive gifts, but does food-centered events and adventures with our friends. I initially considered finding a cooking class somewhere and invite some of our friends but all the options seemed like a hassle and a bit impersonal. I then read about a chef that would take the class to your home and I thought – perfect.When I contacted Michelle she listened to my objectives and we determined that a cooking demonstration centered on paella would be perfect. In fact, she said that she will make the event an evening in Spain. The challenge was going to be making this a surprise, but Michelle coordinated with all of us, and my wife was totally caught off guard. That soon turned to delight to learn that she had an evening with her friends and learning about how to make paella ahead of her. Exactly what I had hoped for.Michelle served great appetizers, and then presented a special ham and gave a talk about the region in Spain it came from and why it was unique. The yard was decorated with a huge LOVE sculpture, and every detail of the evening was well thought out.Dinner was for 11, and she managed to do the demonstration while coordinating all the activities needed for the approaching meal. Our guests loved the demonstration and Michelle talked about every aspect of the process. I certainly learned a lot.Dinner was fabulous. We had a garden salad, much of it from her garden. Then to the centerpiece, the paella. Everyone agreed it was delicious to say the least. Michelle made each guest comfortable, and everyone got personal attention as she juggled activities in the kitchen.As the evening came to an end, my wife kept repeating how pleased she was, and how she loved sharing this special evening with some of our closest friends. I could not be more pleased. After thanking her for such a wonderful experience, we went to bed while Michelle cleaned up. When we woke up the next morning everything was in order with some tasty leftovers in our refrigerator to savor over the next few days. “I can't say enough about Basilico Italian Catering. They did the most amazing job at my wedding. Context: I used to cater society weddings in Washington DC (senators' kids, etc) and my catering captain who taught me everything was at my wedding. We were both very impressed with the professionalism, the food, the staff; Basilico nailed it from start to finish. Manny is passionate about food and it shows, the staff was so attentive and CARING - I can't think of another word. Very good tacos. You really get snack tacos size. Don't underestimate the size, you will get full. I believe 6 would be plenty enough. You will definitely need a soda or drink to wash it down. “Great deli / cafe attached to a catering business. Sandwiches are outstanding. Meat piled high and very fresh vegetables. Roll was soft and light, also.

The deli operation closes at 2:00 pm daily and is closed on weekends. But in-between that, you can get a great sandwich here .

They have housemade salads of all types, incl pasta etc. I didn't try them but will - they all looked great

And, it is one of the few places to sit down and eat around here that doesn't try to shake a tip out of you at the cash register before even trying the food.

“This place was the single redeeming thing in the area. I got stuck in this commercial cesspool for four and a half hours and wandered around for 3 of them trying to find decent food worth the price or some store that wasn't marked up for garbage. No dice. Finally found this place tucked away, so thankful. Had a couple drinks and chatted with old locals. Definitely support this place. In general I'll be avoiding the area but if I ever find myself there again I'll definitely go in for a drink and to get a brake from the depressing retail area outside.“

“Humphry Slocombe Ice Cream is amazing. We always saw the long lines at The Veranda and finally decided to try it, and now we get it. The flavors are wild in the best way. Anything with chocolate, peanut butter, or cake? Game-changer.

It might’ve been the sugar talking, but everything we tried was next-level. Prices are fair, portions are solid, and the taste speaks for itself. What really stood out was the customer service. Even as the line grew behind us, the person helping us stayed calm, friendly, and didn’t rush us, just good energy all around. It’s order and sit outside spot so definitely know what you want and plan where you’re sitting after or before.

If you’re anywhere near this place, don’t skip it. We’ll definitely be back.
