“This is a gem of a place. Excellent pizza, fantastic service, and the gelato - YUM!!! It's been around for decades, the founder Pauly is in there early every morning to make the dough and sauce. Authentic and oh so good. Mona is wonderful as well.

They have a sketchy competitor who chose a similar name - don't get fooled. Pauly's Pizza Joint is the only Pizza Joint to go to.

The cheese and sauce were doing the bare minimum. I could just be spoiled because there's too many other pizza places around. There's no bathroom to wash your hands before you eat but they do offer hand sanitizer. On the plus side they do offer draft beer which pairs nicely with your slices and the staff was very friendly. I would be willing to try this place again.“

As a young girl the GIANT NY pizzas wowed me with the slice being the size of my 11 year old forearm. Super great and always the go-to outting food when we had guests over. “If you like Chicago pizza this is the place for you in Encinitas. Their thin crust pizza is delicious no matter what toppings you put on it. You can get different thickness of dough up to thick crust. They use quality ingredients that are consistent. It is a neighborhood bar/pizza parlor. You will find regulars there which is fun. They have a wide variety of choices from pizza to great appetizers to dessert. The service is consistent and the restaurant is always clean. I've been going there since it opened. When I want pizza it's my go to place.“

Read on: If you've ever had a real margherita pizza with sweet slices of roma tomato and whole / torn basil leaves, this will leave you wanting.

If you don't like tomato and basil, don't order a margherita pizza... but if you DO like tomato and basil, this one will disappoint you.

Pacific Pizza: please rethink this approach...this is maybe not the pie to cut costs on given the relatively inexpensive ingredients.

The San Diego and Hawaiian are family faves...but my vegetarian child thinks your margherita pizza is lame...and I (as the payor) agree...so we will not likely be back until / unless this is improved.“

The food was great and the place was big enough where we didn’t feel trapped. Kaitlyn was the bar manager at the time and she made us feel welcomed and taken care of.
