“Yum. Sinfully good! I got Jim Bobs burrito and it has probably one of the best burritos I’ve had. The meat had a nice flavor. Everything was well proportioned so you got a taste of everything in every bite. The size was perfect. Totally filling but not ridiculously huge where you feel gross after. So good. “Hands down best tacos in the neighborhood. Chicken, carnitas and al pastor are our favorites. Lots of salsas and topping to choose from. Horchata is really good too. Authentic rice flavor and not overly sweet.

Shrimp taco was awful. Definitely not the same menu and recipe The new cantina is beautiful though. But a no go for me“

The al pastor was also awsome, but it was very different from what I normally think of as al pastor. I'm almost tempted to say that it wasn't really al pastor. It was delicious though. I highly recommend it. The chicken taco was very well cooked, and nice and juicy, but would have benefited from some more seasonings or a marinade or something. Still good though.“

You can see the Al Pastor when you pass by, but what you might not see is their giant pot of simmering meat filled with carnitas, asada and tripe.For $10 you can get a hearty burrito filled with your meat of choice + rice and beans. Their rice and beans are heavenly, full of flavor. I always get an extra side of rice to go.Tacos are 2-3 bites big and you can choose from lots of toppings to add yourself. They have a nice selection of roasted hot red salsa, it tasted smoked it’s so good. There’s a green tomatillo salsa that’s bomb. Their guacamole sauce is not thin and watery, it’s super creamy and flavorful.They’re getting more popular in the neighborhood! The other day they ran out by 10PM so don’t come at the end of the night expecting a full menu.I can get an asada quesadilla, 6 tacos and a plate of rice for $25 with all the extra toppings included.Remember to tip these guys, they work hard!!“

“Although Tacos Gavilan is a chain, I have to give them kudos with consistency. You can go to any of their 14 SoCal locations and expect to get the same great flavor, size and customer service. The al pastor burrito slaps and is super flavorful, pair it with a hint of lemon and salsa, goooodness! They are reasonably priced and offer taco Tuesdays! Inside is always clean and service fast! Give them a try if you ever pass by one! Pre-covid they offered an amazing salsa bar, where one can get cilantro, onions, pickled jalapeno and carrots, radish and salsas. This time around I visited the drive thru but a few months back the salsa bar still wasn’t open.“
