“A couple of the bands I'm in played here (Sakful and Chino's burning). The Pa system is awesome. The engineer (Paul Shortridge) is very knowledgeable and has the house tone dialed in for any band expressing their style on stage.I was so impressed by the place I started going to the open mic nights on Mondays. And to top it off, the food is freaking awesome! This place is a must if you like good original music, great good and a super friendly atmosphere.“
“I've heard about his place for a long time but more recently was the first time I went, I thought with "World Famous" in the name it better be good. There are different boneless chicken/chicken wing/sandwich options to choose from. The person at the counter was super helpful, I think I'm decent at spicy food so I ordered my chicken sandwich hot (there's like a scale of 7 categories and hot was the second hottest). The person at the counter suggested I try the medium since it was my first time there. Lucky for me he did, because I found the medium good but challenging. My friend had it mild, and mild still has some spice on their scale, if you wanted no spice there's a "training wheels category".I had a chicken sandwich medium and my corned and I split some loaded fries. The loaded fries with coleslaw, pickles and other sauce helped even a little bit of the spicyness.I'd try it again, maybe after some spicy training.“
“I got the 333 combo with three fried oysters, three fried shrimp, and three pieces of fried catfish. Everything was cooked PERFECTLY! Moist and tender meat with a crispy crust. Absolutely classic. The combo was a lot of food! It came with Louisiana style hot sauce, tartar sauce, and ketchup, as well as plenty of fries.Service was cheerful and very friendly. There isn't any seating, so it's really take-out only. The one minor criticism I have is that the fries were pretty mediocre, but they really aren't the main attraction here anyway.“
“That was so good that by the time I ate one piece when I walked across the bridge to the train station. I swear I wanted to turn around and get more even though I had a big box of chicken. I am sitting here fantasizing about eating more right now. Until we meet again Rosemary Chicken until we meet again!!!“
“Delicious Southern dinner. Wait wasn't too bad of a wait even for a table of 6. Hush puppies were a little too dry (needs some fresh corn kernels in my opinion). Fried chicken was delicious, as was the gumbo. The BBQ plate was a good portion size too.“
“Chef Lala of Jusla Eats was a joy to work with. She was professional, responsive, and runs an efficient operation. Her food was top notch - I ordered the honey garlic chicken, fried catfish, mac and cheese, greens, yams, banana pudding and peach cobbler for an extended family and friends meal. Everything was cooked to perfection, and seasoned just right. Everyone went back for seconds, and raved about the food. I started recommending her to my friends before I even left the reception!“
“Oh my the place resembles a true image of a "hole in the wall", but Oh!, don't let the location nor look fool you. The food is absolutely amazing! The chicken will have you thinking, "This reminds me of home!" The sides were delicious too and lastly, the counter staff were very polite and respectful. When I'm in the area, I'm most definitely going to return to, Gus' World Famous Fried Chicken!!!“
“My partner and I had an amazing experience here. The service was impeccable. The cashier was so patient and nice to us. He had a great smile and personality.Food was incredible. Flavor was well-balanced. Meat was juicy. It was fried to perfection. Maybe a little bit greasy, but way less greasy than other fried chicken places around Oakland/Emeryville.Portion size was huge. Definitely get the sweet tea too. They don't mess around with food or flavor.Parking: Parking can be hard to find if you come at peak hours ( lunch /dinner)“
“This is easily one of the best breakfasts I've ever had. Quality ingredients and extraordinary preparation.Of the limited amount that I've tasted I can say that the pork belly was among the best I've had, and the catfish and grits is of similar quality. The fried chicken is also excellent. I also tried the bignets which were absolutely incredible, even for someone who tends to dislike sweet appetisers. The service is not doting, but is friendly. If something is spilled they will expect you to clean it up, and everyone will be open to quick conversation when they have time.It is a bit pricey, expect to spend 20-30 dollars per person, but I feel that the expense is more than justified. Happy eating!“
“We were on a Breakfast Burrito binge. We were trying as many top-rated breakfast burritos as possible. We came across this place while waiting for another place. This place was better than the rest!!! Absolutely great!!! Go here as good, if not better, than all the other top-rated burrito places. They got our order wrong, but it's still AMAZING!!! I asked for toasted and Acado instead of guacamole. But they did not toast and put guacamole.“
“They catered a prayer breakfast at our church on 8/26/23. They arrived early to set up. Plenty of grits, bacon, pancakes, eggs, fruit, and beverages. We had plenty to take home afterward. Fairly priced. Friendly staff. Caterer willing to travel. I am looking forward to using them again for future events.“
“I lived in Austin for a long time, so I'm familiar with the style Stay Gold is aiming for. They do a good job! I wouldn't rate it top tier vs some of the places you have around Central Texas, but it's solid.Huge portion of really good brisket! I was actually surprised how much meat I got for the price. Very generous, especially by Bay Area standards! The only minus I would give them is: I'd prefer more onion. But that's a minor quibble. So the food is great. Also I give this place a top atmosphere rating. It's down to earth and unpretentious, a genuine dive.As a bonus, they host live music and--one of the best events in the Bay--Oakland Drunken Film Festival.Long live Stay Gold!“
“What a lovely breakfast spot! We went early on a Saturday and had a fantastic breakfast. The chicken in the chicken and waffles was SO FRESH. Don't forget to try the pie! We shared a slice of the raspberry key lime pie and it blew me away. Just a note that it's cash only. Lots of free street parking nearby.“
“Order before seating.5 crispy little tasty oysters. The dressing is mayonnaise, too simple for me. Bun is lightly toasted. All in all the po boy is tasty and I would go back. The fries were crispy on the outside and soft inside, in other words, perfect.Inside the place can seat about 30 people. There is outdoor seating.Staff is cheerful and helpful.Single spacious and clean bathroom.“
“We visited this restaurant in San Francisco and Santa Monica. We left very satisfied, the shrimp dishes were delicious, despite the large number of guests, the waiting time was short, the service was nice and helpful. I would like to go back there again.“
“I made sure I went twice before I reviewed this place so the first time I went it was happy hour time which was half off appetizers and some low priced drinks the peach a Rita was delicious ? Brussel sprouts were well seasoned and delicious !!! BEST GARLIC NOODLES IN THE BAY AREA ? I also got the fish and fries yummy!!jalapeño popper (which were below mediocre at best). Now to the main dish was the T Rex turkey leg with rasta pasta.... I really wanted to love this dish and don't get me wrong it was visually appealing and individually each component was well seasoned and boasted lots of flavor However with that said there can be to much of a good thing. Combined it was overwhelming the gigantic smoked turkey leg and huge portion of pasta there was much to take home I ended up cutting the meat off the smoked turkey leg and made greens with it the next day which were delicious!!!“
“This is the original place that has been at Richmond for 20 years. The building was sold so they have now moved to this sports bar. The food is still the same great flavor, just perfect in every way. There are a lot more indoor seating as well and you have more drinks option as it is in a bar.“
