“Benders is a classic, one of my favorites. It was a regular stop in the tour of dive bars on a Friday evening and always had an edge on the others because of its size and food offerings to appease both vegetarians and carnivores alike. Bartenders are solid here, quick and efficient and don't waste your time or theirs. If you are a dive bar connoisseur, then Benders is a must try.

“Funny I have been living for some time in SF and never stepped inside the Last Call. Luckily I didn't wait until the last call to give this place a try. I love the fact that it's low key, no drama. Great selection of top shelf spirits and many brands which you typically don't get to see in other bars. In addition, very knowledgeable bartenders who know and love their craft. Four thumbs up, oops I see double, two thumbs up.“

“My new favorite dive bar in the city. A great blues band was playing the night we went and the atmosphere was fun and full of happiness. Excellent and creative cocktails (the Bee's Knees and the ginger cocktail are very much recommended). Service was exceptional, we'll be definitely coming back! Love this place, A+++
Parking: best to get here via ride share because parking is extremely difficult to find.“

“Great spot for locals or if you wanted to stop somewhere close enough to BART if there are delays or you want an easy escape to it. Limited drink selections and staff, but it's the kind of spot that reminds you that you don't really need all that. I had wanted to stop in for a long time before finally making my way in and glad I did.“

“I went on a weekend during an event, it was pretty packed. The service was faster in the front than the other bar (they have two). They do have food. More rave vibes I would say. The drag show was alright but it all depends on when you go and who you with. I recommend going with a group of friends because people are pretty clicky.“

“Not sure if Dan is still the owner but he is a huge Steelers fan- he has a “Terry Bradshaw Sings” LP on display at the bar. This place used to named Pittsburgh’s but after a bit of Covid-era trouble, a name change/reboot was warranted. As far as I can tell it’s still the same nice neighborhood vibe.“

“Can’t believe this place is still open!Just stopped by cause the outside light was on. Got 2 Anchor Steam beers on draft. Bartender remembers me after all these years. Beers are only $6 each!Great spot as a low key, neighborhood bar.Stop by for a chill time!“

“Super cute rooftop. Pizza one is one of the best pizza I've ever ate. The rooftop smash cocktail is now my favorite drink. I took a picture of the ingredients and made it at home †that's how good it was. Definitely coming back. The customer service was outstanding. I will for sure come back with all my girls so we can day drink haha“
“The Ave is an excellent bar. I love the vibe. Eight of us came here after our CCSF night class semester ended. One of the pupils paid for my first round of drinks. When I heard the bartender talk about Native American tacos $5 each, I knew I had to try it. They were delicious. It was a fried bread type of taco. They came in two versions, a vegetarian version and a beef version. The chef also let me take photos. It was cool to be able to talk to the chef.“

“Great place to hang out with beer to shoot the breeze with your friends. They didn't have any food at the time, so we asked if it was okay to bring some. Came back with food from nearby and had a fun time chatting at a table with friends and playing pinball. The blueberry was yummy! Crowd definitely skews to the younger side (20s and 30s) but we didn't feel out of place.“

Parking: Street parking is available but can be tough in the afternoons.“

“Awesome dive bar in the Mission. Came here with a bunch of people after a work party nearby and it really kept the party mood going, in fact it dialed it to 11. Great music, friendly locals, good selection of drinks, TVs for the sports minded, a pool table, and yes peep-a-boo mens room - after a few drinks you won't worry about someone outside getting a glimpse of your junk when the door is open.“

“Great vibe, great drink. Personally had the bee’s knees. A little heavy on the lavender flavor but I do love lavender so it wasn’t too bad. Gin selection was solid as well and didn’t have a pine tree shoved down your throat flavor to it. Drink was a great 9.2/10“

“Regarding the previous review, these gentlemen were cussing the bartender out over the music because she wouldn’t add extra liquor to their drink. The bartender asked security to remove them and they were extremely upset because they didn’t finish their drinks. There was zero racist remarks. She didn’t react besides laughing and grabbing security. They complained about the drink prices and she even showed them an itemized receipt. Crazy to write such a dramatic review when at fault.“
“Growing up in The Irish San Francisco Bar Business I found Randy’s bar with over 51 years on Ocean a very Nice remodeled place to enjoy a few pops, with My San Franciscans. Sue The Owner GOOD PEOPLE who runs a clean house always makes you feel relaxed. No complaints on her pouring. And cold draft beer. ? ?“

“Great old place. I just came back from San Francisco where Yancy's is located and walking in felt like coming home. This was the place I turned 21 and now 43 years later find myself standing at the bar. Yes, it looks a little worn like a favorite old sweater and totally comfortable. The only thing missing was the Pac Man machine in the back by the big screen. I love this part of San Francisco. A nice selection of restaurants little shops and just character and charm.
If you are in San Francisco and want to check out an old neighborhood bar going to Yancy's won't disappoint you.“
